F1 driver's girlfriend steals the show in stunning old-Hollywood gown with sheer detailing

The world of Formula 1 is no stranger to glitz and glamour. When they're away from the track, the sports stars are often found suited and booted at high-profile events across the globe.
That was certainly the case for Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, who attended Le Gala de la Croix Rouge, known as the Monaco Red Cross Gala, hosted by the Monegasque royal family on Saturday.
But it was his girlfriend, Alexandra Saint Mleux, who really turned heads that evening.
The 23-year-old art-history graduate paid homage to one of Hollywood's most famous starlets - and one with a fitting Monegasque connection.
Alexandra looked stunning in a floaty, two-toned blue gown inspired by Grace Kelly in the 1955 blockbuster To Catch a Thief.
She complemented the showstopping dress with minimal jewellery, fresh, glowy makeup and a sleek updo.
Alexandra worked with French fashion designer Antione Guerin to create the custom gown.
"Thank you @antoine.guerin_ for bringing my idea to life in your own beautiful way," she wrote on her Instagram.
Antoine's Instagram shows the designer painstakingly creating the details of the gown, crafting the wrapped design of the bodice by hand and forming an intricate rosette.
Alexandra's friends flocked to the comments section to express their admiration.
Rebecca Donaldson, who, aside from being a Scottish model and girlfriend of Williams Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr., is a close friend of Alexandra's, called the dress "dreamy", while George Russell's girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt wrote: "So stunning!!!!!".
Her fans also adored the outfit, with many calling Alexandra a "princess", which tied in perfectly with Alexandra's inspiration, Grace Kelly.
Already a Hollywood queen for her starring roles in films like The Country Girl and Rear Window, American actress Grace Kelly became real royalty when she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956.
She was known for her elegance and glamour, as well as her support her emerging performance artists through the Princess Grace Foundation.
Alexandra and Charles began dating in 2023, and she has since developed a reputation for her beauty. She is a regular guest at fashion shows and brand events, and is an ambassador for Hailey Bieber's beauty brand, Rhode.
Alexandra is often spotted at race weekends supporting her racing star boyfriend, and fans are always on the lookout for her next paddock showstopper.

Chargers will be looking 🔥— or maybe like Minions — in 2025 alternate uniforms

The Chargers are going for the gold this season. Or are they going for the mustard bottle? Or the banana? Fans will be able to figure that out for themselves this fall when the team debuts its 'Charger Power' uniforms, one of two alternate looks revealed by the team Tuesday that will be worn during the 2025 season. The Chargers also announced that they now have the option to wear powder blue pants with their regular jerseys, which are powder blue at home and white on the road. The Charger Power look features yellowish gold jerseys with matching pants, to be worn with the regular white helmet. 'If you're going to do gold, the way we did it with all gold, it looks amazing,' Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. said in a team news release. 'It's a great alternate!' When the Bolts don the uniforms Oct. 19 against the Indianapolis Colts at SoFi Stadium, it will be the first time Chargers players have worn gold jerseys in a game. Fans, however, have had the opportunity to wear them in the past. 'Nike had previously done a retail version of the 2020 jerseys in gold,' A.G. Spanos, the Chargers' president of business operations, said in a statement. 'It sold quite well and had really good word of mouth. In fact, in my own household, it was my kids' favorite uniform. It definitely appeals to the younger demographic.' The look has already garnered plenty of online reactions. One longtime fan, who appreciated the nod to the yellow 'Charger Power' T-shirts worn by Bolts faithful in the late 1970s and early 1980s, wrote on X that the uniforms are 'simply beautiful.' Retired NFL offensive lineman and current Amazon football analyst Andrew Whitworth spoke from experience after wearing similarly colored alternative uniforms on occasion during his time with the Rams. 'Been there done this,' Whitworth wrote on X. 'Had me out there looking like Big Bird!' The Minions, the cartoon characters from the 'Despicable Me' film franchise, seemed to like the uniforms ... though perhaps not for how they'll look on an NFL field. 'the new recruits look so cool,' the fictional creatures wrote on X in response to a team post highlighting the Charger Power look. Cam Jordan, a defensive end for the New Orleans Saints, had a more critical take, posting on X: 'Gold!???? Nah that's ... French's! That is mustard yellow…' One X user compared the look to that of a popular novelty baseball team. 'We look like damn Savannah Bananas,' the fan wrote. 'At least the Navy's are [fire emoji].' The latter part of that post referred to the team's second set of alternate duds: the Super Chargers uniforms. They feature navy blue jerseys, pants and helmets and are meant as a 'modern throwback' to the San Diego Chargers' look from 1992 to 2006 — a span that included the organization's only Super Bowl appearance, following the 1994 season. 'When you saw that jersey, more than likely you were in Qualcomm Stadium,' retired running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who played for the Chargers from 2001 to 2009, said in the team's news release. 'And, more than likely, if you were on the other team in that era you were leaving with a loss.' The Super Chargers uniforms will debut during the team's 'Thursday Night Football' game against the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 23, the same night the Chargers will be inducting former safety Rodney Harrison into the team's Hall of Fame. The uniforms will be worn again Nov. 30 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Wine experts reveal which celeb rosé — from Meghan Markle, Cameron Diaz, Jon Bon Jovi and Brad Pitt — is the best

Meghan Markle's acting career might have peaked with 'Suits,' but she's besting A-Listers with her new wine. In a blind taste test, Markle's As Ever rosé beat out pink vinos from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jon and Jesse Bon Jovi. 'This wine is good enough to be poured at Buckingham Palace,' said Christian Bendek, a certified sommelier from downtown Brooklyn who was part of a panel of top New York City wine experts The Post assembled for a tasting of celebrity wines. Markle's As Ever 2023 Napa Valley rosé swirled into the crowded celeb stunt wine space on July 1 — on what would have been Princess Diana's 64th birthday — selling out within an hour of its launch. The rosy sipper, which retails for $30 and is made from a blend of cabernet sauvignon, mourvedre, grenache and syrah grapes, is described on the As Ever website as having 'soft notes of stone fruit' with 'gentle minerality' and 'reminiscent of the finest Provencal styles.' 6 Meghan Markle's As Ever 2023 Napa Valley rosé hit the crowded celeb stunt wine market on July 1 — on what would have been Princess Diana's 64th birthday — selling out within an hour of its launch. JAKE ROSENBERG/NETFLIX 6 Markle's pink wine, which retails for $30, is made from a blend of cabernet sauvignon, mourvedre, grenache and syrah grapes. It's described on the As Ever website as having 'soft notes of stone fruit' with 'gentle minerality' and 'reminiscent of the finest Provencal styles.' Panelist Nikki McCutcheon, a sommelier and the wine director at Tao Group's Cathedrale and Sake No Hanna, said the rich and complex wine is worth its $30 price tag. 'It has a touch of cherry red fruit on the finish,' she enthused. 'This you could drink on its own or paired with food. It could pair very well with French, Mediterranean food. This one gets a star.' Bendek described the wine as 'coconut-ty, very tropical' and said it was more 'interesting' than many celebrity entries. The panel's second favorite wine was Miraval Rosé Cotes de Provence ($24.99). The French vineyard was purchased by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in 2008 and has been a $500 million sticking point in their nasty divorce battle. 6 In a blind taste test, Markle's new As Ever rosé (far right) beat out four other celebrity pink vinos. Other contenders included Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Miraval (from left), Jon and Jesse Bon Jovi's Hampton water, Cameron Diaz's Invivo X, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker and Cameron Diaz's Avaline. Emmy Park for NY Post But there's no drama in the easy drinking wine. 'It's really approachable. Nice minerality,' McCutcheon said of the widely available quaff, which is made with grenache, syrah and rolle grapes from the Provence region of France. Panelist Chris Miller, the managing partner at The Lamb's Club and co-founder of the Times Square wine window, also deemed it an 'approachable' summer sipper but said it 'needs more of a backbone.' (The same cannot be said for either Pitt or Jolie's divorce lawyer.) Our panel also liked the aptly named Hampton Water ($25.99) from Jon Bon Jovi and son Jesse Bon Jovi, rating the rock star rosé third. 6 The Post enlisted a panel of wine experts and sommeliers, including Chris Miller (from left), the managing partner at The Lamb's Club and co-founder of the Times Square wine window; Nikki McCutcheon, a sommelier and the wine director at Tao Group's Cathedrale and Sake No Hanna; and Christian Bendek, a certified sommelier from downtown Brooklyn. Emmy Park for NY Post Miller picked up on the wine's strawberry flavors, dubbing it 'crisp' and 'refreshing.' 'It's enjoyable,' McCutcheon said. Bendek immediately knew what he was drinking.'This is Hampton Water,' he declated after one sip. When it came to Sarah Jessica Parker's Invivo ($23.99), panelist couldn't help but wonder why the 'Sex and the City' star's wine wasn't better. 6 'This wine is good enough to be poured at Buckingham Palace,' said Bendek of Markle's pink wine. JAKE ROSENBERG/NETFLIX Miller noted it was 'not as refreshing' as some of the competition and wasn't suited for drinking on its own. Bendek was diplomatic but hardly enthusiastic. 'I don't hate it. Would I buy it? I don't know … How much would I pay for it? I'd keep it in the $15 range,' he said. 'The acid levels are a little higher here.' But it was Cameron Diaz's Avaline rosé ($19.99) that really missed the mark. 6 'It has a touch of cherry red fruit on the finish,' McCutcheon said of Markle's wine. 'This you could drink on its own or paired with food. It could pair very well with French, Mediterranean food. This one gets a star.' Emmy Park for NY Post It's 'a little dull' and 'missing something on the nose,' said Bendek of the last place winner, which is made in France and marketed as being organic and free of added sugar and artificial colors. Miller called the 'There's Something About Mary' star's vino 'very one dimensional' and not something he'd recommend serving to aficionados. McCutcheon agreed. 'This is for the masses,' he sniffed.

Iconic Waldorf-Astoria brings back Big Apple's ‘grand hotel' style — here's what guests can expect

The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel's September reopening, five years later than first planned, will be well worth the long wait. The magnificently restored, reborn Waldorf-Astoria brings back the Big Apple's 'grand hotel' style, with glorious public spaces open to everyone and worthy of the inn's iconic legacy. New York City's great hotel lobbies fell one by one over the decades. Even the Plaza's once-spectacular entrance is a shadow of its old self. Waldorf Astoria New York The Waldorf's public portion, on the other hand, is so large, I almost forgot that more than half of the building was converted to condo apartments. (The inn's 1,400 guest rooms were pared down to 375, although they're much larger than the old ones). The Waldorf hosted the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra, and global royalty. It was a key art of the city's celebration fabric for nearly a century. Advertisement But after it closed in 2017, relaunching it fell far behind schedule due to construction issues, COVID-19 and an unexpected change in Chinese ownership. The many delays that The Post first reported will be forgotten when visitors have their first look at the ground floor opening this week, before the first room guests arrive on Sept. 1. 8 A view of the lobby in 2014. Waldorf Astoria New York Advertisement The new Waldorf-Astoria, an Art Deco icon of New York City since 1931, is a sight to behold. Its landmarked lobby and Peacock Alley lounge between Park and Lexington avenues never looked so beautifully burnished since I first saw them a half-century ago. Two gorgeous new restaurants, a magnificent marble floor and a welcoming porte-cochere entrance on East 49th Street elevate the Waldorf to a higher realm than the faded, tourist-trampled inn of the recent past. Fears that 19th Century murals and other interior details would be lost turned out to be baseless. All were meticulously restored by project architect Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and interior designers Pierre-Yves Rochon and Jean-Louis Deniot under the watchful eyes of the Landmarks Preservation Commission. 8 Newly renovated Peacock Alley lounge between Park and Lexington avenues. AP The famous floor mosaic 'Wheel of Life' near the Park Avenue entrance is so perfectly restored, it looks as France's Louis Rigal assembled its 148,000 pieces this year rather than in 1931. Much of the vast ground floor was reconfigured to improve sightlines. The check-in counter that forced Peacock Alley revelers to stare at piles of luggage was relocated. Gone are old lounges such as notoriously tacky — and sometimes scandalous — Sir Harry's Bar. Peacock Alley's walls in dark maple and black marble columns are magically lighter on the eyes than previous blue panels. The Waldorf clock, commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1893, was cleaned and polished to look new. 8 Cole Porter's Steinway piano in Peacock Alley. His Steinway piano reposes serenely in the lobby where waitstaff sport outfits by designer Nicholas Oakwell — with silver silk blazers and waistcoats for women, three-piece check suits for men. The restaurants are a special pride of hotel managing director Luigi Romaniello. Lex Yard, a plush, two-level affair helmed by Gramercy chef Michael Anthony, opens on a limited basis for dinner tonight. Japanese cafe Yoshoku will open in stages as well.
