'The Punjab government has established a dedicated police force to confront the growing menace of drug abuse and assist in the rehabilitation of addicts,' she said while sharing a video of the Anti-Narcotics Force's inauguration by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on social media.
Azma Bokhari emphasised that a zero-tolerance policy against drugs is now in effect across the province. She reaffirmed the government's commitment to making Punjab drug-free, adding that every possible step is being taken to protect the youth from falling into the trap of substance abuse.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal called on the international community to ensure India adheres to the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT). He also highlighted the government's successful efforts in curbing inflation through tough policy measures, which have restored investor confidence and driven the Pakistan Stock Exchange beyond the 130,000-point mark. Professor Iqbal stressed the importance of revitalising the previously established partnership between the ministry and the World Bank to accelerate progress in national development projects. The minister noted that the global economy is transitioning from an industrial-based to a technology-driven model, underscoring the need for Pakistan to adapt accordingly. The minister further underscored the government's commitment to addressing child stunting issue, describing it as a serious national challenge requiring urgent and effective intervention. He added that education remains a priority, with rising enrollment rate of girls in higher education signalling positive progress. Professor Iqbal stressed the pivotal role of women in achieving development goals, affirming the ministry's commitment to fostering women's active participation in all socio-economic initiatives. IK summoned on 30th: Non-bailable arrest warrants of Shibli issued
LAHORE: A city magistrate on Friday issued non-bailable arrest warrants of PTI Senator Shibli Faraz and summoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan also on July 30 in a case of attack on Islamabad police outside Zaman Park. The magistrate in his decision noted that Senator Faraz failed to appear before the court, therefore, 'he be summoned through non-bailable warrant of arrest.' Racecourse police had registered the case in 2023. An Islamabad police team had visited the Zaman Park residence of Imran Khan for the service of a court's summon. Pakistan reaffirms commitment to GSP+
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday underscored the European Union's status as one of Pakistan's foremost trading partners and reaffirmed the government's commitment to the Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+), describing it as a mutually beneficial arrangement. The prime minister, during a meeting with the outgoing Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan, Dr Riina Kionka – who paid a farewell call as she concluded her diplomatic tenure – acknowledged her contributions to strengthening Pakistan-EU relations.
