Adani Enterprises To Partner With MetTube For Copper Tubes Business
Adani group flagship company will divest 50 per cent of its copper tubes business to MetTube, while simultaneously acquiring a 50 per cent stake in MetTube's Indian unit, the company said on Thursday.
The two firms will collaborate to manufacture copper tubes used in air conditioning, renewable energy, and smart construction applications.
"Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) has entered into a share purchase and shareholders agreements with MetTube Mauritius Private Limited (MetTube)," the firm said in a statement.
"Under the agreement, Adani Enterprises will divest a 50 per cent stake in its wholly owned subsidiary, Kutch Copper Tubes Limited, to MetTube. Additionally, Adani Enterprises will invest 50 per cent in MetTube Copper India Private Limited, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of MetTube and operates a plant near Ahmedabad in Gujarat," the statement added.
This is aimed at delivering next-generation solutions to the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry through their facilities, the Adani group firm said, adding that the alliance is aimed at reducing India's dependence on imported copper tubes and building a robust domestic ecosystem for copper-based applications.
The company did not disclose financial details of the transaction.
MetTube, a part of the diversified Metdist Group, brings decades of global experience in manufacturing high-performance copper tubes. Adani Enterprises, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, has already established advanced copper manufacturing infrastructure in Mundra, Gujarat, including the greenfield copper tube facility under Kutch Copper Tubes Limited (KCTL).
"The dual investment structure ensures equal ownership and shared governance, enabling both entities to co-create a future-ready copper tube business, keeping in mind India's vision of improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions," the statement said.
Adani Group director Jeet Adani said the partnership with MetTube is a strategic leap towards making India self-reliant in copper tube manufacturing. "By combining Adani's infrastructure and operational excellence with MetTube's global expertise, we are not just building capacity - we are building capability." "India's copper tube demand is growing rapidly, and this alliance strengthens our commitment to the 'Make in India' vision with globally benchmarked manufacturing. Together with Adani, we aim to deliver high-quality, locally manufactured Inner Grooved copper tubes that meet international standards. This partnership reflects our shared ambition for sustainable growth and innovation," Apurv Bagri, Chairman of Metdist Group, said.
The alliance leverages Adani's forward-integrated copper ecosystem - anchored by its 0.5 million tonnes per annum copper refinery project in Mundra - and MetTube's global manufacturing and marketing expertise.
"This synergy will enable scale and speed in copper tube production, besides supporting India's green infrastructure goals by supplying high-performance copper tubes for HVAC, renewable energy, and smart construction applications. The copper tubes produced will cater to critical sectors such as air conditioning, refrigeration, and plumbing, where demand is surging due to urbanisation and climate-responsive infrastructure needs," the statement added.

Microsoft restores services, Delhi HC closes Nayara Energy's plea
Nayara Energy informed the Delhi High Court on Wednesday (July 30, 2025) that Microsoft has restored cloud services to its cloud-based services, following which the court allowed the company to withdraw its petition. Nayara Energy — an Indo-Russian oil refining and marketing company — had approached the court after being suddenly locked out of its Microsoft account, disrupting critical business operations. Also Read | CEO of Russia-backed Indian refiner Nayara Energy resigns after E.U. sanctions, sources say The company contended that Microsoft's unilateral action was based solely on its interpretation of recent European Union (EU) sanctions against Russia, despite Nayara being an Indian entity. At the outset of the hearing, counsel for Nayara Energy told the court that 'the matter is resolved because they (Microsoft) have restored all services.' The court then allowed Nayara to withdraw the petition, granting liberty to approach the court again should Microsoft take similar action in the future. Senior advocates Rajiv Nayyar and Dayan Krishnan, appearing for Nayara, argued that Microsoft had acted without notice and urged the court to record that any future termination of services should not be abrupt. 'At least they should give 3–4 days' notice before terminating. There can't be an abrupt shutting,' the lawyers said. Narrating the background, Mr. Krishnan said, 'Originally, there were servers. Then the Ukraine war started. They (Microsoft) came to us to move to cloud servers. We were apprehensive. They assured us: 'Don't worry, the Indian entity will not be affected by any of these (sanctions).' After that, this has happened.' Microsoft's counsel said the service has been restored but further clarified that no assurances could be given for the future. 'They (Nayara) are a sanctioned entity by the EU. We have restored today, but I can't make these statements for the future,' Microsoft's counsel submitted. Taking note of the developments, the court observed, 'Earlier, without notice, they had shut their services. You came to court. Now they have restored it. The grievance stands mitigated. In the future, we believe they would not do the same exercise, and as and when they intend to, they will perhaps give you notice. If they don't, you can come back to court.' In a recent press statement Nayara had said, 'While the sanctions originate exclusively from the EU, Microsoft—a U.S.-headquartered corporation—has chosen to withdraw services from Nayara Energy without any legal requirement to do so under U.S. or Indian law'. According to a Microsoft spokesperson, 'Microsoft is committed to supporting all its customers in India and worldwide, and has restored services for Nayara Energy. We are engaged in ongoing discussions with the European Union towards service continuity for the organization.' Nayara Energy said it is a vital contributor to India's energy security, accounting for approximately 8% of the country's total refining capacity, approx 7% of its retail petrol pump network.

Microsoft restores services to Nayara Energy after EU sanctions dispute
Microsoft has resumed its services to Nayara Energy, a Russian-linked Indian oil refining company, after briefly cutting them off due to fresh European Union sanctions, news agency Reuters reported. The update was shared in a New Delhi court by Nayara's lawyer, who confirmed the tech giant had restored access following a legal appeal by the company. Microsoft had suspended services after the EU introduced new sanctions on July 18 targeting Russia's energy sector. These measures also impacted Nayara, which is partly owned by Russian oil major Rosneft. The service cut caused major disruptions at Nayara's Vadinar refinery in Gujarat, which processes 400,000 barrels of oil per day. Due to limited fuel storage and pressure from shipping partners, Nayara was forced to scale down its operations. Following the disruption, Nayara approached a New Delhi court seeking an order to restore Microsoft's services. The company argued that its staff had lost access to official emails and important company data needed for daily work.
