BKV Corp. Expands Strategic Partnership with Leading Midstream Operator to Advance Carbon Capture and Sequestration Development
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BKV Corporation ('BKV' or the 'Company') (NYSE: BKV) today announced the execution of an agreement with a leading diversified midstream energy company to develop a new carbon capture and sequestration ('CCS') project at a currently operating natural gas processing plant in East Texas. The agreement expands on a previously announced agreement between the companies to develop a separate CCS project at a location in South Texas. The new CCS project will be constructed on the same site as an existing East Texas natural gas processing plant and is expected to be operational in early 2027. Under the terms of the agreement, BKV forecasts approximately 70,000 metric tons per year of carbon dioxide ('CO 2 ') waste stream could be captured at the plant, which would then be delivered to BKV to be compressed, transported and permanently sequestered via BKV's co-located Class II injection well. The co-located Class II injection well eliminates the need to invest in a high-pressure pipeline. The East Texas CCS project will be owned by BKV, but may be transferred to the Company's recently announced CCS joint venture ('JV') with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. 'Deepening our relationships with key partners demonstrates their confidence in our technical and operating expertise in developing and scaling carbon capture, utilization and sequestration projects,' said Chris Kalnin, Chief Executive Officer of BKV. 'As demand for low-carbon energy solutions continues to grow, we are pleased to expand our existing business relationship with one of the largest midstream providers in the United States.' The new CCS project adds to BKV's carbon capture, utilization and sequestration ('CCUS') portfolio, which includes the operational CCS project at the Company's Barnett Zero site in north Texas, the aforementioned South Texas project and the Cotton Cove CCS project, which has reached FID and remains on track to begin initial sequestration operations in the first half of 2027. About BKV Corporation Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, BKV Corporation is a forward-thinking, growth-driven energy company focused on creating value for its stockholders. BKV's core business is to produce natural gas from its owned and operated upstream assets. BKV's overall business is organized into four business lines: natural gas production; natural gas gathering, processing and transportation; power generation; and carbon capture, utilization and sequestration. BKV (and its predecessor entity) was founded in 2015, and BKV and its employees are committed to building a different kind of energy company. BKV is one of the top 20 gas-weighted natural gas producers in the United States and the largest natural gas producer by gross operated volume in the Barnett Shale. BKV Corporation is the parent company for the BKV family of companies. Sona BLW enters China EV market, forms joint venture with Jinnaite Machinery
Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar) has announced that its Board of Directors has approved the formation of a joint venture in China with Jinnaite Machinery Co. Ltd. (JNT). The decision was taken at the board meeting held on Sunday, July 20, 2025. The new JV will focus on manufacturing and supplying driveline systems and components to automotive OEMs in China and around the world. Sona Comstar, or its wholly owned subsidiary, will invest $12 million and hold a 60% stake. JNT will hold the remaining 40% by contributing assets and existing business worth $8 million. JNT is known for its advanced foundry operations and serves a wide customer base across the automotive, aviation, marine, and railway sectors. The JV is expected to begin operations in the second half of FY25 and is a key part of Sona Comstar's strategy to expand in markets like China, India, Japan, and South Korea. The partnership combines Sona Comstar's strength in driveline technology with JNT's expertise in casting, molding, and strong local relationships—setting the stage for long-term growth. Vivek Vikram Singh, MD & Group CEO of Sona Comstar, stated, 'I am excited to partner with JNT to establish a driveline manufacturing plant in China. This joint venture marks a significant step in our strategy to expand into the rapidly growing Asian markets. As the largest electric vehicle market in the world and a leader in EV technologies, China offers tremendous opportunities for innovation and growth. By leveraging the strengths of both partners, this venture is well-positioned for strong growth, and it has the potential to become a key supplier of driveline solutions for electric vehicles in the region. With a robust order book already in place, we expect operations to commence later this year.' In the meantime, Sona BLW shares closed at ₹480.05 on Friday, down from the opening price of ₹486. The stock touched a high of ₹489 and a low of ₹473.40 during the day. Investors seem cautious as the stock remains far below its 52-week high of ₹768.65, though still above the 52-week low of ₹380. Dixon shares in focus as NITI Aayog proposes that Chinese companies can take a stake of up to 24% in an Indian company without any security clearance
Shares of Dixon Technologies are expected to remain in focus after a Reuters report revealed that NITI Aayog has proposed relaxing investment rules for Chinese companies, a move that could significantly benefit Indian manufacturers with potential Chinese partnerships, such as Dixon. According to three government sources cited by Reuters, the proposal would allow Chinese firms to hold up to a 24% stake in Indian companies without requiring security clearance from India's home and foreign ministries. Currently, all investments from Chinese entities require approvals, a process that has slowed or shelved several high-profile deals since being introduced in 2020 after India-China border tensions. The proposal is part of NITI Aayog's recommendations to boost foreign direct investment (FDI) into India and is reportedly being reviewed by the trade ministry, finance ministry, foreign ministry, and the Prime Minister's office. However, a final decision could still take months and will ultimately rest with political leadership. For Dixon and other Indian electronics manufacturers, easing of these rules could mean faster access to capital, technology partnerships, and increased competitiveness, especially as they expand production to meet growing domestic and export demand. In recent years, stringent rules have impacted investments like BYD's $1 billion electric car JV and contributed to India's FDI plunging to a record low of just $353 million last year, compared to nearly $44 billion in FY21. The move comes amid efforts to improve bilateral ties between India and China following military de-escalation and diplomatic engagement, including India's Foreign Minister visiting Beijing this week after five years. While the industries department reportedly supports easing the rules, other government bodies are yet to finalize their stance. The proposed change could also include revamping the board that decides on FDI proposals, Reuters reported. If implemented, the proposal could unlock significant opportunities for companies like Dixon Technologies, which already partners with global brands and stands to gain from easier Chinese investment.
