Jason Bateman and Jude Law's ‘Black Rabbit' Series Sets Its Opening Night on Netflix
The anticipated Netflix limited series starring Jason Bateman and Jude Law as reunited brothers that centers on the city's next hotspot restaurant and lounge (called Black Rabbit) now has a release date. The eight-episode series, also titled Black Rabbit, launches Sept. 18 on Netflix.

Netflix released the first photos (one above, three below) along with the date announcement, previewing Bateman's new, gritty look for the thriller drama. Bateman and Law executive produce the series, with Bateman also directing.
Bateman directed the first two episodes, with his Ozark co-star Laura Linney directing the next two, followed by Ben Semanoff and Justin Kurzel each directing the next consecutive two episodes.
Cleopatra Coleman, Amaka Okafor, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, Troy Kotsur, Abbey Lee, Chris Coy, Dagmara Dominczyk, Odessa Young and Robin De Jesus round out the cast, with Amir Malaklou, Don Harvey, Forrest Weber, Francis Benhamou, Gus Birney, John Ales and Steve Witting.
Here's the logline: 'Set against the backdrop of New York City's high-pressure nightlife scene, Black Rabbit centers on two brothers who are pushed to the brink by their duty to family and their pursuit of success. Jake Friedken (Law) is the charismatic owner of Black Rabbit, a restaurant and VIP lounge, poised to become the hottest spot in New York. But when his brother, Vince (Bateman), returns to the business unexpectedly, trouble soon follows; opening the door to old traumas and new dangers that threaten to bring down everything they've built. Black Rabbit is a propulsive thrill ride and character examination about the way an unbreakable bond between two brothers can shatter their world and everything in its orbit.'
Black Rabbit is created and executive produced by Zach Baylin and Kate Susman for Youngblood Pictures. Executive producers include Bateman, Michael Costigan and Roxie Rodriguez for Aggregate Films; Law and Ben Jackson for Riff Raff Entertainment; Brian Kavanaugh-Jones from Automatik; Andrew Hinderaker, Zac Frognowski, Justin Levy, David Bernon and Erica Kay.

Hulk Hogan to be cremated, memorial service plans revealed
Memorial plans have been set for Hulk Hogan a week after the legendary wrestler died at age 71. Hogan will be laid to rest in a memorial service on Aug. 5, set to take place at a church in Tampa, Florida, a source told Us Weekly. Documents obtained by the outlet on Thursday also revealed that Hogan's body will be cremated. The Pinellas County Forensic Science Center in Largo, Florida, approved the cremation on Wednesday. Hogan's death was confirmed on Thursday to be the result of an acute myocardial infarction, more commonly known as a heart attack. His manner of death was listed as natural. Although few other details were provided, official records cited by Us Weekly said the wrestling star also had a history of leukemia CLL, a type of cancer that usually impacts older adults and affects white blood cells called lymphocytes. It's unclear when Hogan was diagnosed with CLL or if he was battling the cancer in the days before his death. At the time of his passing, the World Wrestling Federation Hall of Famer was reportedly in the midst of filming a Netflix documentary about his life and career. Sources associated with the doc told CNN the previously unannounced project has been in the works since 2024. Producers reportedly culled more than 20 hours of unseen sit-down interviews with Hogan, in addition to 30 hours of scenes already shot. According to an insider, viewers are promised to 'see a side of (Hogan) they haven't seen before.' The plan is still to complete the film as production remains ongoing, though certain portions will have to be reworked, sources said. A release date has not yet been set.

Amazon MGM Studio's James Bond film names ‘Peaky Blinders' writer
The upcoming James Bond movie now has a writer attached to the project. Steven Knight, who has penned projects like Eastern Promises, Apple TV+'s See, Locke and Netflix's wildly popular Peaky Blinders series, was announced as the script writer on Thursday afternoon. He will join director Denis Villeneuve on the highly-anticipated project. David Heyman and Amy Pascal have signed on to produce the project, the first Bond movie in its new home at Amazon MGM Studios. Amazon acquired MGM in 20212, taking control of the extensive collection of 007 movies. It wasn't until February of 2025, however, that the studio was able to negotiate a deal for the rights to the creative control of the character. There has not been a new James Bond announced yet, but the search is apparently on. That hasn't stopped fans from coming up with their own theories on who could take over the mantle from Daniel Craig. Names like Idris Elba, Damson Idris, Callum Turner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, Tom Holland, Jacob Elordi and Harris Dickinson have all been in the online conversation. Craig became Bond in 2006's Casino Royale and went on to star in five total movies as 007. His final outing as the dapper spy was in 2021 with No Time To Die.
