Jennifer Garner's Father's Day Tribute to Ben Affleck Is a Quiet Moment of Co-Parenting Love

Jennifer Garner gave her Instagram Story fans a temperature read on where she stands with ex-husband Ben Affleck and the post might have come as a surprise to some. In honor of Father's Day, the 13 Going on 30 star dug through her photo archives for a sweet snapshot of Affleck with one of their three children as an infant. The little one was sleeping on their dad's chest as he cradled them in his arms while lying on the couch. More from SheKnows Megan Fox & Machine Gun Kelly Reveal Their Newborn Daughter's Name - & It's Both Poetic & Edgy 'Happy Father's Day to 3 people's favorite landing spot,' Garner sweetly wrote on the photo. (You can see the photo here.) The former couple shares three children: Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 13. Despite the rocky ending of their marriage fraught with addiction and alleged infidelity, Garner has always maintained that she has no regrets about her life with Affleck. 'I didn't marry the big fat movie star; I married him,' she told Vanity Fair in 2016. 'And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can't have these three babies and so much of what we had. He's the love of my life.' Two years after Garner and Affleck had finalized their divorce, he still praised his ex-wife's parenting skills. 'When you have children with somebody, you're connected to them forever,' Affleck explained to People in February 2020. 'And I'm very lucky she is the mother of my children. I'm very grateful and respectful of her. Our marriage didn't work, and that's difficult. Both of us really believe that it's important for kids to see their parents respect one another and get along, whether they're together or not.' The last year for them wasn't easy either despite no longer being married. Affleck was trying to wrap up his divorce with Jennifer Lopez and the tabloids went crazy about his close bond with Garner even though she's dating John Miller. 'Ben and Jen are closer than ever,' a source told Life & Style in December 2024. 'They've developed a mutual respect and a deeper level of friendship they didn't have before… [Garner] has watched him evolve. She's seen the progress and the transformation, and it's changed how she feels about him.' It's no longer a romantic connection, but Affleck and Garner appear to have unlocked a new level of co-parenting — one filled with admiration and of SheKnows Tween & Teen Slang 2025: A Definitive Guide to 'What the Hellyante' Your Kid Is Saying Right Now Celebrity Parents Who Are So Proud of Their LGBTQ Kids Recent Baby & Toddler Product Recalls Every Parent and Caregiver Should Know About
