A day after becoming the second highest grossing Hindi film of 2025, Mohit Suri's romantic drama Saiyaara has added another feather to its cap. The Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda-starrer has now crossed the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide after adding another Rs 30 crore to its domestic box office collection on the second Sunday. Saiyaara had already crossed Rs 280 crore worldwide on Saturday.
Saiyaara India box office collection
On its 10th day at the domestic box office, Saiyaara collected Rs 30 crore, yet another jump from its Saturday (day 9) collection of Rs 26.5 crore. The film breached the daily limit of Rs 20 crore on Saturday after two days of earning less than that. Besides day 10, Saiyaara managed to cross the Rs 30 crore mark in a day only last Sunday (day 3) when it earned Rs 35.75 crore, another major spike from its Saturday (day 2) earnings of Rs 26 crore.
As per Sacnilk, the box office collection of Saiyaara in India now stands at Rs 247.25 crore. The film has already crossed the domestic box office collections of several superstar films like Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5 (Rs 198.41 crore), Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 (Rs 179.30 crore), and Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 165.85 crore).
Saiyaara is second biggest box office earner if 2025
Saiyaara's current domestic box office collection is only next to that of Laxman Utekar's period action film Chaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, which earned Rs 615.39 crore. It's a long way to go before Suri's film can even come close to that record. With fresh competition in Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 and Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri-starrer Dhadak 2 coming in this Friday, the progress of Saiyaara is likely to slow down.
Saiyaara marks the debut of Ahaan Panday, who's the first cousin of actor Ananya Panday and the nephew of Chunky Panday. It is also the first lead outing for Padda, who first made an impression in the Prime Video India series Big Girls Don't Cry last year. The film also stars actors Geeta Agarwal, Rajesh Kumar, Varun Badola and Shaad Randhawa in prominent roles.
Produced by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films, the official logline of the film reads, 'Passionate lovers navigate a rollercoaster romance, facing euphoric highs and crushing lows while desperately clinging to their tumultuous bond.' It also marks the debut of YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani as producer.

Last week, Aamir Khan congratulated the team of Saiyaara by posting a note on the official social media handles of his banner, Aamir Khan Productions. 'Congratulations to the entire team of 'Saiyaara' on its remarkable theatrical success! Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda shine in their debut film with such grace and depth. Mohit Suri brings his intensity and passion to the film, and full credit to YRF for championing this melodious and and heartfelt story.' Not only Aamir, but also other industry stalwarts like Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar have congratulated the team of Saiyaara for the resounding success.

Kerala unveils draft film policy; focus on financial framework, gender equality, global presence According to the draft, film production and exhibition will be designated as an industry, enabling access to various incentives and easing financing processes. "The recognition of film production as an industry will bring multiple advantages, enhancing transparency and promoting social responsibility within the sector," the policy stated. The government aims to ensure opportunities for all sections of society to contribute to Malayalam cinema's growth, positioning it as a key global stakeholder and preserving its cultural heritage for future generations. The vision statement outlines the goal of building a strong visual communication ecosystem, ensuring equality across related sectors, and transforming Kerala into a regional production hub by adopting advanced technology and increasing the industry's contribution to the state's GDP. The draft notes that India is the world's largest film producer, with over 2,000 releases annually. Hindi cinema leads with about 400 films a year, followed closely by Malayalam with approximately 300. In 2015, India was the fourth-largest film market globally, with theatrical revenue of USD 2.1 billion. Between 2016 and 2021, the Indian film industry grew at an annual rate of 7.7 per cent. The film industry is optimistic about cinema exhibition prospects this year, with experts estimating theatrical revenue for 2023 in India at around ₹12,000 crore. Kerala alone recorded box office collections exceeding ₹2,000 crore in 2023, the draft said. The policy affirms the government's commitment to continued dialogue with various film industry associations, supporting demands for better wages, job security, medical benefits, and insurance. A general financing incentive scheme for Malayalam cinema will be introduced, with specific provisions for women and marginalised communities. The draft also encourages the production of other Indian languages and foreign films in Kerala. A dedicated film development fund will support promotional and humanitarian initiatives outlined in the policy. A venture capital fund for film production, with private participation and crowdfunding options for socially relevant films, will be created and managed by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation . To promote an equitable work environment, the state will issue detailed guidelines and best practices for the film industry. A single-window film facilitation centre will be established to streamline all shooting-related permits in the state. A Film Development Council, chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and co-chaired by Culture Minister Saji Cherian, with an industry representative as vice-chairman, will be established as the apex body to oversee the development of the film industry. The council will monitor industry activities and recommend policy interventions to the state cabinet as required. The draft policy was distributed among delegates and will be discussed in detail during the two-day conclave, which concludes on Sunday, official sources said. Siddhant Chaturvedi, Triptii Dimri starer Dhadak 2 struggles at box office, earns ₹3.65 on Day 1

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 2 (ANI): The much-awaited romantic drama 'Dhadak 2,' starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, finally hit theatres this Friday. While the film had generated curiosity for its fresh pairing, its box office performance on Day 1 fell short of expectations. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the sequel to 'Dhadak' earned ₹ 3.65 crore on its first day in India. The film's release clashed with Ajay Devgn's starer 'Son of Sardaar 2.' With two major films hitting theatres on the same day, movie buffs seem to have divided their attention, which could be one reason why the film fell short of expectations. Adding to the pressure was the continued success of Ahaan Panday's Saiyaara at the box office. The romantic drama, which hit theatres earlier on July 18, is still performing strongly. This seems to have affected the Siddhant and Dimri starrer. 'Dhadak 2' is a follow-up to 2018's 'Dhadak' and a remake of filmmaker Mari Selvaraj's 2018 Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. As per Adarsh, the sequel's first-day numbers are below expectations, especially when compared to its first instalment, 'Dhadak,' which starred Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. The film had earned ₹ 8.71 crore on its opening day back then. All eyes are now on the weekend collections to see if the film can pick up pace.
