Motorola is launching yet another smartphone in India with its classic vegan leather textured finish and curved back. The new phone called Moto G96 will make its debut on 9 July is likely to compete with the likes of iQOO Z10 and Realme P3 in the sub- ₹ 20,000 price segment.
Moto G96 is confirmed to feature a 6.67 inch Full HD+ OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. The display is expected to come with a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and covered by the Corning's Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.
Much like other Motorola phones, the G96 will also come with IP68 water and dust resistance rating, meaning it should potentially be able to handle being submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
The phone will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor which also powers the likes of Motorola Edge 60 Stylus, Edge 60 Fusion and the Poco X6.
As for optics, the phone will come 50MP Sony LYT-700C primary shooter and an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens. There could also be a 32MP shooter on the front for taking selfies and attending video calls.
It should come running on Motorola's Hello UI based on Android 15. While there is no confirmation on the update cycle yet, if Motorola follows its pattern this year, the phone could feature 3 years of promised OS updates and 4 years of security patches.
It is confirmed to pack a 5,500mAh battery with support for 68W of wired fast charging. There is no update yet, however, on if it will also support wireless charging or not. Although considering that the phone is expected launch around the ₹ 20,000 price point, wireless charging does seem unlikely.
The phone will feature a plastic frame and an in-display fingerprint scanner for unlocking the device.

OnePlus has revealed the key specs of the more affordable OnePlus Nord CE 5 confirming the processor, battery capacity, and a few other details. As is often the case with the CE or core edition phones, the idea – OnePlus says – is to make 'the signature OnePlus experience accessible to the wider community.' Specifically for the Nord CE 5, it is promising 'a significant leap forward' presumably compared to the Nord CE that effect, the Nord 5 CE is set to launch with a 4-nanometre MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex processor paired with LPDDR5X RAM though the amount isn't specified at the time of writing. The TL;DR version is that OnePlus has decided to make the Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 look largely identical at least as far as base design is concerned. You can expect some model-specific colours with the Nord 5 coming in white and Nord CE 5 in OnePlus Nord 5 is confirmed to arrive with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and what is being billed as 'the category's largest cooling.' China's Vivo has announced that its next-generation book-style foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 5, will be launching in India soon. Though the company has not released the launch schedule, it has revealed key specifications of the smartphone including AI-powered features and battery capacity. Vivo X Fold 5 was launched in the company's home country last month, featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The Indian variant of the smartphone is expected to be along the same line. Vivo X Fold 5: What to expect Vivo has confirmed that the X Fold 5 in India will pack a 6,000mAh battery and support 80W wired charging, similar to the Chinese counterpart. Vivo will also continue with its collaboration with the German optics brand Zeiss, offering a triple camera set-up at the rear with a 50MP telephoto camera. For durability, the Vivo X Fold 5 is said to come with IPX8/IPX9 rating for water resistance, and IP5X rating for dust resistance. Vivo also said that the smartphone has been tested for 6,00,000 'reliable foldings' to ensure the durability of the hinge mechanism. Coming to the design, the X Fold 5 will have a sleek profile measuring 9.2mm when folded and 4.3mm when unfolded. As for the AI-powered features, Vivo X Fold 5 will offer AI Image Studio within the Gallery app for smart image editing tools. It will also offer several productivity features such as AI Smart Office for summarising meetings using AI. The smartphone will also feature a customisable side-mounted button for accessing controls such as sound profiles, torch, camera and even launching individual apps.
