David Moir/Bravo via Getty Images Top Chef host Kristen Kish and judges Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons will be in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Greenville, South Carolina, this summer to film season 23 of the cooking competition show. The recent announcement was made in partnership with the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority and Visit Greenville SC. In the press release, Senior Vice President for NBCUniversal, Ryan Flynn, says, 'We're excited to return to the South for Top Chef Carolinas. Charlotte and Greenville are perfect chefs' playgrounds fueled by exceptional local ingredients, bold flavors, a strong agricultural foundation, stunning natural landscapes, and the warm, genuine hospitality the South is known for.' This exciting news also comes on the heels of the announcement that Greenville will host the 2025 Michelin Guide ceremony for the American South. Greenville has been making culinary strides in recent years, including taking home a James Beard Award and marking the 20th anniversary of its signature food festival, Euphoria. This isn't the first time the Top Chef crew has focused on the Carolinas — in 2016, they filmed the 14th season in Charleston, South Carolina, with then-host Padma Lakshmi dining her way through the Lowcountry. If you live in Charlotte or Greenville, the best place to stalk the cheftestants is usually your nearest Whole Foods, as the chefs shop there before most of the competitions.

Ultra-Luxury Safari Eco Retreat Invites Guests To Pay What They Can

Taking a luxury safari is an experience that sits close to the top of many people's travel bucket lists. Yet the price tag can be prohibitive, with a recent survey showing that fewer than half of Americans plan to travel this summer with affordability cited as the factor keeping them at home. How much would you pay to stay in one of the world's most beautiful wild places? Few & Far Luvhondo In what it describes as a 'bold experiment in access, stewardship, and transformation,' new South African safari eco-lodge Few & Far Luvhondo is inviting people to experience their ultra-luxury safaris without breaking the bank via its pay what you can campaign. Under the somewhat questionable tagline 'nature has no price tag,' hopeful guests can apply for an all-inclusive safari stay and pitch their own price with a promise of 'no compromises on experience or hidden fixed rates, just a bold new approach to travel that is purpose-led, inclusive and impact driven.' Just six ultra-luxury suites dot the cliffside, offering extraordinary views, total comfort and the knowledge whatever you pay is supporting the environment you're enjoying. Few & Far Luvhondo Set deep within the Soutpansberg Mountains of the UNESCO Vhembe Biosphere Reserve, Few & Far Luvhondo is an intimate retreat with just six biophilic cliffside suites. Its focus is on creating a wholly reimagined, sustainably-minded safari. It is a Verra Registered Carbon Project leading hands-on initiatives like habitat restoration, carbon sequestration and an innovative offset program. Opening in October, a highlight experience will be Solyrus its unique solar-powered aerial safari. Inspired by the weaver bird nests, it spans a 25-mile cable car track around the reserve that allows guests to traverse above the wildlife and encounter the bush in a truly extraordinary way. Each stay at the retreat directly funds and supports the lodge's mission to regenerate wilderness and safeguard the flora, fauna and ecosystems that make the region so unique. When it comes to explaining why you want to stay, the swimming pool probably shouldn't be top of your list—despite its perfection. Few & Far Luvhondo Running for a limited number of stays, you'll need to complete the application form with details like the size of your group and your preferred arrival and departure dates or length of stay. You'll also need to suggest a total amount you're happy to spend for your visit and then explain why you want to stay at Luvhondo in particular. Herein lies the crux – every application is reviewed by Few & Far cofounder Sarah Dusek, and so you can expect only those with the best reasons will make the cut. A sensible option may be to focus your reasons on learning about and contributing to the rewilding and conservation work Luvhondo pursues, as this is clearly Few & Far's guiding mission.

Southwest Airlines Considering Rewards Change After Ending Free Bags

Late last month, Southwest Airlines instituted its new bag policy, which was previously announced in March. "For reservations booked and ticketed or changed on or after May 28, 2025, checked baggage fees will apply. We will offer two free checked bags to our Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred Members and Business Select Customers, and one free checked bag to A-List Members and other select Customers. Southwest will credit the first checked bag for Rapid Rewards Credit Cardmembers," the airline said in a statement at the time. A month after the airline ended one of its only benefits over opposing airlines, Southwest appears to be considering another major change - one that customers are already fuming over. Travel insider View From the Wing, revealed the airline is considering a change to its Rapid Rewards loyalty program, including major restrictions to the popular Companion Pass benefit, after a leaked survey was revealed in a Facebook chat and Reddit post. "So I took a survey, husband A-List Preferred. Our 6th year with companion pass and it seems they want to change up the tiers of rewards to 5 levels and only give the highest level the ability to have Companion seat picked at booking. They are so going to start making us pay for every little thing," the Facebook post read. The Reddit discussion thread: "Southwest survey on loyalty levels for next year. Seems likely a big CP nerf incoming. They're looking at a 4 tier program, with only the top tier earning CP, if that. Top tier qualifying points requirements ranging from 100-160k or 30-50 round trips. Companion pass options are either nonexistent, 4 one way certs or full CP. No CP on the lower 3 tiers at all in the survey. They seem to be entertaining a option to keep the seat next to you open, with various numbers of certs. Any seat, 3 bags, 2 drinks, priority lane at top level. Various iterations down to almost nothing at a low level that bottoms out at 10k. No indication if card sign up bonuses count for qualifying points or not. Currently, Rapid Rewards members can earn the Companion Pass, which allows a second traveler to fly free (excluding taxes) on both paid and award tickets. However, with the potential change only those in the highest tier would retain full Companion Pass Airlines Considering Rewards Change After Ending Free Bags first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 30, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword
