A US icon has thrilled fans and given hope for a future TV reunion with his former castmates.
The actor starred in the multiple Emmy-award winning show - but failed to rejoin his fellow stars on a recent reboot.

Frasier star David Hyde Pierce - aka Niles - refrained from joining the 2023 revival - but hasn't shot down the chance of another appearance.
Speaking about his latest venture in Broadway's Pirates! The Penzance Musical, he shared: "I did not think it would hinge on my participation.
"I thought it should move on from what we were doing," he told Variety.
"When Frasier happened, he didn't bring the gang from Cheers. It was successful because they made it something different.

"Creatively, I thought, I have nothing else. I don't think I'm going to be much fun or be that enthusiastic about returning."
David said about a possible return: "If there was a reason for me to appear, I'm not against it at all."
The 2023 revival introduced son Freddy, played by Jack Cutmore-Scott and introduced Only Fools star Nicholas Lyndhurst as Alan Cornwall in the sitcom.
Although the recent revival was axed by Paramount+ after two seasons, Kelsey admitted he still wanted to find a new space for the show.
Kelsey previously told the New York Post: "There's a better home for it. We'll end up somewhere where people are passionate about it.
"Ted [Danson] and I might visit actually something together.

"We've been talking about a couple ideas. Maybe on Frasier. We don't know.
"As long as it's still a relevant relationship, it will still be relevant for the show,' he added.
"[Sam] and Frasier got along pretty well, discovered some things together about life. They could still do that."
The Cheers spin-off ran between 1993 and 2004 and followed the lives of Frasier, his brother Niles and their dad Martin (John).
David Hyde Pierce played Niles alongside Kelsey Grammer, Jane Leeves, John Mahoney and Peri Gilpin for 11 seasons.
Cast members also included Peri Gilpin as Roz Doyle and Bebe Neuwirth as Lilith Sternin.
Sadly, John, who played Martin Crane, died back in 2018 aged 77.

He could have folded like a cheap suit when asked to make a lung-busting run after the filly who'd got first run and was getting 3lb, or hoisted the white flag when eye-balling her in the heat of battle. Instead, he dug deeper than the Channel Tunnel to give his burgeoning trainer Francis-Henri Graffard — a coming force on the world stage — his second King George in a row. Magnifique. Not so the Ballydoyle tactics, which even left Graffard and winning jockey Mickael Barzalona scratching their heads. Here they had the 5-2 second favourite in Jan Brueghel, a horse with abundant stamina who outstayed Calandagan at Epsom two months ago and for whom a strong, end-to-end gallop was vital. Everyone expected the 40-1 rag Continuous to set off on his usual pace-making duties to ensure it wasn't a tactical race. Puzzlingly, he was dropped in behind his stablemate and they ended up going a crawl as Jan Brueghel did the donkey work. It made little sense — not that Barzalona was complaining. He was on the horse with the best turn of foot, so he must have been licking his lips. Mind you, Andrew Balding's fine filly Kalpana showed an impressive burst of her own as she kicked for home at the two-furlong pole. Oisin Murphy moved up going strongly as Jan Brueghel struggled to go through the gears as the pace lifted before she suddenly exploded two or three lengths clear. It looked for the best part of a furlong that Calandagan would be unable to reel her in but, as all the top-class ones do, he quickened once, quickened twice and was going away by a length at the line. He was second in the Juddmonte International, Champion Stakes, Sheema Classic and Coronation Cup — but he's the Chantilly shirker no more. Graffard said: 'I never had any doubts about his will to win, when he's been beaten he has had excuses. 'He was really far back at York last year and he quickened really strongly, probably too late. He was beaten by a good horse in Dubai and at Epsom things didn't go to plan. 'I never thought it was because he didn't want to try and his jockeys have never reported that to me either. 'This is the fifth time Mickael has ridden him, he has been getting to know him and knows what to do on him now. There is no doubt anymore about the horse.' In hindsight, maybe Murphy could have held on for a few more seconds on Kalpana before committing her for home. But Balding was chuffed with the run as she continues to build towards her D-Day in the Arc. He said: 'I'm very proud of her, she's run her heart out again and just been beaten by a good horse. We'll work back from the Arc, now.' It looks like the Juddmonte International at York is next on the agenda for Calandagan, where a mouthwatering showdown with Field Of Gold awaits. Tres bien. She's so kind and so caring, I just couldn't understand the universe. 'And whoever is upstairs, if anyone's upstairs, looking down and going 'you are the most perfect person to have children, but I'm not going to let you have any children because I'm going to give you this'. "And I'm going to say 'you're going to have this endometriosis, and you're going to suffer with this all of your life, chronically, and I'm not going to let you have any children. "I thought that was peculiar, cruel, and inexplicable and unforgivable. And if ever I go up to somewhere and meet this person I would say 'I think you're not OK with decisions like this, this doesn't make any sense to me,' he lamented. The dancer went on to praise women for the things they have to go through with their bodies and health and shared his sadness about not being able to take Hannah's pain away. He continued: 'Then we went through the process of IVF, well crying out loud. You girls are extraordinary. As much as I want to get involved, all I can do is hold your hand. 'It makes me emotional every time I talk about it. The injections, the stress, the anxiety. I have anxiety and stress but it's not my body. "She has these injections and the bruises in the bum, in the thigh, in the stomach. And you're trying to help but what can you do? 'Whatever you want, tell me and I'll do it but that's all you have and it's horrendous as a man to watch it. Fuming Strictly viewers accuse 'mean' judge Anton DuBeke of being 'horrible' to celeb - did you spot it? 'You feel so inadequate and you want to do so much more but I can't do anything. And that's why you girls are so extraordinary, you're extraordinary that you do all this stuff." Anton and Hannah were fortunate enough to conceive after their first round of IVF and are now a happy family of four. This isn't the first time Anton has opened up about Hannah's endometriosis as he discussed her battle while appearing on Loose Women in 2020. He told the ladies: 'For a woman, it affects the quality of your life to a degree because it sort of comes in three parts. "First, there's the excruciating pain, second there's the swelling. It sometimes makes you look like you're pregnant, which is quite a perverse thing because people come up to you and say 'congratulations' and you're like 'actually, no'.'
