Rafizi backs PKR disciplinary board's fair campaign call, warns against selective enforcement
Rafizi, who is also the Economy Minister, said the board's guidelines are capable of promoting healthy competition within the party, but they must be implemented consistently.
"If people recall the personal attacks against me, they happened suddenly, with statement after statement being issued, including claims of rejection by the grassroots.
"Later, statements emerged accusing me of neglecting the grassroots. These are baseless allegations, and the PKR disciplinary board must take action against all parties responsible for creating this situation.
"In addition, I have also been targeted by irresponsible groups on social media, which should not occur.
"However, I view this as part of the challenges during the campaign period," he said at a press conference after the Hidupkan Idealisme Reformasi dalam Ujian Kuasa (HIRUK) tour programme at the state National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN) Complex in Tanjong Chat last night.
Also present were PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar and PKR vice-president Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
Rafizi expressed his hope that his opponents would not "throw stones and hide their hands" by attacking him and then reporting him to the disciplinary board when he responds, as if they had done nothing wrong.
"The process is straightforward. If anyone feels that a candidate has violated party protocols, they can lodge a complaint, and the disciplinary board can then conduct a fair investigation.
"As for me, if there is a desire to debate and determine who is better, I will highlight my opponent's weaknesses, and you can do the same. I don't go around making complaints or reports," he said.
Previously, the media reported that the PKR disciplinary board had reminded all candidates and their supporters not to tarnish the party's image and to refrain from personal attacks and baseless accusations during the final stage of the party elections.
Its chairperson, Datin Paduka Dr Tan Yee Kew, said candidates should instead focus their campaigns on policy discussions and ideas.
She said actions involving personal attacks, open conflict, and making derogatory public statements against party members are inappropriate, unacceptable, and would only harm party unity.

Cash aid and other measures shows Govt's commitment, says Ramanan
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's announcement of cash aid for all Malaysians demonstrates the Madani government's commitment to supporting people of all races, religions, and backgrounds, says Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Datuk Seri R. Ramanan. He stated that, alongside the cash aid, major measures such as targeted subsidies, cost of living reduction initiatives, and record high investments reflect the government's concern for all levels of society, including the Indian community. "Nandri PM (Thank you PM). This is another very important and timely announcement. The one-off RM100 Sara Assistance via MyKad to all citizens aged 18 and above, along with the increased allocation for Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) to RM15bil in 2025, is evidence of the government's commitment to providing comprehensive assistance," he said in a statement. Ramanan added that the implementation of the Sejahtera Madani initiative, involving cooperation between the government and the corporate sector, offers new hope in addressing extreme poverty, particularly among urban and rural communities of all races. He also praised the government as brave and responsible for postponing toll rate increases, lowering electricity bills for most users, and expediting appointments for more than 4,000 job vacancies in the healthcare sector, including contract doctors. "The increase in the minimum wage to RM1,700 from August shows the government's determination to defend workers' rights. This has a significant impact, especially on youth and industrial workers," said Ramanan. Ramanan, who is also the Vice President of PKR, commended the government's efforts in attracting investments amounting to RM384bil last year, the highest in the country's history. He noted the country's rise to 23rd place in the 2025 World Competitiveness Index as another significant achievement. He emphasized that all these efforts manifest the Madani government's inclusive and fair approach to ensuring shared prosperity. "The Madani government works for the people of Malaysia based on concern and justice for all Malays, Chinese, Indians, Sabahans, and Sarawakians," he said. Ramanan urged the people to continue supporting the government's reform agenda, focusing on the people's well-being, economic sustainability, and national unity.

Anwar: Critics of judiciary ignore lessons from Reformasi era
SHAH ALAM: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has criticised those who he said appear ignorant of the nation's political history when commenting on the judiciary. Anwar, who is also PKR president, said those who lived through the Reformasi era understand that the judiciary must remain the country's main pillar and be free from political interference. He cited the works of renowned cartoonist Zulkiflee Anwar Haque, better known as Zunar, whose illustrations chronicled the public outrage during that period over corruption, abuse of power and manipulated court decisions. "Sometimes when people talk about the judiciary, I feel some of them act as if they know nothing at all about history — people who were once complicit in all the oppression and injustice of the past, now wanting to speak about freedom. "On the other hand, for us who lived through it, we believe and we are convinced that the key lesson is that the judiciary, which is the main pillar of the country, should be without political interference, because our experience has shown that we must be more mature as such interference leads to the abuse of the innocent. "The same applies to economic management, such as the Scorpene and 1MDB scandal that was illustrated in in the cartoon," he said during the launch of the book "Melukis dengan Hati: Biografi Perjalanan Seni 50 Tahun" by Zunar here today. Anwar said Zunar's work is important not only in terms of uncovering historical chapters, but also serves as a lesson on what Malaysia must learn from and what is to be avoided. "To save the country, there must be a clear separation of powers and shared responsibility. "If we assume that the judiciary is a noble institution, history has shown that it has, at times, been tainted by corruption and abuse of power. "Likewise, the position of the prime minister or finance minister, even if entrusted to someone believed to carry out their duties well, has, in reality, been misused to amass excessive wealth. "And all of this is captured in Zunar's work," he said.
