3 Found 'Unresponsive' A Day After Plane Crashed In Ocean Off California Coast
Three people were found unresponsive Sunday morning after a small airplane crashed in the Pacific Ocean off the central California coast, authorities said.
Emergency crews responded late Saturday following reports of a plane down about 300 yards (275 meters) off Point Pinos in Monterey County, the US Coast Guard said.
Witnesses said they heard an aircraft engine revving and then a splash in the water, KSBW-TV reported. People on shore later reported seeing debris wash up from the crashed plane.
The twin-engine Beech 95-B55 Baron with three people aboard took off from the San Carlos airport at 10:11 pm and was last seen at 10:37 pm near Monterey, according to flight tracking data from FlightAware.com.
Coast Guard boat and helicopter crews were launched to search for the victims, with assistance from local law enforcement and fire agencies.
Searchers in a boat found one person around 3 am. Divers found the remaining two people inside the aircraft between 6:30 am and 9:15 am. All three were unresponsive, the Coast Guard said.
'In this case unresponsive means no signs of life, however it is the coroner's office and Sheriff's office that make the distinction of dead,' Petty Officer Ryan Graves said in an email. Messages were sent to the coroner's office seeking more information.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.

Three Killed After Private Plane Crashes Off Monterey Bay In California
The crash site was approximately 300 yards (about 275 metres) off the coast of Point Pinos in Monterey County. Three individuals on board a small private aircraft were found dead after the plane crashed into the waters off Monterey Bay, California, as reported by Associated Press. According to the US Coast Guard, the victims were located unresponsive on the morning of Sunday, July 27. Emergency crews had responded to the scene the night before, shortly after the crash occurred. The aircraft involved was identified as a Beech 95-B55 Baron, a twin-engine light plane. It departed from San Carlos Airport at 10:11 pm local time. However, the flight was abruptly cut short, with its final recorded location logged near Monterey at 10:37 pm, according to flight tracking platform Flightradar24. Debris from the aircraft was later spotted floating near the shoreline, as reported by KSBW-TV. Following the initial reports, the US Coast Guard, in coordination with local fire departments and law enforcement agencies, launched an immediate search and rescue operation using both boats and helicopters. At around 3:00 am, the first individual was discovered on the water by a Coast Guard boat crew. Later, divers located the other two missing passengers inside the submerged wreckage between 6:30 am and 9:30 am. 'At the time of recovery, all three individuals were unresponsive," said Petty Officer Ryan Graves in a statement to the Associated Press. 'In this case, unresponsive means no signs of life. 32 officers graduate from Coast Guard training centre
Thirty-two Assistant Commandants of the 80th batch of Indian Coast Guard officers successfully passed out from the Indian Coast Guard Training Centre, Kochi (CGTC(K)), on Tuesday (July 29). The day marked the completion of their Coast Guard Law and Operations course. A passing-out parade (POP) was held at the Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 4, Kochi, and was reviewed by Inspector General Datwinder Singh Saini, TM, Commander, Coast Guard Region (East), according to a release. The officers received comprehensive instructions in Indian Coast Guard-specific subjects during the 11-week training programme. The curriculum covered Maritime Law, Search and Rescue Operations, Fisheries Monitoring and Control, Marine Pollution Prevention, and various other aspects central to the ICG Charter of Duties. Assistant Commandant B.G.V.S. Jagan was awarded Best in Academics for securing the highest marks in the course. The prestigious Director General's Sword of Honour (for the 79th Batch) was awarded to Assistant Commandant Yatesh Rawat for achieving the first position in the overall order of merit, it said.
