Elizabeth Hurley stuns in Gaurav Gupta couture: A vintage glamour revival

Time of India2 days ago
Elizabeth Hurley embodies Old Hollywood glamour in a stunning Gaurav Gupta couture gown for Ellen von Unwerth's magazine. The moonstone ivory column dress, adorned with crystals and sequins, features long sleeves and a flowing trail. Hurley's minimal accessories and smoky eyes enhance the gown's drama, solidifying her status as a timeless icon.
If you thought Old Hollywood glamour was a thing of the past,
Elizabeth Hurley
is here to prove you wrong and how. The Bedazzled star recently channelled full-blown vintage diva vibes in a breathtaking couture gown by Indian designer extraordinaire
Gaurav Gupta
, and honestly, it might be one of her most iconic looks yet.
In a shoot for Ellen von Unwerth's magazine, Elizabeth slipped into what can only be described as a showstopper: a moonstone ivory column gown straight out of Gaurav Gupta's Autumn-Winter '24 couture collection. Think long sleeves, a sequin-drenched high neck, and a trail that flowed like liquid silver. Covered in shimmering crystals, sequins, and glitter, the gown was all drama - just the kind of drama we want at a photoshoot.
Now, when your outfit's doing the most, the smart thing to do is pull back on the accessories and Liz did just that. No chunky jewellery, no over-the-top bling. Just a pair of delicate diamond earrings and a few elegant, stone-studded rings that nodded to the gown's opulence without competing with it. No necklace, no bracelets. Just pure, minimal class.
Her makeup? Equally on point. Glowing skin, a soft matte base, and that perfect blush-contour combo that gave her cheeks a sculpted, rosy glow.

She went with a pink-tinted lip to brighten things up, while her smoky eyes with kohl, fluttery lashes, and a hint of silvery eyeshadow, added that retro femme fatale edge.
Of course, no Gaurav Gupta look is complete without a little extra drama, and the white fur stole draped casually over her shoulders delivered just that. It added that final layer of luxe that made the whole look feel like it belonged on a red carpet or better yet, a classic black-and-white film set.
If you know Gaurav Gupta, you know he's a master of sculptural silhouettes and experimental textures, and this gown was peak Gaurav. The metallic 3D embroidery, that signature 'crystal erosion' effect, and the fluid design gave the dress that futuristic-meets-classic vibe that's become his trademark. No wonder the designer captioned his Instagram post, 'Elizabeth Hurley wears Gaurav Gupta Couture for the Ellen Von Unwerth's Magazine issue.
'
And it's not just Liz who's fallen for his magic. Gaurav's pieces have already graced the likes of Beyoncé, Cardi B, Lizzo, Jenna Ortega, Megan Thee Stallion, you name it. His designs have shown up at Cannes, the Grammys, the Met Gala… you get the idea. He's global. And seeing Elizabeth Hurley in one of his creations? It's the crossover we didn't know we needed.
Elizabeth Hurley isn't just wearing a gown. She's wearing a story, one that blends classic Hollywood charm with bold Indian couture. And we are so here for it.

Five Years Of Dil Bechara: Sanjana Sanghi Reflects On Her Journey As Kizie Basu

New Delhi: It's been five years since Sushant Singh Rajput's last film Dil Bechara hit the screens and left an indelible impact on hearts across the country. The movie, an adaptation of John Green's The Fault in Our Stars, marked Sanjana Sanghi's debut in a leading role. Remembering the character of Kizie Basu, a young girl who battled thyroid cancer, Sanjana said, 'My five years since Dil Bechara have been both incredibly rewarding and challenging. Since I don't belong to Mumbai, I've independently navigated a new world, trying to learn, grow, and evolve daily. I'm immensely grateful for every opportunity and have poured my all into them. The unwavering love from Kizie Basu's fans has been my constant support. While I've had to miss milestones with family back home in Delhi, I've been fortunate to build a cherished new family here in Mumbai.' Her chemistry with late co-star Sushant Singh Rajput, who played Manny, brought the story to life with equal parts joy, sorrow, and poignancy. Under Mukesh Chhabra's direction, Dil Bechara became more than just a film , it became a memory etched into Indian pop culture. For many, Dil Bechara remains a deeply emotional film, partly because of the untimely loss of Sushant Singh Rajput and partly due to the sincerity with which Sanjana portrayed Kizie's pain, hope, and spirit. It was a performance that felt personal, relatable, and real. As fans continue to revisit the film, it's clear that Dil Bechara wasn't just the beginning of Sanjana Sanghi's career — it was her emotional breakthrough. Five years on, Kizie Basu still lives in the hearts of audiences, and so does Sanjana's unforgettable performance. The film Dil Bechara was directed by Mukesh Chhabra and is an adaptation of John Green's popular novel The Fault in Our Stars. In the film, Sushant and Sanjana played terminally ill cancer patients. Unfortunately, it was Sushant Singh Rajput's last film and marked his posthumous appearance after his tragic death on June 14, 2020. The actor was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020. His sudden death sent shock waves across his family, friends, and fans. The 34-year-old star, in a short span of time, earned the love of his followers, leaving behind a lasting memory. Actress Sanjana Sanghi made her acting debut as a child in the Ranbir Kapoor–Nargis Fakhri starrer Rockstar in 2011. Post that, she featured in supporting roles in popular films such as Hindi Medium and Fukrey Returns.
