Janaki VS State of Kerala: MB Padmakumar Slams Sibi Malayil Over ‘Small Film' Remark
'Who told Sibi Malayil sir that my film is a 'small film' or an 'award film'? If there are no superstars or if it's not a big-budget film, it automatically becomes a small film, is that it? And the audience shouldn't see it, sir?" Padmakumar said in the video.
The filmmaker also criticised the CBFC for what he described as a prejudiced decision-making process. 'Isn't this exactly what the Censor Board also did? Didn't they approach it with prejudice without even watching the film? Do you know something, sir? This is a film I made by toiling for the last seven months, sacrificing my food and sleep," he said.
He further alleged that Sibi's comments had caused a distributor, who had initially agreed to release the film, to withdraw support and snatch their chance at a theatrical release. He was heard saying, 'After all was done, I finally got the film censored. I got it done, feeling defeated and scared. After that, it had to reach theatres, but it had no superstars. Without superstars, it's incredibly difficult to get a theatre screen, no distributor comes forward."
'With great difficulty and by paying from my own pocket, I had arranged for a person to distribute it. But do you know what the distributor told me after hearing your comment? He called me and said, 'You told that this was a big film. But now Sibi Malayil himself has said it's a small film. I am not investing in an award film.' Sir, you have thrown sand in my rice bowl," Padmakumar added.

Ananya Nagalla radiates desi charm
Telangana native Ananya Nagalla, who began her acting journey with YouTube videos and short films, made a promising debut in 2019 with Mallesham. While the film marked a strong start, her career since then has seen a mix of highs and lows. Her appearance in Pottel last year earned her some recognition but didn't quite deliver the breakthrough she's been hoping for. Recently, Ananya captivated her fans once again—not through the big screen, but through a stunning traditional photoshoot. Donning a vibrant red lehenga, Ananya looked radiant and graceful. The ensemble, though simple in design, featured subtle embroidery that complemented her cheerful vibe. The outfit's understated elegance allowed her natural charm to shine, and her minimal makeup highlighted her expressive features beautifully. The images have been circulating widely on social media, drawing admiration for her timeless desi look and reminding fans of her screen presence. Despite the glamour of her attire, it's Ananya's confident yet soft aura that truly steals the show. While the first half of 2025 has passed without any new film or OTT release from the actress, fans remain hopeful. With such a captivating presence both on and off screen, audiences eagerly await her return to cinema. Here's hoping Ananya Nagalla makes a strong comeback soon and lands the substantial role she deserves.

‘Aura Farming' stunt on moving Mercedes lands Navi Mumbai YouTuber in legal trouble; driver had no license
A video of a young woman dancing atop a moving Mercedes-Benz in Navi Mumbai's Kharghar area has taken social media by storm. In the now-viral clip, the woman is seen confidently performing the trending 'Aura Farming' or 'boat dance' on the bonnet of the luxury car while it cruises down the road. The dance, made famous by 11-year-old Indonesian internet star Rayyan Arkan Dikha, has become a global craze, but this particular take has landed its performers in legal trouble. The video was reportedly shot on Sunday but went viral midweek. What added fuel to the controversy was the caption: 'On my way to the 69th heartbreak with the same guy.' However, police later discovered that the man driving the car, identified as Al-fesh Shaikh, 24, didn't even have a valid driving license. His partner in crime, 24-year-old Nazmeen Sulde, who was behind the performance, is a digital content creator with over a million subscribers on YouTube. According to a Times of India report, a passerby recorded the stunt and shared it online, sparking outrage and prompting the authorities to take swift action. Although the viral clip had a blurred number plate, traffic officials used CCTV footage to identify and trace the vehicle back to its owner in Kharghar. Both Sulde and Shaikh were detained and booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act (1988).
