A WNBA game was just interrupted by a flying sex toy and the game has never been more gay

Yahoo5 days ago
A bright green sex toy just made a headline-grabbing appearance at a WNBA game, and the internet can't stop talking about it.
As the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream battled it out on the court during a deadlocked 75-75 point game, the final minute before the clock wound down was interrupted by a fan throwing a lime green dildo onto the court.
The WNBA has never been more gay than in this moment, and that's really saying something considering how sapphic this sport is.
Right as the clock struck 1:00 in the fourth quarter of this contentious game on July 29, the spicy toy was lobbed onto the court, and the referee blew the whistle to stop the game while they tried to figure out what the object was.

In a video clip of the incident that has since gone viral, a police officer is seen collecting the dildo so that play could resume. The whole thing was caught on tape because an ingenious camera person managed to zoom in on the sex toy that managed to stop a professional basketball game.
This is the kind of journalism we want to see more of!
People on the court and in the audience were clearly perplexed by what had happened, but no one was more surprised than the commentator who said, 'Nobody's picked the object up yet, and – oh my gosh' when she finally saw what it was.
The lime green dildo turned out to be a good omen for the Valkyries, who ended up winning 77-75.
Normally, we'd say the New York Liberty have everyone beat on sapphic entertainment during a game because of Ellie the Elephant's sexy dance moves, but Atlanta may now be crowned the most lesbian arena in the league!
Of course, this event broke the internet, and people all over social media have been flooding the timelines of women's sports fans with hilarious memes ever since.

Yankees swept, Red Sox sweep & a weekend recap

That was the first time in franchise history that the Marlins swept the Yankees. Miami is now back to .500 while the Yankees have fallen to third in the AL East. Although New York still owns one of the coveted Wild Card spots, is Aaron Boone's seat starting to get a bit warmer? Jake and Jordan discuss this, what is going on with the Yankees and if they still look like they can be a postseason contender. Feeling the exact opposite of the Yankees right now is their bitter rival, the Boston Red Sox. Boston spent the weekend cleaning up Fenway as they swept the Houston Astros. The Red Sox now sit atop of the AL Wild Card race and just three games back in the AL East. The Milwaukee Brewers were the third and final sweep of the weekend as they took care of the Washington Nationals. How are both the Brewers and Red Sox looking as they inch closer to the postseason? Is Jacob Misiorowski going to the IL as big of a deal as it may seem? The guys dive into both of these series. There was a baseball game at a Nascar stadium this weekend. The Cincinnati Reds played the Atlanta Braves at Bristol Motor Speedway. The game finished up on Sunday after Saturday saw it get rained out in the first inning. Although the pomp and circumstance, complete with a Home Run Car, was dampened by the rain, the spectacle was still a sight to behold as the Braves took down the Reds. Did MLB hit a home run with the Speedway Classic?

Yahoo Sports senior MLB analysts Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman reflect on baseball's record-setting--and rain delayed--game between the Braves and Reds at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. Hear the full conversation on the 'Baseball Bar-B-Cast' podcast - and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you listen. View more Video Transcript You know, maybe we should throw this one in turbo mode, Jordan, because they did go fast over the weekend at the first ever. MLB Speedway Classic between the Braves and the Reds, these two teams played a game. Almost kind of two games, played a game. At the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee, a NASCAR track, a custom built field was constructed in the infield, I believe is what it is called in in NASCAR, in the middle of the track. For the purpose of, as, as I understand it, setting the record for the most fans at a regular season game. I love this idea, like, I think that like we want baseball to continue to try and do new stuff. I think this was an unbelievably ambitious version of that, that as we saw was pretty difficult to execute rain or not. Uh, that said, I don't want this to discourage the league from continuing to try new stuff. I agree. And this was, this was a hell of a spectacle and I, I know the rain impacted, I'm sure the broadcast and how it was received, whether you were there or not, uh, but the, but the scenes were, were amazing. Bristol Motor Speedway knows how to have 90,000 people show up in the middle of nowhere and accommodate, right? That happens twice a year, I believe when they have the races there. The issues seemed to be like, you got to have enough food. That is, I, I know that maybe the rain, complicated things, having enough food feels like a base level accommodation. I would say that starting the game and playing and eating on Saturday in those conditions felt like something of a. Sham. Like that was outrageous and ridiculous. I know that they wanted to get the game in. I understand that. But if Sunday was an option, they should have just banged it earlier. This was cool. Keep doing stuff like this, MLB. It is appreciated, it is interesting, it breaks up the season. It brings the sport to places that don't usually get to see the sport. There's a novelty to it. It is interesting. I would just say. Sheryl Lee Ralph wedding No. 2, 'Abbott' star renews vows in opulent ceremony

Sheryl Lee Ralph is reupping her wedding vows 20 years after tying the knot. The "Abbott Elementary" star, known for playing the firm-but-loving kindergarten teacher Barbara Howard on the ABC sitcom, recently hosted her own a vow renewal ceremony to mark two decades of marriage with her husband, Pennsylvania state Senator Vincent Hughes. The event, originally intended to be an intimate gathering, wound up welcoming some 250 guests at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where Ralph walked up the storied steps in a shawl with an 80-foot train, according to Vogue. "How could I walk up all of those steps without leaving a trail of something for everybody to look at," Ralph, 68, told the outlet. She climbed the steps – famous for their appearance in a workout montage from "Rocky" – and met Hughes halfway up, before ascending together to the top, where the ceremony kicked off. Ralph, a Broadway icon whose second act with "Abbott" has made her an even bigger star, made headlines earlier this year when she revealed that she and Hughes don't live together. Her work in entertainment keeps her in Los Angeles, she said at the time, and his as a state legislator keeps him in Philadelphia – so they make it work long distance. "I wasn't at a place where I was willing to give up my career, but I also didn't want to give up having a stable relationship with the kind of man that I knew would be there for me," the actress told Vogue. Bette Midler and Sheryl Lee Ralph dish on aging, their R-rated movie 'Fabulous Four' The pair married in 2005. To mark their anniversary, Ralph wanted to lean into her stage roots. "I come from the stage, and I love the drama of what you bring on the stage," she said of her fashion choices. Ralph wore a custom gown and Dior pumps. The shawl, in place of a veil, was carried by 22 ballerinas from the city's Philadanco company. Gwyneth Paltrow, 'apartners' and why some people live separately from their spouses A vow renewal represents a celebration not of new love, but of an old love evolved, Ralph told Vogue. "In marriage, we have so many things that happen in life," she said. "People live. People die. Relationships change. You change. Your partner changes. Your family, your immediate family, your extended family – there are changes in life." "Then there's just the everyday of it. How are you able to get back up again and continue being together? I love that sentiment," she added, referencing the fighting spirit behind the movie that made Philly's signature steps famous.
