Amazon rolls out Gopuff ultra-fast grocery deliveries across UK

The launch means shoppers can order thousands of grocery products including alcohol, snacks and fresh food at any time of day.
Gopuff promises same-day delivery from local 'micro-fulfilment centres' – with orders arriving in under an hour and as fast as 15 minutes, available all day, every day.
The Pennsylvania-based company was one of a clutch of ultra-fast grocery delivery companies that expanded quickly during the Covid-19 pandemic when lockdowns heightened consumer demand.
Turkey-based rival Getir pulled out of the UK, Europe and the US last year after its finances came under pressure and it kickstarted a cost-cutting drive.
Amazon's UK roll-out of Gopuff follows an initial launch to residents in Birmingham and Salford in May.
The service is now available in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Chessington, Coventry, Derby, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Salford, Sheffield and Swansea.
It joins grocery retailers Morrisons and Iceland, which are available to Amazon's UK customers.
Russell Jones, Amazon's director of grocery partnerships, said: 'We are always working to give customers more choice and more convenient options to have their groceries delivered.
'The new launch with Gopuff brings our customers access to a convenient and affordable way to access their everyday groceries.'

Prime Day shoppers rush to buy £95 Kindle for £75 – here's why it's the one you should buy

AMAZON Prime Day is back, and this Kindle deal is one you don't want to miss. The latest Kindle (16GB) has dropped from £94.99 to just £74.99, and it's no surprise shoppers are moving fast to grab it. 1 Kindle (2024) 16GB, £94.99 £74.99 Amazon has slashed prices across all Kindles for Prime Day, but this latest model is the one I'm recommending to everyone. It's currently the second-best selling e-reader on Amazon. The latest Kindle is on sale for just £74.99, a real bargain for what it offers. When the Kindle (2022) launched, I gave it high praise as the best entry-level Kindle around. Since then, it's had a few upgrades that make it even better. It's now the lightest and most compact Kindle in the lineup, and those small changes really add up. The front light is 25% brighter, perfect if you like reading outdoors or in well-lit rooms. The screen has a higher contrast ratio, so text will look sharper, clearer, and easier on your eyes. Page turns are faster too, meaning flipping through your favourite books should feel smoother and more natural. Visually, not much has changed aside from a fresh Matcha colour option, and you still get that trusty 6-inch glare-free display. You can check out my Kindle 2022 review for the full details, but this new version builds on everything that made it great. There are a few things that haven't changed, but as they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. You've still got 16GB of storage; enough room for thousands of books, so your 'to-be-read' pile can keep growing without worry. Battery life remains impressive too, lasting up to six weeks on a single charge, depending on how much you read. It's not just me singing the e-reader's praises; thousands of glowing reviews and a solid 4.5-star rating prove shoppers are just as impressed. One shopper shared, 'The storage is perfect, I have just shy of 3000 books on it and I've only used a little under 4GB of space.' Another added, 'The glare-free display is a delight, even in bright sunlight, and the front light is fully adjustable so I can read comfortably.' They went on to say, 'Page turns are noticeably faster than older models, making switching between books or chapters smoother.' Tesco's award-winning Irish liqueur named 'better than Bailey's' is cheaper than Amazon

Tesco's award-winning Irish liqueur named 'better than Bailey's' is cheaper than Amazon The family-owned Coole Swan brand has been making award-winning Irish cream liqueur for years and now you can pick up a bottle for less at Tesco Coole Swan's Irish Cream Liqueur has gone down a treat in taste tests - and is now cheaper at Tesco (Image: Coole Swan ) For those who savour the creamy delight of Irish cream, a leisurely summer evening with a glass of this indulgent beverage is pure bliss. While Baileys may be the go-to choice for many, our shopping editor has another recommendation that's currently on offer at Tesco. Coole Swan, an award-winning Irish cream liqueur, is now retailing at £20 in selected Tesco outlets for Clubcard holders, down from its usual price of £26.50. This equates to a saving of £6.50 on a drink that some fans describe as 'like Baileys, but better.' It's also more affordable than Amazon's listed price of £25.95. Made with single-malt Irish whiskey, Belgian white chocolate, and fresh dairy cream sourced from the brand's family farm in Ireland, Coole Swan is a testament to premium ingredients and careful blending. One customer even claimed it's in a 'different league' compared to other beverages. Our shopping editor, Narin Flanders, also endorses Coole Swan. She sampled it alongside Baileys, a perennial favourite, and was impressed. Shop the range £26.50 £20 Coole Swan Buy Now on Coole Swan Product Description Coole Swan is made with single malt Irish whiskey, Belgian white chocolate and fresh dairy cream from the brand's family farm in Ireland. Narin explained: "Putting the two glasses next to each other, it's easy to see one of the key differences in ingredients reflected in the colour of the glorious nectars. Coole Swan's Belgian white chocolate origins give it a lighter colour than Baileys' rumoured milk chocolate blend. You'd imagine that Coole Swan, being white chocolate-based, would taste sweeter, but to my surprise - and possibly due to the strength of the malt -it tasted more mellow, smoother, and had less of an initial kick. "While I love Baileys, for me, the taste comes in stages - you have the initial sweet scent and then the first hit of warmth when you swallow, and then it's eased by the cream that extinguishes the fire. Coole Swan has all of the same elements, but somehow they blend in a way where you get them all simultaneously - there's no fiery undertone and no sweet hit; it's just all beautifully, perfectly balanced from the first sip." Narin continued: "Both drinks have a similar alcohol volume - Baileys is 17% while Coole Swan is 16% ABV - but Coole Swan feels less boozy, making it drinkable to the point of moreish. But for me, there's one thing that makes Coole Swan a next-level Irish cream choice and worth the slightly more expensive price tag." Coole Swan has won several awards, including Double Gold at the San Francisco Wine & Spirits Awards (Image: Coole Swan ) While there are numerous alternatives on the market, Hotel Chocolat's Espresso Martini flavoured vodka liqueur (£23) stands out, often described as a liquid tiramisu. Another contender is Micil Connemara Irish Cream Liqueur, albeit at a slightly steeper price of £27.67. Turning our attention back to Coole Swan, the brand has garnered over 1,200 reviews and boasts an impressive 4.7-star average rating on Amazon. In a similar vein, Tesco customers have awarded the liqueur a remarkable 4.7 out of five stars. One particularly pleased customer praised its superior quality, stating: "This is so beautiful, creamy and a better class of liqueur. Move over, Baileys, there's a new drink in town." Article continues below On the other hand, a different shopper found it to be: "Nice drink but too sweet." Yet another reviewer was effusive in their praise: "The most delicious Irish cream liqueur I have ever tasted. Creamy, luxuriously smooth and very moreish. The taste of alcohol is not overwhelming either, which I find with Baileys and other Irish creams. Don't think I could go back to anything else after trying this; the only downside is the price."
