Liverpool transfer news: Alexander Isak agrees move as major clue dropped
Given the money they've spent so far, most would think that Liverpool boss Arne Slot would be happy with his squad. But you'd be sorely mistaken.
Despite the arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, the Reds still want to add some more new faces. And the one they really want is Alexander Isak.
The Swedish striker has already requested a move away from St James' Park, with Liverpool thought to be at the front of the queue for his services. But it's going to take some serious negotiations to get a deal done.
Newcastle are expected to demand around £150m for his signature but Liverpool chiefs are hopeful of negotiating that down. Elsewhere, departures are also on the agenda for the reigning Premier League champions.
Luis Diaz is on the verge of a move to Bayern Munich, with other stars also potentially set to follow him through the exit door. Take a look at all of the Liverpool transfer news and rumours below:
Isak agrees Liverpool deal
While there is still work to be done to agree a deal with Newcastle for Isak, it appears that the striker himself has given the go-ahead to a switch. After dropping his bombshell request to leave Newcastle, he has now agreed terms with Liverpool.
According to Sky Sport Switzerland, Isak has green-lit a contract with the Reds that matches his personal wage demands. The contract is expected to be valid for five years.
Liverpool will now have to open talks with Newcastle to get a deal done. It is further reported that a meeting is expected to be held between the two sides over the next 48 hours.
Bayern drop major clue
German giants Bayern Munich have dropped a major clue that they are ready to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool. The Bundesliga side have already thrashed out terms with the Reds that will see the Colombian move for a fee of around £65m.
And they are now making space in their squad ahead of his arrival. According to Sky in Germany, fellow winger Bryan Zaragoza is set to depart the Allianz Arena.
He will move to La Liga side Celta Vigo on loan with an obligation clause written into the deal. His exit comes just 18 months after his arrival from fellow Spanish side Granada.
Liverpool set to sell three
Following Diaz, a further three sales are on the agenda for Liverpool as they attempt to generate funds for Isak. According to ESPN, striker Darwin Nunez is expected to follow Diaz out of the exit door.
Midfielder Harvey Elliott and winger Federico Chiesa are also potentially set to depart. And should those three deals be done, that would fetch Liverpool around £100m.
Nunez has been linked with moves to Napoli and Saudi Arabia, while Chiesa is a candidate for a switch back to Italy.

Bruno Fernandes hits out at 'lazy' Man Utd stars and makes alarming admission
Bruno Fernandes has hit out at his 'lazy' Manchester United teammates following the 2-2 pre-season draw against Everton on Sunday night. The Red Devils won the Premier League Summer Series tournament – but put in an alarming performance as they twice threw away their lead. Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Fernandes, who scored United's first goal and provided the assist for the second, worryingly admitted that the club still isn't where it needs to be ahead of the 2025-26 season. 'We didn't want to finish in this way,' Fernandes said after the friendly against Everton. 'Our performance wasn't the best today off the ball. It is improving [the club situation] but we are not where this club needs to be.' Fernandes also played down his clash with Everton star Iliman Ndiaye – and says the pre-season tour of the United States has been worthwhile – with United having won their other two matches against AFC Bournemouth and West Ham, which was enough to land the Summer Series trophy. 'It's a game of football, there is always passion there,' Fernandes added. 'Whatever happens, happens. There was nothing spicy there, it is normal, it is part of the game 'It is positive [the United States tour] and it is good to create a bond with the players.' Meanwhile, speaking in his half-time interview, United head coach Ruben Amorim called out his players for Ndiaye's goal on 40 minutes. Manuel Ugarte lost the ball cheaply on the edge of his own penalty area and a cross to the far post found Ndiaye. Ndiaye had made the run off the back of Fernandes – who fell asleep – and the Everton star applied the finishing touch to find the far corner. More Trending 'When Ugarte has the ball, you can see the defence walking towards the box,' Amorim told Sky Sports. 'We need to sprint. When Ugarte loses the ball we need to be at least on the edge of the box. These small details we need to improve.' United have one more friendly left before the 2025-26 season gets underway as they take on Italian side Fiorentina at home on Saturday. The Red Devils face Arsenal in their opening match of the new Premier League campaign on August 17, looking to improve on a disastrous season last term as they finished 15th in the top-flight without a trophy. Bruno Fernandes and Iliman Ndiaye come to blows in fiery clash as Everton hold Man United to 2-2 draw in Atlanta
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye were involved in a fiery confrontation during their sides' 2-2 draw in Atlanta. The flashpoint occurred just before Everton's second equaliser. Fernandes slid in from behind on Ndiaye near the halfway line, prompting an angry reaction from the Everton man, who believed the challenge was reckless. The pair squared up in a heated exchange as play continued, and moments later, United conceded a bizarre own goal, with Amad Diallo kicking the ball into his own net. Despite the drama, United were crowned champions of the Premier League Summer Series thanks to their earlier wins over West Ham and Bournemouth. Fernandes had put United ahead in the 19th minute, calmly converting a penalty after James Tarkowski brought down Diallo in the box. Everton responded five minutes before half-time. Idrissa Gueye picked out Ndiaye with a pinpoint cross to the back post, and the Senegal international made no mistake with a composed finish. United regained the lead in the 69th minute through Mason Mount, who turned smartly inside the area before drilling a shot past Jordan Pickford. But the lead didn't last long. After the altercation between Fernandes and Ndiaye, Everton levelled again through Diallo's own goal, capping off a scrappy but intense encounter - one that gave Ruben Amorim's squad a true test ahead of the new Premier League season. Manchester United return to action on Saturday when they host Serie A side Fiorentina at Old Trafford. Ruben Amorim's side will then kick off their Premier League campaign the following Sunday against Arsenal at home.
