TAVI is a minimally invasive procedure used to replace a narrowed Aortic Valve that fails to open properly, a condition known as Aortic Stenosis. It can be potentially life-changing for elderly and high-risk patients who are not suitable for open-heart surgery. Among the 50 procedures performed, the team has successfully navigated many complex cases – including bicuspid aortic valves (typically more challenging due to having two cusps instead of three) and extremely narrow femoral arteries, sometimes as small as 4.95 mm. In rare cases where femoral access was not feasible, the team has also performed trans carotid (neck-access) TAVIs with excellent results – demonstrating both technical expertise and adherence to standardized global best practices.

IHH inks Fortis-Gleneagles O&M deal to strengthen pan-India platform
Under the agreement, Fortis will manage operations of six Gleneagles hospitals and one clinic, earning a monthly fee and expanding its bed capacity and national presence Sanket Koul New Delhi In a bid to consolidate its healthcare presence in India, Malaysian healthcare major IHH on Wednesday announced an operation and maintenance (O&M) services agreement between its two subsidiary companies—Fortis Healthcare and Gleneagles Healthcare India (GHIPL). As part of the agreement, Fortis will manage the operations of five out of the six hospitals and one clinic under the Gleneagles India network. The agreement will become effective for the sixth hospital—Gleneagles BGS Hospital in Karnataka—upon receipt of acceptance and acknowledgment from certain third parties. The move expands Fortis' geographic footprint by increasing beds under its management, and provides incremental revenue and improves profitability through direct service fees. As part of the deal, Fortis will be entitled to receive a monthly service fee at the rate of 3 per cent of the net revenue of GHIPL's hospitals business on a consolidated basis, which stood at Rs 718.5 crore as of March 31, 2025. Fortis' consolidated revenue stood at Rs 7,783 crore for the full financial year 2024–25 (FY25), of which Rs 6,528 crore came from its hospital business. The healthcare major currently has 4,750 operational beds, including O&M beds, in 27 facilities. It recorded 69 per cent bed occupancy, generating an average revenue of Rs 2.42 crore per occupied bed in FY25. The Delhi-based chain, however, added that the arrangement with Gleneagles is being done on an arm's length basis, as determined by an independent financial adviser. 'The arrangement does not entail any acquisition and is only for the provision of O&M services,' Fortis said in a regulatory filing on the exchanges. The filing also stated that GHIPL shall bear all third-party and out-of-pocket expenses incurred by Fortis, in the manner laid down in the definitive documents. Commenting on the deal, Prem Kumar Nair, group chief executive officer of IHH, said the O&M services agreement reflects the company's commitment to long-term growth in one of its most important markets. Social media influencer Urfi Javed has shared a video on her Instagram account documenting the process of dissolving her lip fillers, which she thought were misplaced and did not make her look any better. In it she mentioned all the guardrails needed for corrective cosmetic procedures as hers had been botched up. She captioned the reel saying, 'No this is not a filter, I decided to get my fillers dissolved as they were very misplaced. I will get them again but naturally. I'm not saying no to fillers at all. Dissolving is painful. Also it's very very important you go to a good doctor for fillers, all these doctors with fancy clinics know nothing.' 'The swollen lip video is only half the story of a job that had gone bad and reinforces myths of pain and bruising rather than facts. But lip fillers are safe when done by a skilled dermatologist. They know exactly how much of the filler to put and can do so in a relatively painless manner. Even filler extraction is not as painful as shown in the video. This delicate procedure should be done by a board certified dermatologist in a clinical setting,' says Dr Rashmi Sharma, clinical dermatologist at Fortis, Vasant Kunj, Delhi. So what are lip fillers? Lip fillers are injectable molecules of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body, which can absorb water. This helps plump up the lips and give them volume, shape and definition. How are lip fillers dissolved? A dissolving lip filler is a safe and effective option. We use an enzyme substance called hyaluronidase, which breaks down the hyaluronic acid present in the lip filler. This can be painful for sensitive areas like the lip. However, it can be minimised by the injection technique and skill of the doctor. Should you follow a protocol before dissolving your lip filler? Do it a week prior to any major event that you may want to attend. Disclose your complete medical history, infection, autoimmune diseases and herpes. Stay hydrated. If you are on blood thinners, stop them three days before. You may have to avoid medications or supplements that may increase bleeding and interfere with your healing, like aspirin. Stop smoking too. Your dermatologist will check if you are allergic to the hyaluronidase injections through a patch test and even keep a crash cart ready should there be an allergic reaction. There is some pain on the site after the procedure, so an ice pack or a numbing cream is applied. Do watch out for complications like extreme redness, pallor or whitening of the area, severe pain, cold sensation, any bleeding. Your dermatologist can address that immediately. Once the procedure is done, you cannot go in for facials or peels for a week. Do not massage the treated area, don't touch it either. Stay away from vigorous exercise, steam and sauna for three days. Do all lip fillers dissolve? Hyaluronic-based fillers are the most common type of filler and can dissolve easily. However, if your filler contains silicone or other substances, you can't dissolve it. How does the filler go out of the body? Once dissolved, it is excreted through your liver and kidneys. How much time does dissolution take? The entire treatment to dissolve your lip filler may take between 10 and 15 minutes in a session. Swelling, bruising, tenderness are common and go away in a few days. You may be recommended some medication for them. Your lips will eventually decrease in volume and return to their appearance as they were before your filler. What should you know before going in for fillers? Go for authentic topline quality brands. Safety is worth the cost.
