'I partied with my boyfriend at the Big Weekend - the next day he took his life'

Dad Richard Scriven was planning to propose to girlfriend Lisa Carol Pratt but tragically ended his own life hours after he had watched his favourite artist Tom Grennan on stage A woman has spoken of her heartbreak after finding her boyfriend dead just hours after they were having fun at Radio 1's Big Weekend. Lisa Carol Pratt, 33, had travelled to Sefton Park in Liverpool with dad-of-one Richard Scriven for the popular event on May 24 and the pair enjoyed the music festival as they prepared to mark their four year anniversary. Richard, 36, was desperate to see his favourite artist Tom Grennan on stage as the couple made the most of the day. But the next morning she called round and found him dead at his home after he had decided to take his own life. She said: "We went to the Big Weekend in Liverpool. Richard really wanted to see Tom Grennan. We had a really good day. He was a little bit up and down but we left on a positive note and I dropped him at home." Tragically and traumatically Lisa travelled to Richard's home and made the devastating discovery. She told the LiverpoolEcho: "I knew he was gone. I haven't got any answers, it is very hard. When you spend so much time with someone, I don't know how I didn't pick up on anything. I keep blaming myself." Lisa is now trying to keep Richard's memory alive and has sent a special bottle with a message and a picture of them together into the sea at Blackpool, one of the couple's favourite places, where they had their first date. she added: "We met in 2021 because we were both working for a care company at the time. "Richard was agency staff and to be honest I was dreading the shift because I thought I would be showing someone how to do everything, but it was a really good shift. At first I was trying to help him because he was struggling with his mental health and I am a mental health first aider - but then he asked me out on a date, we went to Blackpool - and I think we just realised we were a perfect match." Lisa said Richard, who had a four-year-old son from a previous relationship, had always struggled with his mental health and had leaned on her for support. On the day of the Radio One festival in Liverpool, she said they had enjoyed their time together. To add to her heartbreak, Lisa found out after Richard's death that he was planning to propose to her later this year. She said: "I found out that he had actually been planning to marry me since our first Christmas together. "We were planning to go to New York later this year and that is where he was going to propose. I am now carrying his ashes in a necklace and also in a ring that I have which is very similar to the engagement ring he was going to propose with - because I definitely would have said yes." On Friday, which would have been the couple's fourth anniversary, Lisa travelled to Blackpool with her parents, where she let off a balloon and sent the bottle with the message and the picture out to sea. She has since set up a Facebook group called Lisa and Richard's journey message in a bottle, which she is hoping people will join and post any updates about the bottle's journey if they come across it. The group can be found here. She explained: " I am trying to keep Richard's memory alive as much as possible. We always said we would go travelling together and this is the only way we can do it now. I have made a group on Facebook that will hopefully help me follow our journey in the bottle. I have asked anyone who comes across it to post in there so that we can follow where we have been together." She donned a platinum blonde wig, with her long locks flowing over her shoulders, as she posed for a video taken in the reflection of a mirror. The Michigan-born songstress donned a full face of make-up and gold hoop earrings, and was seen flicking her locks over her shoulders as an assistant massaged moisturiser onto her thighs. She writhed around showing off her moves before posing for a series of front and rear selfies. Advertisement In her caption she announced her upcoming show and put: "Pull up to @blackmarketflea tomorrow!!! "I'm performing some songs off MY FACE HURTS FROM SMILING AND WE'RE LIVE STREAMING ON @twitch." Fans were quick to appreciate her latest post and one wrote: "A QUEEN. A second put: "Sooooo I hope you know you really just dropped the music of the summer." MASSIVE BODY TRANSFORMATION The singing sensation, whose real name is Mellissa Viviane Jefferson, has recently undergone a significant body transformation. Lizzo shows off her incredible 60lb weight loss underwear pics as she strips down to thong underwear Seemingly proud of her weight loss, Lizzo is continuing to showcase her figure after she revealed a massive milestone earlier this year. At the start of 2025, the Grammy Award-winner revealed that she had lost around 16 per cent of her body fat from dieting and intense workouts. Advertisement Lizzo previously revealed that she had also reduced her body mass by 10.5. In January, she said on social media: "Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. "I haven't seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!" Meanwhile, a source exclusively told Life & Style in September, 2024 that the the singer had dropped more than 60 pounds since her weight loss journey began. Advertisement Lizzo - who recently also stripped to a black bikini - then told how it was "time for new goals" after succeeding in her slimming mission. Yet fans then urged the chart star to not "get too skinny." It came after she donned a red bikini in another sizzling social media snap. REAL DEAL Last year, she told The New York Times: "I've been methodical, losing weight very slowly." Advertisement She added to the publication: "I don't really see it because if anyone who's on a natural weight-loss journey knows, losing weight is actually the slowest thing in the world and you don't really notice it until you notice it. "Also the scale's not really moving. "But anyway, that doesn't matter. I'm super proud of my current lifestyle." Yet earlier this month, she confessed to having used fat loss jabs - despite previously denying opting for the drug. Advertisement In a chat onTrisha Paytas' Just Trish podcast, she said she had "tried everything" in her slimming mission. She admitted she tried the medication in 2023 but decided against continuing it. Yet Lizzo said counting calories then proved to be the bets approach for her. She told the podcast: "It's just the science for me, calories in versus calories out. Advertisement "Ozempic works because you eat less food. That's it. "It makes you feel full, so if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it's the same s–t." It came after she doubled down on not using the drug on her Instagram page - leaving fans confused. Last year, she uploaded a caption which read: "When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit."
