Through the partnership, OpenPayd's global fiat infrastructure including real-time payment rails, multi currency accounts and virtual IBANs will support Ripple Payments, into EUR and GBP. Ripple's cross-border payments solution, Ripple Payments employs blockchain and digital assets, and a global network of payout partners to deliver fast, transparent, reliable cross-border payments and on/off ramps for banks, crypto companies, and fintechs worldwide.
The partnership also marks a major step forward in the expansion of OpenPayd's recently launched stablecoin infrastructure. OpenPayd will provide direct minting and burning capabilities for Ripple USD (RLUSD). Businesses will be able to seamlessly convert between fiat and RLUSD, accessing OpenPayd's full suite of services, including embedded accounts, payments, and trading, via a single API.
RLUSD is an enterprise-grade, USD-denominated stablecoin developed with trust, utility, and compliance at its core - backed by Ripple's years of experience working with both crypto and traditional finance.
This solution supports a wide range of use cases, including cross-border payments, global treasury management, and streamlined access to U.S. dollar liquidity. As enterprise demand for stablecoins grows, businesses need real-time, compliant infrastructure to manage money globally, and seamlessly between traditional finance and blockchains. This partnership delivers faster, more transparent, and cost-efficient payment flows.
'Ripple has long been a pioneer in blockchain based payments. By combining Ripple Payments with OpenPayd's rail agnostic and fully interoperable fiat infrastructure, we are delivering a unified platform that bridges traditional finance and blockchain. This partnership enables businesses to move and manage money globally, access stablecoin liquidity at scale, and simplify cross border payments, treasury flows and dollar-based operations,' said Iana Dimitrova, Chief Executive at OpenPayd.
The collaboration reflects a shared belief that the key to mainstream stablecoin adoption is robust first and last mile fiat infrastructure. Together, Ripple and OpenPayd are delivering the tools enterprises need to move and manage money globally and future proof their payment strategies through blockchain enabled finance.
'The future of global finance depends on seamless interoperability between traditional infrastructure and digital assets. Our collaboration with OpenPayd gives enterprises reliable access to RLUSD, combining the stability and compliance they expect with the connectivity they need. This is how we accelerate real-world adoption of stablecoins at scale,' said Jack McDonald, SVP Stablecoins, Ripple.
Ripple's simple, secure, compliant digital asset infrastructure means it is well-positioned to provide the core services that financial institutions need to tokenize, store, exchange and move digital assets. Ripple Payments has near-global coverage with 90+ payout markets representing more than 90% coverage of the daily FX markets, processing more than $70 billion in volume.

Vietnam to establish international financial center in Da Nang
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... Vietnamese authorities are targeting regional and international digital asset dominance following the passage of a new law recognizing digital currencies. The latest push by the country is a proposed financial center to compete with regional heavyweights in the Asia Pacific. The Ministry of Finance is collaborating with relevant ministries to draft a bill for the National Assembly to establish a financial center. The report reveals that Vietnamese authorities have picked Da Nang to host the incoming financial center. Sources with knowledge of the matter say Da Nang was chosen for its growth potential and strategic advantages. Da Nang is between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in central Vietnam. Furthermore, a strong tourism industry, a deep-sea port, and an international airport are supporting the push for the launch of an international financial center in Da Nang. 'We believe Da Nang can become a powerful new international financial hub,' said Le Hoang Phuc, Director of Da Nang's Semiconductor and AI Center (DSAC). The National Assembly Resolution 136 has given the green light for Da Nang to experiment with 'special mechanisms' in a sandbox model. With the backing of the highest law-making body, the city has welcomed a pilot project allowing tourists to make stablecoin payments. For now, tourists are limited to using USDT to pay for goods and services, with city officials keen to expand the offering after initial rounds of evaluation. However, the draft regulation will contain strict guardrails for digital asset service providers, mandating them to comply with global Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules. Furthermore, service providers in the incoming financial center will reserve a compensation fund for users in the event of black swan events like cybersecurity breaches that align with international best practices. Vietnam makes national push for digital assets In mid-June, Vietnam passed a new legislation that formally recognized digital assets. Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh has earmarked a portion of its national budget for blockchain, joining the growing list of regional initiatives. The metrics for adoption are largely impressive, with 21% of the Vietnamese population holding digital assets. Outside of blockchain, authorities are pursuing artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies, urging SOEs to embrace digitization. Taiwan prepaid card and digital wallet market to soar to $14.94 billion in 2029 Elsewhere, a new report predicted that the adoption of prepaid cards and digital wallets in Taiwan would record impressive growth levels before the end of the decade. Research and Markets highlight an upward growth trend in the local prepaid card and digital wallet market. Between 2020 and 2024, the sector racked up a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.8% to reach $11.51 billion. However, the report anticipates a projected 5.2% CAGR from 2025 to 2029, representing a market valuation of $14.94 billion before the end of the decade. By the end of the year, the market will grow to $12 billion in a run fueled by a raft of factors. The biggest growth driver is changing consumer habits among Taiwan's residents. As smartphone penetration reaches its highest levels, a surge in mobile-first payments incorporating prepaid cards and digital wallets is mainstream. Analysts are stressing the trend of contactless payments after the COVID-19 pandemic, while an e-commerce and food delivery boom is tipped to contribute to the sector's CAGR. Furthermore, Taiwan's gamification and cashback payments culture is backing the rise of digital wallets in the island nation. Outside consumer habits, a raft of government agencies also contribute to the rising prepaid card and digital wallet adoption. Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) is advancing mobile payment and e-money adoption by issuing licenses to a wider class of service providers. The country's real-time payment infrastructure and integration, as well as plans to roll out a national digital wallet by the end of 2025 can trigger growth metrics. By 2029, the report tips LINE Pay to hold the biggest share of the digital wallet space, followed by Apple Pay (NASDAQ: AAPL) and Google Pay (NASDAQ: GOOGL). For prepaid card providers, EasyCard and iPASS will lead the cohort, driven by their wide application across retail, hospitality, and transport segments in the economy. Bank-issued prepaid cards will contribute to the slice, while corporate card utilities for customer rewards and employee incentives are projected to add volume to the sector. Digital assets to power Taiwan's sector growth While not mentioned in the report, digital assets are expected to support Taiwan's digital wallet growth. A new digital asset law and the influx of global service providers signal ecosystem growth. Furthermore, establishing strict AML rules sets the foundation for the country's integration of digital assets into key sectors of the global economy. Taiwan also embraces artificial intelligence while striking key regional and international partnerships to improve its local payment landscape. Blockchain: The most expensive vaporware in history?
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... When Satoshi Nakamoto released the Bitcoin white paper in 2008, he envisioned an electronic cash system for the world. Satoshi talked about micropayments, peer-to-peer transactions, and how Bitcoin 'never really hits a scaling ceiling.' He envisioned small casual transactions, making new types of commerce possible. He even included a poker client in the original Bitcoin code. Yet, in 2025, Bitcoin is nothing more than a Wall Street plaything for reckless gamblers like Michael Saylor to bet on, and the wider blockchain industry is a mess. Companies like Blackrock (NASDAQ: BLK) are in the game, and the small, casual transactions Satoshi envisioned have to go through a layer two 'solution' called the Lightning Network controlled by corporations like Blockstream and Strike. Bitcoin has become unrecognizable in almost two decades, and blockchain tech has failed to deliver on its potential. A dismal failure to deliver on the promise of blockchain tech It's not just what Bitcoin has become—Ethereum and the thousands of other chains haven't fared much better. Despite endless updates, Ethereum is still a tangled mess of side chains, layer twos, and bridges, and no single application has been a mainstream success. What about enterprise blockchain? Remember IBM's (NASDAQ: IBM) Hyperledger and Corda's R3? These days, they're hardly mentioned, and they've seen almost no adoption. Tens of billions and a decade of time have been spent, and there's no sign that any of these systems will be used seriously. Why has it gone down this way? There are a few key reasons. First, the greedfest that saw speculation replace utility and building set the industry back by a decade or more. There isn't an application anyone could have built that would have outperformed the financial returns on simply holding BTC or Ethereum for 10 years. Capital goes where it is incentivized to go, and with no killer apps, the blockchains that were supposed to host them suffer. Ironically, the technical limitations of many of these blockchains have killed the once promising apps built on them. Second, everything is fragmented. Instead of apps making each other more valuable due to interoperability and unified liquidity on one scalable chain and coin, DeFi, gaming, and other apps exist on hundreds of different blockchains, none of which can scale well enough to host the others even if they migrate. Even on Ethereum, popular apps exist on different layer twos like Polygon, so moving funds from one to another necessitates fees, bridges, and the associated security risks. That brings us nicely to the last point—the user experience on almost every blockchain sucks. Every good VC knows that the best tech doesn't necessarily win—the one with the best UX stands the greatest chance of success. Yet, even seasoned professionals struggle to understand the complex web of wallets, bridges, and different standards on this blockchain. With retail out, no mainstream apps on any chain, increasing concern about the environmental and societal costs, and dead chains that never delivered on their promises scattered all over the battlefield, it's little wonder that the blockchain economy today can best be described as a slow-motion collapse of credibility and hope. It's sad to see, but it didn't have to be this way. BSV could serve as the base layer for everything in blockchain Every blockchain proponent promises their favorite chain is the solution to all of this nonsense, but unlike the others, BSV fans like me can back it up with demonstrable proof. This blockchain, which follows Satoshi Nakamoto's original design, can already do one million transactions per second for fees of fractions of a penny. It has a growing list of applications in cybersecurity, supply chain management, Web3 gaming, and more. While BSV is by no means a boom town, it has been gaining ground steadily, and unlike Ethereum, Polkadot, or any of the others, it can scale unboundedly and is attracting interest from all over. Polkadot is $500M. Promised a No users. No devs. No future. Here's how one of crypto's biggest bets faded into a ghost chain 👇🧵 Once again, these aren't unfounded claims; they're provable. The Teranode update has shown that BSV can consistently process millions of transactions per second. Furthermore, fees don't increase when transaction capacity is pushed to its limits. Check out WhatsOnChain for the latest BSV stats, including daily transactions and average fees. Just like Satoshi said, it never really hits a scaling ceiling, and the fees are low all the time. Let's unite and build a blockchain-powered world together If the blockchain industry will amount to anything, we've got to set aside petty politics, tribal affiliations, and wishful thinking and embrace the solution that works today. BSV's architects have already achieved these technical milestones with only a few hundred key players; imagine what could be achieved if all the time, energy, brainpower, and money in the industry decided to circle the wagons and push the limits even further. In 2025, most blockchains are vaporware, and the industry is widely considered a joke. However, there's still time to turn the corner, and in five years, those of us who staked our names to promote blockchains' virtues can be smiling as everything we told the critics it was capable of comes true, or we can still be spinning in circles hoping for a miracle from the same teams that have consistently failed to deliver in the past. It's time to set the past aside, embrace the one scalable protocol that can serve as the backbone of everything, and build on BSV. Euro zone investor morale hits three-year record as recovery broadens
BERLIN, July 7 (Reuters) - Investor sentiment in the euro zone improved more than expected in July to hit its highest level in more than three years, a survey showed on Monday, as the bloc's economic recovery broadened. The Sentix index for the euro zone rose to 4.5 from 0.2 in June, beating the 1.1 forecast from analysts polled by Reuters and marking its third consecutive monthly increase. The current situation sub-index improved notably but remained in negative territory, rising by 5.8 points to -7.3, while expectations climbed 2.8 points to 17.0, also marking a third straight rise. The survey of investors, conducted between July 4-6, showed the recovery was broad-based across regions, with the United States economy making particularly strong gains after lagging in previous months. Germany, Europe's largest economy, also showed continued improvement with its overall index reaching -0.4, its highest since February 2022, as the current situation rose for a fifth straight month. The survey indicated the European Central Bank's room for further interest rate cuts may narrow as the economic upturn strengthens, though inflation pressures remain contained for now.
