Wisconsin barbershop quartets perform free concert at Two Rivers Central Park July 19

MANITOWOC – Several barbershop quartets will perform a free concert in Two Rivers' Central Park from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 19.
The event, called Harmony Lives on the Schmitt Brothers Stage, is the first of what organizers hope will become an annual event, according to a news release.
Wisconsin barbershop quartets such as Barber Pops, Quandary, Juke Box, Late Expectations and the District Champion Coulee Classic, as well as the local Clipper City Chordsmen will perform on the stage dedicated to the Schmitt Brothers quartet.
As part of the event, the Washington House Museum will serve a commemorative Schmitt Brothers sundae from noon to 6 p.m. July 19. Cool City Brewing Company will also have a Schmitt Brothers Barbershop Brew on tap July 19-20 and will make a financial donation based on the number of pints sold.
According to the news release, the event is funded through an Explore Two Rivers Opportunity Grant and sponsored by the Cool City Brewing Company and Shelley Vogel at Weichert Realty.

The Schmitt Brothers quartet, consisting of Jim, Joe, Paul and Fran Schmitt, hailed from Two Rivers and won the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America title 74 years ago after only singing together for 18 months. They went on to sing together for 35 years, performing on all the major stages in the country as well as the Ed Sullivan, Arthur Godfrey and Lawrence Welk shows.
During their singing career, the four members collectively raised 35 children, ran successful businesses in Manitowoc County and participated in civic organizations like the Elks and Lions clubs, the local chamber of commerce, and school and church boards.

You are seeing the reflection of popcorn ceiling on the screen. the llama on the right just ringing its bell? What looks like the llama's hand is actually another llama behind it. are seeing rooftop parking here. Do you? What may look like a drop-off for rooftop parking is actually not! You're looking at a parking lot with digital screens. What looks like the drop-off is the back of a screen like the one on the left. brain will decipher this photo one of two ways: one that is correct and one that isn't. What do you see? If you see four forks on a purple towel, you are correct! thing goes for this photo! What do you see? If you spotted feet on a rug, you are right! If you look closely you can see the poles behind the fence. this cat really square? No, the cat is sitting with its back up, and it just so happens to create a perfect square. about this one? You are seeing the shadow of the fence. lastly, has this person been stabbed with arrows? Thankfully, no. The arrows are in a dart board that is being hidden by the person's body. A man fell to his death during an Oasis concert at London's Wembley Stadium

LONDON (AP) — Oasis said Sunday that its members are 'shocked and saddened' after a man fell to his death during a concert by the band at London's Wembley Stadium. The Metropolitan Police force said officers and paramedics responded to reports of an injured person just before 10:30 (2130GMT) on Saturday night It said a man in his 40s was found 'with injuries consistent with a fall.' He was pronounced dead at the scene. The force urged anyone who saw what happened or caught it on phone video to contact police. 'We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night,' Oasis said in a statement, offering 'sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.' The Britpop icons' first tour in 16 year s kicked off July 4 in Cardiff, Wales. Saturday's concert was the fourth of seven planned shows at Wembley. Stadium management said Sunday's gig would go ahead as planned.
