In this edition of our bi-weekly 'Shuffle' playlist, we've packed in new releases from both up-and-coming and established artists across the MENA region, spanning pop, shaabi, hip-hop, and electronic music.
Featured on the playlist is Cairo-based trio Sharmoofers—Ahmed Bahaa, Mohamed El-Arkan, and Farra—with their track 'Unfollow', from their latest EP of the same name. Beirut-based label Thawra Records also contributes to the mix, adding to its growing catalogue of experimental releases with 'Kharif' from the five-track EP 'Masar' by Rust.
Further down the playlist, Chiati's 'Cairo Traffic' stands out as a hypnotic afro-melodic house track that captures the pulse of the city's chaos. Amro Zidan Maps the 'Ecstasy of Mania' on New Experimental LP
Across 18 tracks, the Alexandria-born artist blends frenetic rhythms, distorted noise, and industrial textures with trippy influences from Egyptian shaabi music. Jul 31, 2025 Alexandria-based artist Amro Zidan dives headfirst into the chaotic euphoria of manic episodes on his new experimental LP, 'Ecstasy of Mania'. Across 18 tracks, Zidan blends frenetic rhythms, distorted noise, and industrial textures with trippy influences from Egyptian shaabi music. The project reframes mania not as a breakdown, but as a combustible source of creativity, if one dares to treat it as a companion. The opener, 'Outta Control', plunges you straight into the frenzied impulses and disorganized thoughts of a manic state. A flurry of sped-up beats and abrasive textures clash with fleeting, aggressive tabla patterns. There's no clear structure, only a raw, disorienting sonic spiral that mirrors the disorder within. 'On Bow Leg Eye', hallucinations come in with heavily processed, warped vocals drifting over glitchy melodic fragments and scattered percussive sounds. Meanwhile, the title track further escalates the chaos, fusing psychedelic shaabi keys with clanging metal and pulsing industrial rhythms. 'Dose Please (Argook El Gor3a)' brings in a moment of dark humor, sampling a one-liner from an Egyptian cult favourite comedy 'Wesh Egram'. But the joke quickly sours as jagged, deconstructed rhythms and industrial synths creep in, signaling tension, and perhaps the looming threat of a crash. By the time 'No Return' arrives with what sounds like broken radio transmission underlined by distorted basslines, evoking a descent into the abyss.

Innovation Crew Transforms Emirates Palace in 48 Hours for BRABUS Island Launch - Middle East Business News and Information
Cosmo Developments, BRABUS, and Innovation Crew deliver a full-scale brand takeover inside one of the world's most iconic venues. July, UAE: BRABUS Island , the first ever branded residential project by German performance brand BRABUS, made its regional debut in April with a high-speed launch at Emirates Palace. Developed by Cosmo Developments – powered by Reportage Group – the concept was unveiled at an event produced by Innovation Crew, who were tasked with delivering a fully immersive brand experience under strict venue and time constraints. The event introduced one of the boldest real estate concepts in the region. The brief was clear: transform one of the world's most iconic venues into a trademark BRABUS experience. No walls could be touched. The brand's bold, black-on-black aesthetic had to be felt in every detail. And it had to be done in 48 hours. 'We had just a few days to finalize the creative, plan the journey, source materials, rehearse, and execute,' said Sony AbdelMohsen, General Manager of Innovation Crew. 'When they told us they wanted to dim the gold, I laughed. But they weren't kidding – and neither were we, once the brief was in.' At the time, the agency was already managing eight large-scale campaigns across eight countries. With just 48 hours on the clock, the transformation was delivered on schedule. Additional crew were flown in from Riyadh and Cairo to support the Dubai-based team, with more than 50 specialists managing production, design, guest experience, and technology. Innovation Crew's leadership was also present on-site throughout the execution. To match BRABUS' signature black-on-black aesthetic, custom materials were sourced across the UAE, including carpets, furniture, cutlery, and textiles. Emirates Palace staff worked in close coordination with the agency to ensure all installations respected the venue's preservation guidelines. 'We couldn't alter the structure, but we had to silence it,' added Sony. 'Every shadow, spotlight, and surface was calculated. And if black plates and cutlery were missing across the UAE in April or May, you can probably blame us.' The result was a powerful sensory environment that brought the BRABUS universe to life without compromising the heritage space. The launch sparked significant digital traction, generating organic impressions across social media and online platforms, setting the benchmark for future branded real estate projects. It has been recognised as one of the most commercially successful real estate showcases of the year. This was not Innovation Crew's first moment in the spotlight. The agency is behind some of the region's most talked-about experiences, including Pepsi Titan's iconic takeover at Ain Dubai and other landmarks in the region, ADNOC's Youth Centers closing ceremony in collaboration with CAF, British Petroleum's West Nile Delta launch, Philips' Guinness World Record event at the Pyramids, and the opening of BSH's first factory in Africa. About Innovation Crew Group Innovation Crew is a regional BTL powerhouse with a presence across the MENA region, specializing in high-profile brand launches and immersive experiences. With teams in Dubai, Cairo, and Riyadh, the agency is trusted by brands like Pepsi, Lay's, Samsung, Nissan, and Total Energies to deliver seamless, high-impact execution when it matters most. UK Begins Development of High-Altitude Surveillance Balloons
Israa Farhan The British Ministry of Defense has announced the development of high-altitude unmanned surveillance balloons designed to support national security and enhance military reconnaissance capabilities. According to an official statement published on the Ministry's website, the new program focuses on creating drone-guided balloons capable of conducting surveillance, monitoring, and enemy force detection missions as part of the government's broader defense transformation agenda. The balloons were tested earlier this year in South Dakota, United States. During the trials, the aircraft demonstrated an impressive range of over 2,000 nautical miles while flying at altitudes between 18,000 and over 24,000 meters. The Ministry confirmed that the tested models can carry payloads of up to three kilograms and remain operational for more than five consecutive days. This innovative project is being developed through a partnership between UK-based defence firms Volant Autonomy and Landguard Systems, with additional technical collaboration from the US company Aerostar. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language
