Jessie J Shares the ‘Honest Lows and Highs' After Undergoing Breast Cancer Surgery
In one slide of Jessie J's recent 16-part photo dump on Instagram, the singer watched back a clip from her performance at Capital's Summertime Ball. On stage at Wembley Stadium in London, she told the audience, 'This show is my last show before I go and beat breast cancer.' Revisiting the moment from her hospital bed, she joked, 'Look a bit different, innit?' Jessie is recovering at home from surgery now, but wanted to share a glimpse into her battle with the diagnosis she revealed earlier this month.
'This post is some of the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours,' she wrote in the post caption. 'I will always show the good and hard bits of any journey I go through. Grateful to my doctor / surgeon and all the nurses who cared for me and all my family / friends who came to visit. I am home now, to rest and wait for my results. Chanan is in a nurse outfit. No no, he isn't, but funny to imagine. Still hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this!'

The carousel of images and videos Jessie shared captured sweet moments with her son and her partner Chanan Safir Colman, as well as more emotional instances. In one, she cries at the thought of imagining hearing her son say he loves her and not being able to say it back. In another, she explains the tubing system that drains blood and fluid from her breasts to him.
The post-surgery recovery period will allow Jessie to truly slow down and process the moment. When she revealed her diagnosis, she mentioned that she was 'not processing it because I'm working so hard.' In a separate post shared earlier this month, she looked back on a live performance before which she had undergone several breast biopsies in private. 'I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories,' she said. 'I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse, that's the bit that kills me.'

Glastonbury ‘Appalled' by Band's Chant Against Israel's Military
The organizers of Glastonbury music festival said on Sunday that they were 'appalled' by statements made onstage during a performance by the British punk duo Bob Vylan, in which the lead singer led the crowd in chants of 'Death, death to the I.D.F.,' referring to the Israeli Defense Forces. Glastonbury, Britain's biggest music festival, had already been facing criticism for its decision to allow Kneecap, an Irish-language rap group, to perform on Saturday, despite pressure from broadcasters and politicians to cut the act after the band voiced anti-Israel statements and one member faced a terrorism charge. Kneecap's performance was such a draw at the festival that the arena was already full for Bob Vylan's set an hour beforehand. The chants by Bob Vylan's singer, which were broadcast live on the BBC, drew immediate condemnation from politicians in the United Kingdom. Israel's embassy in the United Kingdom, as well as some Jewish groups, accused Glastonbury of promoting hate. Avon and Somerset police said on Saturday that they were reviewing video footage from the stage to determine if any criminal offenses had been committed. 'With almost 4,000 performances at Glastonbury 2025, there will inevitably be artists and speakers appearing on our stages whose views we do not share, and a performer's presence here should never be seen as a tacit endorsement of their opinions and beliefs,' said a statement on the Instagram accounts of the Glastonbury Festival and Emily Eavis, one of the festival's organizers, on Sunday. 'However, we are appalled by the statements made from the West Holts stage by Bob Vylan yesterday.' Want all of The Times? Subscribe.

Fans were blown away by Carl Barat and Pete Doherty's band the Libertines as they performed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury on Sunday afternoon. One called them the greatest British band for the last 20 years while another said they were criminally underrated and a third said they had a catalogue of absolute bangers.
