Matt, spoke of how times have changed and compared last year's Pride with this year's carnival-like vibe and great turnout.
'Last year it was just two of us turning up with a few tunes and then about fifty joined us for a picnic. This year. What a contrast! I'd imagine it was about 700.'
The parade was bathed in sunshine, smiles and dancing to music.
Matt thanked local businesses and Chepstow Town Council, among others for their support. 'Thanks to them all and the Riverside pub for the catering. It was fantastic.'
The colourful display put a smile on Matt's face: 'From small acorns and all that, it was quite a turnaround.'
Matt said the aim of the Chepstow group is group is to work with local businesses and grow as a local group and remain relevant to local businesses and services.
'I suppose the success of weekend shows how far we have come as a society,' Matt added.
Among revellers at the parade were Chepstow councillors, led by town Mayor, Councillor Jim McTaggart and Deputy Mayor Cllr Vanessa Badderley-Potter.
Matt is hoping for the good weather repeating itself for Chepstow Pride, 2026

Yungblud discusses his sexuality in powerful admission and emotionally admits he's 'liking looking like a boy for the first time in a long time' in shirtless shoot for Attitude magazine

Yungblud has candidly opened up about his sexuality in a powerful admission for Attitude Magazine's July/ August Pride edition. The singer, 27, who came out as pansexual in 2020, admitted he feels a lot more confident to discuss his sexuality after years of feeling 'insecure' about it. Yungblud said: 'I am the pan man — I'm the f****** saucepan… Because it's the [label] that allows me to be who I am; it's the one with the most room for manoeuvre. 'Do you know what I'm saying? I do feel like I am less insecure about it.' Pansexuality is the romantic, emotional and/or sexual to people regardless of their gender. He also reflected on his body image in the emotional interview, admitting 'he's liking looking like a boy for the first time in a long time'. The singer, who came out as pansexual in 2020, admitted he feels a lot more confident about discussing his sexuality after years of feeling 'insecure' about it The musician said: 'I've got this really forward, masculine, sexual aggression that I need to get out, and I can either do that by shagging and partying, or by taking a more centered route. 'I wasn't happy with my body; I didn't feel sexy… At the beginning of my career, I had the kind of confidence where you don't think about the way you look. 'I'd walk into the dressing room and be like, 'What am I gonna wear tonight? Can I borrow your skirt, or your f****** leather pants,' or whatever the fuck was there.' … 'Some days I'm still gonna walk out the house with lippy on, but I know for this period in my life, I'm liking looking like a boy for the first time in a long time.' Yungblud admitted in May that he finally found 'the love of his life' in Cher's god-daughter - despite breaking off their relationship following a period of intense 'insecurity.' The British rocker, real name Dominic Harrison, had finally settled into a long-term relationship with Los Angeles-based singer and fashion designer Jesse Jo Stark after a string of failed romances, among them a short-lived fling with Halsey. Last month, Yungblud released a music video for Zombie which starred award-winning actress Florence Pugh. The music video for Zombie, directed by Charlie Sarsfield and produced by Untold Studios, went live at 4pm. He said: 'Some days I'm still gonna walk out the house with lippy on, but I know for this period in my life, I'm liking looking like a boy for the first time in a long time' (pictured in 2021) Zombie is the third single from Yungblud's forthcoming album, Idols which released on June 20. Idols is the first part of a double album, with the release date of part two yet to be announced. Speaking about the track, said: 'The song was written initially about my grandmother going through serious injury and trauma, leading her to become a different person to who she was before. 'It's about the feeling of deterioration and ugliness; shutting out the world and the people we love out of the fear of becoming a burden or an embarrassment. 'We all want someone or something to comfort us no matter how we are right now or who we become in the future. But it's f***ing scary.' The song's video matches its message, with Florence portraying a healthcare worker at her emotional brink, overwhelmed by grief and exhaustion.

Boom! Yeah, f*** you Chester.' The comment appeared to refer to a previous performance in Chester earlier in the summer. While some festivalgoers laughed, others booed the remark, prompting Matt to quickly redirect his focus back to the Isle of Wight crowd. He said: 'But the Isle of Wight is gonna have it, right? Let me hear ya.' Advertisement Footage of the moment circulated online after being shared by Blunt Magazine on Instagram, with the caption: '@mattjwillis tried to hype the crowd at @isleofwightfest on Saturday night — and instead found himself on the wrong end of a chorus of boos.' I was homeless for 3 years & now live in a shed – people expect it to be full of spiders but I have plumbing & electrics

But many social media users were left "sad" by Matt's tour of his tiny home HUMBLE HAVEN I was homeless for 3 years & now live in a shed – people expect it to be full of spiders but I have plumbing & electrics Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MAN has revealed that he was homeless for three years, but is now living in a shed. Matt, a 34-year-old welder, has managed to get himself off the streets and now sleeps in a tiny home in the middle of the woods. In fact, Matt's home has proper plumbing and electrics. And while he may not have an oven, he does have a shower and toilet. Posting on social media, the content creator gave his followers a close-up look inside his one-bedroom shed, as he wrote: 'People see the outside and assume it's rough in here - here's what surprises them.' Giving a tour of his off-grid home, Matt, who lives a minimalist lifestyle, showed off his fiberglass shower which has an 'endless' supply of hot water. Not only this, but he's also got a composting toilet with a fan-powered vent system. Additionally, Matt's shed is home to a full kitchen set-up with fridge, sink and countertop space. In the bedroom area of the shed, Matt has a camp-style bed, which is next to a washing machine and tumble dryer. The home even has full insulation too. Keen to set the record straight on his shed home, Matt explained: 'People think I'm roasting in here but it stays cool.' I was sick of paying rent so moved into a shed at the bottom of my garden Not only this, but he then continued: 'People expect this to be a shed with tools and spiders…It's actually my peaceful home.' The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @mattg326, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and racked up 1.2 million views. It's a nice setup but the fact that people accept this as normal now is scary. Successful and competent people live in homes, not sheds TikTok user Not only this, but it's also amassed 45,900 likes, 546 comments and 2,324 saves. But while many social media users described the tiny home as 'cute and cosy', others were 'sad' that a shed is all many can afford in the current economy. One person said: 'That is the future for all of us. A shed is about all we can afford these days.' Do I need planning permission to convert my shed? CONVERTING an existing shed or outbuilding into a self-contained living space will usually require you apply for planning permission. However, there is a "loophole" Brits can use to convert outbuildings into a tiny home without permission. Planning expert Martin Gaine from Just Planning warned the conversion process is far easier than you may think. Speaking to The Sun, the Chartered Town Planner of 14 years' experience explained: "An outbuilding can be built using 'permitted development rights', meaning it does not need planning permission. "As long as you comply with the various restrictions and conditions." One of these is that the outbuilding can only be used for something 'ancillary' to your main living accommodation - examples include storage, a gym or a pool room. If the outbuilding is existing, converting it then into primary living accommodation IS allowed. Martin explained: "This is because internal changes to an existing building are not considered to be development at all under the Town and Country Planning Act. But like anything, there is one catch. The new living accommodation must still have some connection with your use of the main house. For instance, if your gran is living out there, she must still come into the house to eat. Another added: 'It's a nice setup but the fact that people accept this as normal now is scary. Successful and competent people live in homes, not sheds.' A third commented: 'That's super cool, sad we all have to result to this!' Despite this, someone else chimed in and claimed: 'Better than some people's houses.' But at the same time, one user questioned: 'No oven?' In response, Matt replied and confirmed: 'Working towards a small table top oven.'
