Lachie Neale ‘clips' young teammate Will Ashcroft with ‘extraordinary comments'
Agenda Setters host Caroline Wilson says Brisbane captain Lachie Neale's assessment of the professionalism of his young teammate Will Ashcroft were 'extraordinary'.
In just his third AFL season, Ashcroft has already announced himself as one of the premier midfielders of the competition, having won a Norm Smith Medal in just his 31st game last year.

He is widely regarded as one of the most professional young players in the AFL, and a lot of his early success has been attributed to that by his coaches and those around him.
But Neale appeared to see it slightly differently, saying Ashcroft still had some way to go.
On Tuesday night, Wilson said: 'Could we have a quick listen to the Brownlow medallist, Lachie Neale, and some extraordinary comments — well, it pricked up my ears anyway.'
Asked on SEN if Ashcroft was the most professional player he'd ever seen, Neale fell short of giving praise that high.
'I've seen some pretty professional blokes, and he's still working on his body and what he needs to do to get to that top echelon,' Neale said.
'But he's still learning though and he's got a little way to go to be the most professional, but I think the way he handles himself is first-class.'
It was an answer that cause Wilson by surprise.
'I thought that was a bit of a clip and really fascinating,' she said.
'He's got a lot of work to do, clearly.'
Neale and Ashcroft were the Lions' two best players in their premiership victory against Sydney last year.
They have formed one of the competition's best midfield duos, and complete a superstar quartet with Hugh McCluggage and Josh Dunkley, who comprehensively beat Hawthorn at the weekend.
Brisbane (8-1-2) had a short break before hosting Essendon at the Gabba on Thursday night.
The Hawks (7-4) face another huge test on Friday night when they face premiership favourites Collingwood at the MCG.
Lions forward Charlie Cameron was instrumental in their win over the Hawks, overcoming his early-season form slump break the game open with three goals in three minutes late in the second quarter.
'When you're sort of going through a little stumble —missing goals and opportunities — just to finish your work, it's pretty satisfying,' Cameron said.
'I know how much those little things add up throughout the year ... we've got a big game coming up against Essendon so I can take a lot of confidence from this.'

Angela Jones suspended after Eagle Farm treble which hurts her premiership hopes
Angela Jones' Eagle Farm treble saw her snatch the lead in the Brisbane jockeys' premiership, but her title hopes were dented by a suspension from the Group 1 Tatt's Tiara. Jones' tremendous trio of winners gave her a one-win lead over good friend and fellow jockey Emily Lang. But there was a sting in the tail late in the day with stewards grilling Jones over her ride on fifth-placed favourite Floozie in the Group 1. • PUNT LIKE A PRO: Become a Racenet iQ member and get expert tips – with fully transparent return on investment statistics – from Racenet's team of professional punters at our Pro Tips section. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Stewards also had winning jockey Tom Sherry in the room, in an inquiry into Jones shifting out on Floozie and Sherry shifting in on winner Tashi, going past the 200m mark. Runner-up Abounding and roughie Bubba's Bay were the meat in the sandwich in the incident. Jones pleaded not guilty, insisting to stewards that the shift from Sherry on Tashi had 'more than half'' the bearing on the interference. 'I don't think it's worthy of a charge,' Jones said. Stewards disagreed, charging Jones with careless riding and suspending her for 10 days to start after next Saturday's Winx Guineas meeting on the Sunshine Coast. Chief steward Josh Adams said the shift from Sherry had been taken into consideration when imposing Jones' penalty. The riding ban is the last thing Jones needed on the day she hit the lead in the Brisbane premiership race and she seems almost certain to appeal to the Queensland Racing Appeals Panel. Immediately after imposing Jones' suspension, stewards had Sherry back in the room. They found he was only 20 per cent culpable for the incident and issued the former Irishman with a severe reprimand. It somewhat soured a great day for Jones, who also surged past 100 winners for the Australian racing season.

Eagles debutant praised after seizing big moment on debut
West Coast debutant Jobe Shanahan has kicked his first AFL goal and shown fantastic signs of what he could become as the Eagles are putting enormous pressure on ladder leaders Collingwood at Marvel Stadium. Shanahan played as both a forward and defender during his junior career and has also played at both ends in the WAFL. But he's playing as a forward in his AFL debut and has showcased plenty of skill. He flew for several early marks without being able to haul in the ball, but once he got a taste of the game, Shanahan looked comfortable at the highest level. The Victorian took a brilliant leading mark during the second term and nailed his set shot from about 50m out to put West Coast in front. Former Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley was full of praise for what he was witnessing. 'I'm smiling. How composed was he?' he said on Fox Footy. Jobe Shanahan. Darcy Moore is no slouch in terms of intercepts and that's the second mark he's been able to take out basically at full tilt out in front of him. 'He's only 18 but he's a likely type. He's got really strong legs. He's going to grow and fill out really well. To be able to finish with that composure is excellent.' West Coast selected Shanahan at pick 30 in last season's national draft. They have had plenty of challenges to fill their key position stocks this season following the departure of Tom Barrass to Hawthorn and Jeremy McGovern being forced to retire due to concussion. But Shanahan has given them plenty of confidence that they have a youngster who is powerful in the air.
