"Lalu-Nitish rule turned entire Bihar into a labourers' state": Prashant Kishor
Patna (Bihar) [India], June 27 (ANI): Targetting Rashtriya Janata Dal and Janata Dal (United), Jan Suraaj Party party founder Prashant Kishor said that Bihar became a state of labourers under their governance.
'The only way to end poverty, illiteracy and unemployment in Bihar is education. The last 30-35 years of Lalu-Nitish rule have turned the entire Bihar into a labourers' state. The children here were forced to carry sacks on their backs. Jan Suraaj's ideology is that the children of Bihar will not carry sacks on their backs, but will carry school bags, study, get jobs, and live a good life,' Kishor said.
The Election Commission of India has allotted the 'school bag' as the common election symbol to Jan Suraaj for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
Welcoming the decision, Jan Suraaj Party party founder Prashant Kishor emphasised that education is the key to eradicating poverty, illiteracy, and unemployment in the state.
Earlier, in an interview with ANI, he said that despite PM Modi being in power at the Centre for 11 years, Bihar continues to suffer from poverty, hunger, and helplessness. He pointed out that major industries have been established in the state, forcing young people to migrate in search of work.
'We still face hunger, poverty, and helplessness. We ask this government--being in power for twenty years in the state and eleven years at the Centre, you name even one domain where Bihar ranks number one nationally?' he questioned.
He also alleged that the government's claims are based on manipulated d particularly in areas such as toilet construction and educational reforms.
In the current 243-member Bihar Assembly, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) holds 131 seats: the BJP (80), JD(U) (45), HAM(S) (4), and support from 2 independents. The Opposition India Bloc holds 111 seats, comprising RJD (77), Congress (19), CPI(ML) (11), CPI(M) (2), and CPI (2).
Jan Suraaj Party is set to contest in the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections, which are expected later this year.
The elections are expected to be held later this year, in October or November; however, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not announced an official date. (ANI)

New Delhi [India] June 28 (ANI): Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian astronaut to visit the International Space Station (ISS), has said that India looks 'very big and grand' from Space. 'Jab pehli baar Bharat ko dekha, Bharat sach mein bohat bhavya dikta hain, jitna ham map pe dekhten hain, usse kahin jyada bada (When we saw India for the first time, we saw that India looks very grand, very big, much bigger than what we see on the map),' Group Captain Shukla said during his interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking aboard the ISS, Group Captain Shukla also said that it looks from space that no borders exist on Earth. 'The first view was of the Earth and after seeing the Earth from outside, the first thought and the first thing that came to mind was that the Earth looks completely one, no border is visible from outside. When we see the Earth from outside, it seems that no border exists, no state exists, no countries exist. We all are part of humanity, and the Earth is our one home, and all of us are in it,' he said. Group Captain Shukla, who is the second Indian to reach Space, said he feels very proud as India has reached the International Space Station and it is a collective achievement of the country. He said he is feeling very emotional and happy after conversation with PM Modi. He urged youth to work hard, never stop trying and said 'the sky is never the limit'. 'I am feeling very emotional and happy after having a conversation with you and 140 crore Indians. I feel very proud as India has reached the International Space Station...I have learnt a lot in the entire journey. This is a collective achievement of the whole nation...I want to send a message to the younger generation that if you work hard, the future of the nation will be good. The sky is never the limit,' Group Captain Shukla said. 'The message I would like to give our young generation is that India has seen very bold and high dreams and to fulfil those dreams, we need all of you. There is no single way to success, but one thing that is common in every path is that you should never stop trying. If you adopt this basic mantra, then success may come today or tomorrow, but it will definitely come,' he added. With India's first human Space mission 'Gaganyaan' programme having entered its final phase, Shubhanshu Shukla said he is absorbing all the lessons and experience like a sponge. 'I am confident that these lessons will be highly valuable for us and that we will apply them effectively in the coming missions,' he said, with the Tricolour prominently placed in the ISS. We will also see if these supplements can be beneficial for older people on Earth as well,' he said. We trained for a year and I learnt about different after coming here, everything even small things are different because there is no gravity in here is a big takes some time to get used to this environment,' Group Captain Shukla said. He expressed gratitude to the mission team, calling the experience a 'collective achievement'. 'I truly appreciate the efforts of every individual who made this journey possible. It's not just a personal accomplishment - it belongs to all of us,' he added. Axiom 4 mission aboard the Dragon spacecraft successfully docked at the ISS on Thursday, ahead of schedule, autonomously docking at 4:05 pm (IST) to the space-facing port of the space station's Harmony module. Former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, ESA (European Space Agency) astronauts Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski of Poland and Tibor Kapu of Hungary were part of the crew for the Axiom 4 mission. After his arrival at the ISS, Group Captain Shukla called it a 'privilege' to become the 634th human in space and the first Indian to enter the ISS, saying the experience of seeing Earth from such a vantage point was 'wonderful.' After receiving his official astronaut pin from Ax-4 Mission Commander Peggy Whitson, Shukla said, 'I am no 634, that's a privilege.' 'To be fair, it is a privilege to be amongst the few who have got the chance to see the Earth from a vantage point that I have been able to see now. It has been a wonderful ride. I was looking forward to coming to space--it is something to look forward. But the moment I entered the ISS, I felt welcomed. You (Expedition 73 crew) guys literally opened up your doors like your house doors for us, that was fantastic. The expectations I had were surpassed, so thank you so much; this was fantastic. I am confident the next 14 days are going to be amazing doing science and research,' said Shukla in his 'arrival remarks' after entering the ISS. 'I have a small message for my countrymen: It is because of your love and 'The Tricolour I bear on my shoulder makes me feel as though the entire country is with me.
