Strong earthquake hits Mindanao, Philippines
KUALA LUMPUR — A strong earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale occurred near Mindanao, Philippines at 7.07 am today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department, in a statement, said the quake occurred at a depth of 109 kilometres (km), about 141 km north of Talaud Island, Indonesia.
However, it poses no tsunami threat to Malaysia, it said. — BERNAMA
