Aston Martin unveils new DBX S with increased horsepower engine and new features
Aston Martin
has officially unveiled the DBX S, a groundbreaking addition to its luxury performance lineup and now the most powerful internal combustion engine (ICE) SUV ever produced. Revealed in late April 2025, the
DBX S
delivers a staggering 717 bhp and achieves a top speed of 193 mph, pushing the boundaries of SUV engineering. Building on the foundation of the original DBX, this new model introduces improvements in handling, responsiveness, and aerodynamic design. With first deliveries slated for the final quarter of 2025, the DBX S is poised to challenge top-tier competitors like the Lamborghini Urus SE and Ferrari Purosangue.
How has DBX S evolved over the years
Launched originally in July 2020, the DBX marked Aston Martin's first foray into the SUV market. While it initially raised eyebrows, the DBX quickly gained respect for its mix of supercar performance and everyday practicality. The DBX S builds on this foundation with significant mechanical and design upgrades, ensuring it remains at the forefront of the luxury performance SUV segment.

The DBX S is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, the same engine found in the DBX707 but now enhanced with revised turbos borrowed from the upcoming Valhalla hypercar. The result is 535kW (717bhp) and 900Nm of torque, making it quicker and more powerful than its predecessor. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, with a recalibrated nine-speed transmission and a rear-biased all-wheel drive system for optimal control.
Lightweight enhancements and handling
To improve agility, Aston Martin offers a full carbon-fibre roof and magnesium alloy wheels, which together cut 37kg from the DBX's weight. The DBX S is also equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes featuring 420mm front and 390mm rear discs, ensuring precise stopping power. These enhancements make the SUV not only faster but also nimbler on both track and road.
DBX S design tweaks and interior refinements
Visually, the DBX S is distinguished by a carbon-fibre mesh grille, new front splitter, and redesigned side skirts and rear bumper. The exhaust now features stacked quad pipes. Inside, while the cabin largely mirrors that of the DBX707, unique leather options, embroidery, and stitching details set the DBX S apart, adding to its exclusive feel.
A strong statement from Aston Martin
Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark highlighted the DBX S as a statement of intent for the brand's future ambitions. With its unmatched power and refined engineering, the DBX S is positioned to be a dominant force in the performance SUV arena. Full pricing and launch details are expected soon, but early indications point to a vehicle that will captivate supercar enthusiasts looking for SUV practicality without sacrificing speed or luxury.

30 New E-Buses Remain Idle As Charging Infra Not Ready
1 2 3 Nagpur: Even as Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has inducted 30 new air-conditioned electric buses into its Aapli Bus fleet on June 22 with much fanfare in the presence of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, the vehicles remain idle due to absence of charging infrastructure. These buses are part of the long-pending 250 e-bus project sanctioned by Fadnavis in 2023. Though delivered by Hansa Vahan India Pvt Ltd, which is implementing the project in partnership with Pune-based EKA Mobility, the firm's permanent charging depot at Wathoda is still under construction and will take another four to six months to become operational. To avoid further delay in deploying the new buses, the firm has approached existing Aapli Bus operators — EV Trans and PMI Electro Mobility — for temporary access to at least three charging points each at either their Wadi or Lakadganj depots. NMC has also temporarily allotted space at Matrushakti E-Depot in Lakadganj for setting up provisional charging stations. The arrival of these 30 e-buses increases Nagpur's electric bus fleet from 230 to 260, and the overall Aapli Bus fleet to 539, including 150 midi buses, 45 mini buses, and 237 standard diesel buses procured under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) scheme. Many of the diesel buses have already crossed their 15-year lifespan. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like "밤새 나던 종아리 쥐가 사라졌어요!', 막힌 혈관 찌꺼기 싹~ 청소한 "이것.' 대박이네!! 카이스트 건강비결 더 알아보기 Undo In the first phase, NMC scrapped 123 such buses and plans to phase out more as new electric buses arrive. The goal is to gradually replace the ageing fleet with zero-emission alternatives. The Rs550 crore electric bus project faced multiple delays on account of several factors, including the enforcement of model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha and state assembly elections. The project gained traction only in 2024 after NMC awarded the contract to Hansa Vahan. In addition, NMC expects the first batch of 150 e-buses under Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa scheme to arrive next month and has sent a proposal for another 240 e-buses. "We aim to fully electrify the city's public transport fleet by 2029," a senior official said.

Maharashtra-registered Ferrari's free run ends, owner coughs up Rs 1.4 crore in tax in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: For over a year, a bright red Ferrari zipped through Bengaluru's streets, turning heads — and raising eyebrows. On Thursday, its ride came to a brief halt near Lalbagh when transport officials flagged it for allegedly dodging Karnataka's lifetime tax. Registered in Maharashtra, the Rs 7.5 crore SF90 Stradale had been operating in the city well past the one-year limit allowed for out-of-state vehicles. The owner, a businessman, coughed up Rs 1.4 crore in tax and penalty on the same day to avoid having the car impounded. Acting on a tip-off, Jayanagar RTO officials began tracking a Ferrari that had been spotted frequently on Bengaluru's streets. On Thursday, they found the owner had not paid Karnataka's lifetime tax. The vehicle was registered in Maharashtra two years ago. Around 8.30am on Thursday, the driver was cruising near Lalbagh. When we stopped the car and asked for documents, he said they were at home. Later, we verified the registration," an official said. After an investigation, RTO officials concluded that the vehicle had been used in the city for over 18 months. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Book 3 & 4 BHK apartments from 4.65 Cr* in Sec 22, Gurugram Ambience Creacions, Gurugram Learn More Undo "As per rules, if a vehicle registered outside the state is used here for over a year, the owner must pay the applicable tax or the vehicle will be seized," the official added. The officer said they had briefed senior authorities about the situation, who directed them to seize the Ferrari if the owner failed to comply. "Following this, the owner agreed to pay the due tax," the official confirmed. The businessman operating across 55 locations in India had chosen to register the car in Maharashtra to benefit from the lower tax rate. "But the rules are clear," said the official. "If you use an out-of-state vehicle in Karnataka for more than a year, you are liable to pay lifetime tax here." This isn't the first time the RTO has taken action against luxury vehicle owners flouting tax norms. In recent years, authorities have launched multiple drives in Bengaluru targeting high-end cars avoiding local taxes. In a special drive conducted in March, the department had collected Rs 40 crore from multiple luxury vehicles registered outside the state. Officials said the present drive will continue.

After 'good' trials, roads min junks L1 bidding mode
NEW DELHI: In a major policy change, all highway agencies under the road transport ministry, including the NHAI, will soon replace the least cost (L1) mode for bidding out works for preparing detailed project reports (DPRs) with highest technical score (T1) for companies. The agencies will fix cost for consultancy service (bid price) and companies will be selected on the basis of their technical competence and ratings based on their past performance. Officials said the experiment of only fixed cost and highest technical score for bidding out works in the NHAI has been "good" so far, since its introduction in Sept last year. TOI on Sept 8 had first reported this crucial change in bidding parameters. "The new provision of rating of bidders and assigning 30% marks for technical score will further bring quality players to bid for projects," said a senior official. The policy change gains importance considering that there has been major deterioration in preparation of project reports after consultancy firms bagged projects quoting very low and unsustainable prices. Poor project preparation impacts quality of work and results in delay in implementation. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 2025 Top Trending local enterprise accounting software [Click Here] Esseps Learn More Undo In developed countries such as Japan and Australia, govt entities pay more attention and time to preparation for DPRs for perfect execution. Officials admitted that there have been several cases where the prices quoted for preparing DPRs was as low as Rs 70,000-Rs 80,000 per km. "At such a low cost, no one can prepare a good DPR. Field surveys cost more than such quoted price. That was the trigger for fixing the cost, which approximately comes to Rs 4-5 lakh for one km of 4-6 lane highway. This is barely 0.5% of the overall project cost. In most other countries the payment made for DPR preparation is around 10% of project cost," an official said. He added that provisions have been made where companies that have key personnel from top 50 reputed technical institutes, such as IITs and NITs, will get a better score. "So, the entire framework of technical score, including the marks for ratings, is aimed at getting serious and quality players to bid for DRP works,"an NHAI official said.
