Barrie Thunder Classics begin summer season
Families were able to spend fathers' day doing what Dad loves including checking out classic cars.

'It's our first year partnering with Bradford Greenhouses, to do a Father's Day event, with all the kids and stuff, with the bouncy castles,' said Brandon Valley, president of Barrie Thunder Classics.
Hundreds of people gathered in the parking lot showing off classic cars from the 1930's to modern super cars. Something for the entire family to enjoy.
The Rankin family spent the morning viewing the vehicles and said its nice to spend time together.
'It's great opportunity to see personally what we might buy one day,' said the father. 'They're beautiful. Makes me realize, my garage is dirty, and I want to put a car in it.'

His two boys adding they are thankful to spend the time with him.
'We all work, so it's hard to spend a lot of time with him, it's great to actually get a day off, to spend a lot of time with him and appreciate the stuff we get to look at and enjoy it.'
Brian Jones owned a classic truck and said he enjoys getting out and showing off his prized possession.
'When I retired, I needed a project, so it took me three winters working on it everyday building it,' said Jones. 'And I had it on the road since I think it was 2010.'

He added its great seeing the younger generation get involved with the classic vehicles.
'You see the young kids come up and they look at it and some of them turn around and say Dad, how come we haven't got fun like that?' said Jones. 'It's great to see the kids because they are the next generation, they're the ones that if that are going to be doing cars when we're long gone.'

Garage fire in Saskatoon under investigation
Saskatoon fire crews responded to a garage fire early Saturday morning. The blaze was reported shortly after 4 a.m., in the 1400 block of East Heights, Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) said in a release. Arriving crews observed a large amount of flames coming from the detached garage before being extinguished. According to SFD, there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. A thorough search confirmed all occupants had safely evacuated the area. As of 6:30 a.m., a fire investigator was on the scene, conducting an examination to determine the cause, origin, and extent of the damage. Serious crash closes Highway 560

(File photo/CTV News) A 'serious' collision has closed Highway 560 in Gowganda, Ont. in both directions on Saturday. The crash, announced by Ontario Provincial Police just before 11:30 a.m., has closed the roadway at Fourth Avenue. 'Please avoid the area and expect lengthy closures,' police said on social media. OPP said members of the Temiskaming detachment are on scene. The Ministry of Transportation's Ontario 511 Travellers Information service confirmed the crash and resulting road closure shortly after police. Police have not released any details on the cause of the crash, the number of vehicles involved or if there are any injuries. Crash between semi, SUV backs up traffic on Trans-Canada Highway near Manitoba-Ontario border
Social Sharing Two people were sent to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash near the Ontario-Manitoba border, causing traffic delays for hours on part of the Trans-Canada Highway. Ontario Provincial Police said the collision happened after 8 a.m. Saturday at Rocky Ridge Road near Clearwater Bay, a rural community about 170 kilometres east of Winnipeg. A semi-truck and SUV crashed, police said on a social media post. Two people were taken to hospital and no information has been released about their conditions. OPP initially closed a section of the Trans-Canada Highway, but the eastbound lane was reopened at around 11:40 a.m. A spokesperson for OPP said it is unclear when the highway will fully reopen.
