Sean Pedulla sinks 3-pointer with 1.3 seconds left as Ole Miss edges Arkansas 83-80 in SEC tourney
Arkansas forward Trevon Brazile was at the free-throw line with 7.4 seconds left after he was fouled going for an offensive rebound. He missed both free throws and Dre Davis grabbed the defensive rebound. Davis passed it ahead to Pedulla, who dribbled up the court for a shot well behind the arc for a go-ahead 3-pointer. Billy Richmond III had a decent look from midcourt at the buzzer that bounced hard off the backboard and rim.
It was Pedulla's only made 3-pointer in seven tries.
Arkansas finished 21 of 32 at the free-throw line.
Ole Miss (22-10) advances to play top-seeded Auburn in the quarterfinals on Friday.
Malik Dia led Ole Miss with 19 points and eight rebounds and Jaylen Murray added 17. Pedulla was 4 of 12 from the field for 10 points.
Jonas Aidoo had 17 points and eight rebounds for Arkansas (20-13) before picking up his fifth foul with 4:44 remaining. Brazile had 15 points and 11 rebounds, Richmond also scored 15 and Karter Knox 14.
Arkansas trailed 42-27 with 1:25 left in the first half before taking over during a 34-11 run for a 61-53 lead with 9:35 remaining in the second.
Knox and Richmond combined to make six straight free throws to put Arkansas ahead 78-77 with 1:23 left. Pedulla had an open look from 3-point range that didn't drop but he got another chance after Dia grabbed an offensive rebound. Then Pedulla had it stolen by Arkansas guard Johnell Davis, who called a timeout with 50.5 left.
D.J. Wagner sank a shot on the left side of the lane while fading away to put Arkansas ahead 80-77 with 29.6 left and Dre Davis tied it at 20.7 with a three-point play.

Before the : Sanders (6-5, 233 pounds) played in the SEC for the entirety of his college career. Sanders played two years at Alabama from 2020-21, and he knows what it means to come out on top; Sanders won a national championship with the Crimson Tide in 2020. In two years at Alabama, Sanders played in 23 games, recording 33 total tackles (16 solo, 17 assisted, three tackles for loss), three pass deflections and 1.0 sacks. Sanders transferred to Arkansas prior to 2022, and he immediately exploded in production. In 12 games with the Razorbacks, Sanders made 103 total tackles (40 solo, 63 assisted, 14 tackles for loss), 9.5 sacks, five pass deflections, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception. Sanders' breakout season in 2022 caught the eye of the Denver Broncos, who selected Sanders in the third round (67th overall) of the 2023 NFL draft. Broncos tenure: Sanders dressed for all 17 games in 2023, making four starts, totaling 24 total tackles (13 solo, 11 assisted, one tackle for loss) and one fumble recovery. After missing the beginning of the 2024 season while recovering from an Achilles injury, Sanders returned late in the year and appeared in four games (plus the Broncos' lone playoff game). In limited action, Sanders recorded eight tackles (four solo, four assisted, one tackle for loss) and 1.0 sacks in 2024. Chances to make the 53-man roster: Near certain. Earlier this year, coach Sean Payton specifically referenced Sanders as an "inside linebacker," giving him some position clarity after bouncing between roles over the last two years. The Broncos brought in Dre Greenlaw this spring, but Sanders will still get an opportunity to compete for significant playing time as Alex Singleton is coming off a torn ACL and will turn 32 this season. LSU football adds four-star defensive tackle to class, beating out Ohio State and Oregon
LSU football added yet another talented defensive tackle to its 2026 recruiting class on Saturday, picking up a commitment from four-star defensive tackle Deuce Geralds. Geralds becomes the 18th commitment for LSU this cycle and the second defensive tackle to commit in as many days. On Friday, LSU added Daryus McKinley, the little brother of LSU defensive tackle Dominick McKinley. Geralds is a Georgia prospect, attending Collins Hill High School, but his connections to LSU run deep. He was born in Baton Rouge and Frank Wilson, LSU's running backs coach, coached Geralds' father at Ole Miss. That made LSU a contender for Geralds from the start. Several of the CFB's top programs were in the race. Ohio State and Oregon were both in the mix, but LSU's late push was enough to seal the deal. Per the Rivals' Industry Rankings, Geralds is the No. 8-ranked defensive tackle in the class. Geralds is the fourth defensive tackle to commit to LSU in 2026. Five-star Lamar Brown and four-star Richard Anderson headline the group, now joined by Geralds and McKinley. It's shaping up to be the best defensive line class in the country.

Tony Vitello discusses Chase Burns' pitching career ahead of MLB Speedway Classic
Cincinnati (58-53) and Atlanta (46-63) will conclude a three-game series Saturday. Saturday's series finale will be contested at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. First pitch between the Braves and Reds is slated for 7:15 p.m. EDT and the National League contest will be televised by Fox. Former Tennessee pitcher Chase Burns (0-3) is projected to start for Cincinnati in the MLB Speedway Classic. He played for the Vols from 2022-23 before transferring to Wake Forest in 2024. Tennessee won the 2022 SEC Tournament and regular-season championship, and advanced to the 2023 College World Series. Burns was selected No. 2 overall in the first round of the 2024 MLB draft by the Reds. Ahead of Saturday's matchup at Bristol Motor Speedway, Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello appeared on MLB Network in Bristol and discussed his former pitcher. Vitello was asked what he thought of Burns when he saw him for the first time and what he thinks about him now in MLB. "It was actually just playing catch, and I saw his dad is extremely physical, so at the time he was a real lean skinny kid, but you had a hunch he was going to get more physical," Vitello said. "Just playing catch, an incredibly elastic arm with a lot of range of motion. You envision velocity, but it came in triple digits. It was also a deal where the right-handed slider against right-handed hitters was incredibly dominant. "We've talked off the side, I think there are a lot of people who like to pick at him because he's burst on the scene so quickly. The bottom line is, he's always been good, and he's good right now. It should make for a good matchup tomorrow."
