The medium reports that in addition to Real Madrid and the London clubs, other names like Ajax, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Olympique Marseille have also been mentioned.
Chelsea and Spurs are said to have been following Smit closely 'for months'. Johan Lange, technical director at Spurs, is reportedly 'charmed by Smit'.
Smit is still contracted to Alkmaar until the summer of 2028, and amounts of 25 million euros were previously mentioned for the promising youngster.
The arrival of Smit does not seem a realistic prospect for the Dutch top clubs. Diario AS reported that the mentioned amount would be 'achievable on paper' for Real Madrid. Just how Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur compare to transfer competition, is not known.

Bold Warriors Trade Idea Unites Stephen Curry With His Long-Awaited Perfect Fit

Bold Warriors Trade Idea Unites Stephen Curry With His Long-Awaited Perfect Fit originally appeared on Athlon Sports. When you hear Stephen Curry and dream running mate, who comes to mind? If the answer is anything but LeBron James, it is the wrong one. Advertisement The two megastars finally shared the court as teammates, not rivals, at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The Golden State Warriors would likely be more than happy to see that pairing in their jerseys as well. The idea of pairing James and Curry is not new. However, what has changed is the Los Angeles Lakers' reported stance on how they perceive their 40-year-old superstar. Brian Windhorst suggested James is no longer being viewed as a franchise player. The four-time NBA champion has been reduced to the status of 'expiring contract.' Windhorst said, "My conversations over the last three days have crystallized that the Lakers are essentially viewing LeBron as an expiring contract. ... I'm not sure what happened, but the Lakers and LeBron did not have (substantive discussions about extending his contract." Advertisement The NBA insider said expiring contracts are typically viewed as trade pieces in the league and that he was no longer convinced that a trade involving James was an impossibility. That is the Warriors' cue. Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry defends against Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James at Chase Yamashita-Imagn Images Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report thought up a trade package for this potential deal, should it come to pass. The NBA writer listed the Warriors as one of the top destinations for James. Warriors get: LeBron James. Lakers get: Jimmy Butler, Quinten Post. The selling points of this trade is interesting for both sides. For the Lakers, it may be a bit tougher to get behind this deal. Butler has more years in the tank than James does. However, the real incentive to downgrade from James for an extra year of Jimmy is not overwhelmingly exciting, even if Post helps address their frontcourt concerns. Advertisement For the Warriors, 2025-26 could very well be James' last year. Are the Warriors content taking one clear shot at the title with both Curry and James, if that is the case? Ultimately, both sides would need to do a bit of mental gymnastics for this one. However, the Warriors probably gravitate to the idea a lot quicker than the Lakers would. PSG 'dead' unless they keep improving: Luis Enrique

Paris Saint-Germain's coach Luis Enrique said his team had to keep improving and adapting otherwise they will be "dead" (Patricia DE MELO MOREIRA) Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique said Friday his team will keep adapting and improving to pursue future success and if they failed to do so they would be "dead". The European champions face German giants Bayern Munich on Saturday in the Club World Cup quarter-finals in Atlanta and the Spanish coach said they will not keep relying on the same system. Advertisement PSG played an entertaining attacking style with three forwards on their way to Champions League glory, but Luis Enrique said one day he would diverge. "We will change it because teams adapt -- in football there is nothing magical," Luis Enrique told reporters. "When you overcome the press, your opponent adapts, when you create superiority in an area, your opponent adapts, there is no magic formula. "There is no coach who has a system or a move, and that's it, that's the difficulty of modern football, all coaches are prepared, all players are better physically and technically than ever." Advertisement "So you adapt, you improvise, and you become unpredictable for your opponent, or you are dead." Luis Enrique said playing the same way that led PSG to a first treble this season would not suffice going forward. "It's not enough to do what we've done this past season in the next, we have to change, we have to improve things," added Luis Enrique. Bayern Munich beat PSG 1-0 in November in the Champions League group stage, before the French side found their stride and went on to triumph in the competition for the first time. "We have a little bit of revenge to take, we know they're a tough team, but we're much stronger than in November," said Ousmane Dembele, who was sent off in Munich. Advertisement "A lot has changed -- the players have clearly raised their level, I've raised my level too, and we have a lot of confidence. We know what we need to do on the field, we can beat any team." The 28-year-old is a leading Ballon d'Or contender after a superb campaign, although has only made a brief cameo as a substitute in the Club World Cup thus far. Dembele suffered a quadriceps injury during the Nations League at the start of June and came on in PSG's 4-0 romp against Lionel Messi's Inter Miami. The forward said he is now "100 percent" fit but it is up to Luis Enrique whether he starts against Bayern at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. "It's not the time to give information to my opponent -- we'll see tomorrow," said Luis Enrique. rbs/sev
