Aubrey O'Day blasts ‘selfish' Diddy for having children in court during graphic testimonies

Yahoo18-05-2025
Danity Kane singer Aubrey O'Day called Sean 'Diddy' Combs 'selfish' for having six of his seven children appear in court during his ongoing trial in New York.
The rap mogul is facing federal charges related to sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and denies any wrongdoing.
'The fact that the kids are marching up to that court, praying over everything and walking in with a bunch of women also that are encouraging it,' O'Day said on Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes's podcast Friday.
The 'Damaged' singer, whose girl band was signed to Diddy's Bad Boy Records, continued: 'I don't know any father that would want their children to sit through testimony about how much their daddy liked to watch people [get] lubricated, f*****g, getting p****d on and urinated in their mouths, having his girlfriend come in the other room and rub their come all over his nipples.'
'Would you want your children to know about it?' she asked Holmes and Robach. 'It's concerning to me, that the optics of them being there and supporting [their] father are obviously a very strong play for the defense.'
However, not all of Diddy's children stayed throughout the proceedings. Chance, 18, and the twins Jesse and D'Lila, also 18, left the courtroom twice on May 12, while male escort Daniel Phillip shared graphic details about an alleged paid sexual encounter between himself and Ventura, which he said Combs watched while masturbating, multiple outlets reported.
'It's telling to me. It means that daddy's being selfish and he needs — in my opinion — it feels like, 'Daddy needs you in court because daddy needs all the optics to look in his favor,' and I don't really care what you have to sit through,' said O'Day.
Her comments come after she revealed she would not be taking the stand against her former mentor, despite being contacted by Homeland Security.
O'Day rose to fame in 2005 with the MTV reality show Making the Band 3, which saw Diddy form Danity Kane.
However, the record producer fired O'Day and Wanita 'D. Woods' Woodgett from the group in 2008, as captured on the show.
O'Day would have been the second member of Danity Kane to testify against him. Prosecutors revealed Thursday that Dawn Richard, 41, will be their next witness following Cassie Ventura's bombshell testimony.
The California-native has long been vocal about her experiences with Diddy, accusing him of attempting to silence her through nondisclosure agreements and has spoken about alleged mistreatment during her time in Danity Kane.
In a 2022 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, O'Day claimed she was fired from Danity Kane for not doing 'what was expected' of her — 'not talent-wise but in other areas.'
She celebrated Diddy's September 2024 arrest on X, writing: "The purpose of Justice is to provide an ending and allow us the space to create a new chapter.'
"Women never get this. I feel validated. Today is a win for women all over the world, not just me. Things are finally changing,' she added.
Diddy's trial resumes Monday.

Disney earnings: 2 things that could change this analyst's rating

Disney (DIS) is set to report earnings on Wednesday before markets open. TD Cowen managing director for media and entertainment Doug Creutz outlines what he'll be looking for in the results, including the two things that Disney could announce that could change his Hold rating on the stock. To watch more expert insights and analysis on the latest market action, check out more Market Catalysts. Zooming in on the upcoming earnings this week, Doug. What is your biggest question gonna be for the company sort of going in, uh, and awaiting those numbers? Yeah, I think the question three months ago would have been, you know, how the park's doing. Uh, particularly with Comcast Epic Park opening. You know, there was some concern with that cut into Disney's attendance. I think Epic has done well, but it hasn't done so wildly well that you you would be really concerned that Disney was seeing, you know, a major impact, not that there won't be an impact, but I think everyone assumed there'd be some impact. Um, and I also, three months ago, people were more concerned about macro, and that that seems to have receded at least a bit. I think the the more important question is, you know, they had a summer with four big movies. One of them, Lilo and Stitch, the the remake, did very well. Um, they had an animated movie, Elio, which did incredibly poorly, and will almost certainly be a meaningful write-down. Uh, it's another original IP film that they have made that hasn't done well, uh, on the animated side. And it's not just them, it's the entire industry. Original IP animated films are struggling. They also had, I think maybe most concerningly, two well-reviewed Marvel films. Um, one, uh, uh, Fantastic Four, which had a good opening weekend, but really had a major falloff in the second weekend. Um, and and I think in general, there's gotta be some concern about the trajectory of the overall Marvel franchise, and and whether it's lost a lot of the interest that it used to have and was a key driver for them. Yeah, I think we were a big Marvel household, and now we've got a little Marvel fatigue, I have to admit. Um, and and when you look at that that parks question, how do you think they will be doing given, to your point, the competition from the newly opened park in Florida? Yeah, look, the parks business has been functioning very well. They had a little bit of a soft patch last summer, but it seems to have recovered. Uh, you know, again, I think Orlando will probably be a touch slower this quarter because of the Epic opening, but not so much that it's gonna have anybody concerned. You know, they've got, um, multiple cruise ships are gonna be coming to market over the next few years. That's an opportunity for them there to have additional growth. Uh, I I think the parks business is good, right? It's gonna continue to be good, sort of barring any major recession. I I think everybody knows that, right? It's sort of, I don't know as an investor if you get paid for the parks business being good just because that's kind of baked into the stock. Uh, and speaking about being baked into the stock, you've got a hold rating on it, $123 price target. What has to change for you to get more bullish on Disney? Well, I think one thing is we kind of need to know who's gonna replace Bob Iger. Yeah, small, small thing, right, Doug? Yeah, yeah, that remains a very open question. You know, will it be somebody internally? Will it be somebody from outside the company? Uh, we don't know. And he's, you know, he's supposed to be handing over the reins next year. Um, he's has he has been supposed to hand over the reins many times in the past, and, uh, you know, he's still CEO after after some time off. So, we'll see. I think that's a really big, important thing, and sort of whoever does replace him, what's their vision for Disney over the next 10 years? It won't necessarily be the same as Bob Iger's. Um, and then I think, you know, it's it's the media business, right? It's how how much can they grow Disney Plus profitability? I think that they can get it higher, but can they get it higher fast enough to offset the diminishing profits of linear? I think that's also, uh, another very open question that they have not been able to answer in any in any concrete way.

Sean ‘Diddy' Combs is denied release on bond to await sentencing

NEW YORK — Sean 'Diddy' Combs can't go home from jail to await sentencing on his prostitution-related conviction, a judge said Monday, denying the rap and style mogul's latest bid for bail. Combs has been behind bars since his September arrest. He faced federal charges of coercing girlfriends into having drug-fueled sex marathons with male sex workers while he watched and filmed them. He was acquitted last month of the top charges — racketeering and sex trafficking — while being convicted of two counts of a prostitution-related offense. The conviction carries the potential for up to 10 years in prison. But there are complicated federal guidelines for calculating sentences in any given case, and prosecutors and Combs' lawyers disagree substantially on how the guidelines come out for his case. In any event, the guidelines aren't mandatory, and Judge Arun Subramanian will have wide latitude in deciding Combs' punishment. The Bad Boy Records founder, now 55, was for decades a protean figure in pop culture. A Grammy-winning hip hop artist and entrepreneur with a flair for finding and launching big talents, he presided over a business empire that ranged from fashion to reality TV. Prosecutors claimed he used his fame, wealth and violence to force and manipulate two now-ex-girlfriends into days-long, drugged-up sexual performances he called 'freak-offs' or 'hotel nights.' His lawyers argued that the government tried to criminalize consensual, if unconventional, sexual tastes that played out in complicated relationships. The defense acknowledged that Combs had violent outbursts but said nothing he did came amounted to the crimes with which he was charged. Since the verdict, his lawyers have repeatedly renewed their efforts to get him out on bail until his sentencing, set for October. They have argued that the acquittals undercut the rationale for holding him, and they have pointed to other people who were released before sentencing on similar convictions. Defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo suggested in a court filing that Combs was the United States' 'only person in jail for hiring adult male escorts for him and his girlfriend.' The defense's most recent proposal included a $50 million bond and travel restrictions and expressed openness to adding on house arrest at his Miami home, electronic monitoring, private security guards and other requirements. Prosecutors opposed releasing Combs. They wrote that his 'extensive history of violence — and his continued attempt to minimize his recent violent conduct — demonstrates his dangerousness and that he is not amendable to supervision.'
