Olivia Rodrigo And Louis Partridge Join Iris Apatow On Summer Getaway

Olivia Rodrigo And Louis Partridge Join Iris Apatow On Summer Getaway

Elle15 hours ago

Olivia Rodrigo is in the midst of a thriving romance. In October 2023, The Sun reported that Rodrigo is dating actor Louis Partridge. Neither Rodrigo nor Partridge confirmed the news, but, months later in December, they were photographed making out in New York City. (That's all the proof we need.)
Back in October, fans suspected they could be dating the week before Halloween, as the two were photographed out together in London. In the shots, Partridge and Rodrigo's arms were wrapped around the other's waist. People covered the dating rumors on Halloween, citing the photo and noting that neither of their reps commented on the potential romance when asked.
Rodrigo spoke to Vogue in July about how she doesn't 'kiss and tell' when dodging a question about her relationship status. She conceded that she understands the public's interest in her love life. 'It's an interesting thing to think about,' she said. 'I understand it. I could sit here and be like, "I don't get why people do that," but I do it so often.'
Here, everything to know about Partridge and his connection to Rodrigo.
Rodrigo appeared with Partridge in photos that surfaced on social media during her London visit in late October. In one shot, they appeared to have their arms around each other.
Days later, on Halloween, a source told The Sun that Partridge and Rodrigo were dating. 'Olivia flew to London with her best pal, singer Conan Gray, but it was Louis who she came to see,' the source alleged. 'They met through mutual pals earlier in the year and have been messaging quite a bit. She has spent a few days in the capital hanging out with them all but it's been Louis who she has been inseparable from. They have been for dinners and nights out. They hit a club together on Friday night and were acting very coupley. It's really sweet to see her happy.'
Partridge added to dating rumours between him and Rodrigo when he was seen supporting her the weekend of December 8-10 in New York City. He was first seen in the crowd that Friday during her Jingle Ball performance, at one point filming her. The next day, after Rodrigo's Saturday Night Live performance, he was seen arriving to the after-party to celebrate with her.
Paparazzi captured clear proof Rodrigo and Partridge were romantically involved ahead of the holidays. They were photographed kissing passionately at a gas station in their first major PDA moment.
Shortly after their gas station makeout, Rodrigo and Partridge went on a getaway. People reported that one day after the kissing photos were captured, the couple was seen in Tannersville in upstate New York.
'They were browsing the apothecary goods at a shop called Sundry on Main Street,' an eyewitness told People. 'They were very cute and [were] overheard saying it was their first time in the area. They mostly spoke with gazes and body language. It was very cute.'
That Sunday, December 17, they were photographed back in New York City holding hands.
While Rodrigo and Partridge weren't photographed by paparazzi in January 2024, a comment on TikTok went viral where a user claimed Rodrigo had spent time with Partridge and his parents. The user said that they saw the group at a pub in the Isle of Wight.
Footage surfaced of the couple with their arms wrapped around each other during a visit to Disneyland in California during Valentine's Day weekend. It marks one of their most public dates of the new year.
On February 24, a fan account posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, with a clip from Rodrigo performing on her Guts Tour. The video pans over to Partridge, who is himself filming his girlfriend like a proud boyfriend would, and moving along to the music.
Partridge was seen in the audience at the St. Louis stop of Rodrigo's Guts tour on March 12. The coincidence of Louis...in St. Louis was not lost on fans:
He was also seen at her Nashville show the week before and appears to be traveling with Rodrigo from stop to stop.
The actor spoke to the magazine about why he prefers to keep their relationship private. 'Dating probably shouldn't be done in the public eye,' he said. 'There's enough going on between two people. You don't need the voices of thousands of others in your head. I think she's got it a lot worse than I have. I can be a bit of a normal person. She's got tonnes and tonnes of eyes on her case.'
He was asked how he handles the comments he receives from fans about his love life. He replied, 'If there's a load of people nattering in a room about you, you can choose to put your ear to the door to hear what they say or not. I think you're probably better off not letting curiosity get the better of you.'
Rodrigo shared her public birthday wishes to Partridge on June 3 when he shared an Instagram post to celebrate turning 21. 'Welcome to the 21 club angel boy,' she wrote, adding a string of pink heart emojis.
Rodrigo joined Partridge at the premiere of his TV series Disclaimer during the Venice Film Festival on August 29. The couple held hands as they arrived at the event. They matched in dark ensembles, Rodrigo wearing a semi-sheer black floral dress. Partridge opted for a gray suit.
On Saturday, August 31, Partridge went Instagram official with Rodrigo by posting a black and white photo of them together at the festival in which they are holding hands and smiling at each other.
They also posed for a sweet photo at filmmaker dinner held to celebrate Disclaimer's release in Venice on August 30. In the photo, Partridge is giving Rodrigo a gentle kiss on the forehead.
The couple put in an appearance at Old Trafford on in Manchester, England, on November 3 to catch the Premier League match between Manchester United and Chelsea.
In footage seen on X, formerly Twitter, the couple enjoyed the warm up ahead of the game from a very close perspective. Rodrigo could be seen taking pictures and putting Partridge in position against the field for a photo op.
In several images from the event, Rodrigo could be seen wearing a small silver 'L' necklace.
Partridge dodged a question about whether Rodrigo's track about a foreign love interest was an ode to him. He laughed and said, 'Not my song, not my place. So I wouldn't know.'
He did share that Rodrigo has been shaping his music taste: 'My girlfriend has been trying to get me into more pop recently—Chappell Roan has been on repeat,' he said.
He also revealed that he sees himself as a golden retriever boyfriend type. 'I think in past relationships my mind worked at a different speed to the women I've known,' he said. 'A bit slower. The way I would characterise it is like a Golden Retriever and a black cat. I can imagine being happy sitting and catching a Frisbee.'
Rodrigo was spotted arriving to the award ceremony with Partridge by her side. And although they didn't pose on the red carpet together, they were seen cuddling up in the ceremony.
Rodrigo subtly tucked in a photo of Partridge in an Instagram showcasing how she celebrated turning 22. He appears holding a ladybug in the sixth shot.
She wrote, 'thank u for all the birthday wishes!!! I feel like the luckiest girl alive!!! grateful for this year and all the love, friendship, music, magic and spaghetti I got to experience! cheers to 22!!!💋❤️🐞'
Fans noted that Rodrigo has made a habit of just showing hints of Partridge on Instagram:
On May 3, Iris Apatow's boyfriend, Sam Nivola, shared a carousel of photos featuring both Rodrigo and Partridge. The couple appeared throughout the photos of what looked like an epic summer vacation. The group was swimming, sunbathing, playing tennis, dining, and just generally enjoying themselves.
Partridge has been acting since he was a kid, but his big breakout role was when he played Millie Bobby Brown's love interest Viscount Tewskbury in the Netflix film series Enola Holmes. The first film came out in 2020, putting the spotlight on him.
Prior to that, Partridge acted in the BBC sitcom Boomers and shorts including Second Skin, About a Dog, and Beneath Water. Since then, he's appeared in Medici, Paddington 2, and had a major star moment when he played Sid Vicious in FX's miniseries Pistol.
Partridge was born in London on June 3, 2003. He marked his 20th birthday and the end of his teens with a selfie on Instagram. 'Going into 20 with eyes half shut and a beard a quarter grown. Only way is up from here 🎂🕺🍊🍷⭐️♥️,' he wrote.
Rodrigo is a Pisces, so for the astrologically curious, they are dual signs, making their pairing a more intriguing match. As the AstroTwins wrote for ELLE US, these signs can be a little wary of commitment, but the pairing offers a growth opportunity: 'a golden chance to peer into love's looking glass and see your own shadowy id mirrored back.'
Partridge told The Face in May 2022 that he had a girlfriend, an 'ex-friend turned girlfriend [who's] in the business.'
The Daily Mail later reported in September 2022 that he and 27-year-old actress Sydney Chandler, co-stars on Pistol, had struck up a romance. The outlet cited The Sun, and a source telling the outlet that they had been involved for quite some time privately. 'They've been quietly going out for about a year now but have managed to keep it under the radar,' the source alleged. 'They seem very close to going public with their relationship and Louis clearly played the role of the supportive boyfriend very well.'
They attended the British Fashion Awards together in December that year.
The length of their relationship isn't clear, as the two stars kept much of it private.
Following the first Enola Holmes' release, the then-17-year-old Partridge told Gentleman's Journal that he was 'still focusing on school, so I don't have that classic actor's problem of waiting for the phone to ring. It has been difficult in the past, though. I remember sleeping in the car on the way to meet director Harry Bradbeer and Millie Bobby Brown for rehearsals—having already done 3 GCSEs that same day…'
He went on to complete his A levels in 2021, receiving two As (in English and French) and one A (in Film Studies), per The Face.
Partridge spoke to Gentleman's Journal about liking older music in his teens. 'I've recently—and quite randomly—got into the doo-wop genre of the 1950s and 60s,' he said. 'That's all since stumbling across "In the Still of the Night" by Fred Parris and The Satins on Spotify. Those songs are just so simple and usually don't have great lyrics, but just feel warm. Other than that, I'm a big Shazammer—and take no shame in whipping my phone out in a restaurant to discover the name of a song.'
Partridge told Gentleman's Journal that his relationship with social media is a little complicated. 'Social media is a blessing and a curse,' he said. 'So far, I've been glad of the opportunities it has brought me. However, I feel like it'd be easy to become completely wrapped up in numbers and likes and all of that. It's still all relatively new to me, but I imagine, after a while, the novelty wears off. I've never been one to put my entire life out there, and I don't think that will change. But, so far, all I've received are sweet comments—touch wood…'
Partridge currently has 9.2 million followers on Instagram.
Partridge does more than just act. He is an ambassador for Prada, posing in the brand's 2023 holiday campaign most recently.
He spoke to Esquire in June 2022 about what he likes most about the fashion house. 'I first admired Prada for their classic silhouettes,' he said. 'I've always been a fan of simple and classy, and I think Prada does that better than anyone. With Raf, I became aware of his work when I started getting into fashion as a teenager. Walking round London, his clothes would always stand out to me as they always seemed to go against convention in one way or another. His first pieces I noticed were the Ozweego tennis shoes, his loose-knitted jumpers, and his denim with Calvin Klein. Though I couldn't afford any of it, I used to go to Dover Street Market and try it all on. I think the combination of their two styles creates something classic yet constantly evolving, and I love that. I'm always surprised.'
The actor was asked by W in May 2022 about his teenage years, and whether he was punk or emo growing up. 'Nah, [I didn't have that phase],' he said. 'I'm glad. Maybe this was my punk phase. I had a few weird phases, but I never went for emo. Early, early, it was Ben 10 t-shirts, this kid show that I used to love back in the day. It makes me embarrassed even talking about it now, but I used to wait outside shops in London for ages and buy these stupid clothes because I thought it was cool.'
He did add later that he was a bit of a hypebeast, calling his biggest fashion regret 'queuing up outside of Supreme every weekend when I was about 13 years old. It was just a waste of time. I used to think all these clothes were so cool, but I've thankfully grown out of waiting outside to shops for clothes.'
Partridge spoke about his friendship with Millie Bobby Brown to W. He confirmed that the two keep in touch. 'When she's in London, we get together, but she's off doing crazy things and I'm off in New York now, far from home,' he said. 'It's rare that we overlap, so it's nice coming back to the film when we're in town together for a while.'
Partridge spoke to W about his first brush with celebrity, saying he has been recognised in public 'a few times. I had a little bit of trouble there because I was staying at the cheapest places possible, at hostels, because that's how you want to do it, I guess. But the Brazilians were so lovely and friendly and welcoming and generous that I didn't have any problems—too bad of problems, that is.'
He expanded on his experience to The Face. 'It makes me more aware of myself, I'd say, out on the street, which I'm not a massive fan of, just because of photos and things,' he said. 'But it's not the worst thing in the world!'
Recognition out in public, 'it comes and goes, to be honest,' he said. 'Yesterday I went into town and I was recognised three times before I even got to Waterloo [station]. It was nuts. But then some days I can do anything, be on Oxford Street, and nothing. And I haven't been recognised today, which is nice.'
As for what the sudden shift in attention following Enola Holmes was like, he explained, 'It was just insane. I think it's a little weird for my sister at school because, obviously, the kind of people that watch Enola Holmes are her mates and in her year, that demographic. But she really doesn't care about it too much. My family are trying to keep things as normal as possible… even though it's kind of fucking mad that it's happening!'

Rosie O'Donnell blasts Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sánchez's Italy wedding: 'It turned my stomach'

For most weddings, well-wishes for the newlyweds are a common courtesy. But Rosie O'Donnell is bucking tradition. The outspoken comedian and TV personality, 63, blasted the high-profile wedding of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and media entrepreneur Lauren Sánchez in a poem-style letter shared to her Substack newsletter on June 29. Bezos and Sánchez, whose lavish nuptials in Italy sparked controversy and protests, were married in a star-studded ceremony in Venice on June 27. "The BEZOS wedding, it turned my stomach. Seeing all these billionaires gathering in the gross excess of it all," O'Donnell wrote. "Is Oprah friends with Jeff Bezos? Really — how is that possible? He treats his employees with disdain. By any metric he is not a nice man." Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez married: Couple ties the knot in controversial ceremony Winfrey was among the many famous faces in attendance at Bezos and Sánchez's wedding, which boasted an A-list guest list that included Kim and Khloé Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Bill Gates, Kris Jenner and Brooks Nader. O'Donnell also aimed at Sánchez, whom she described as Bezos' "fake fembot wife." The former talk show host's letter also included a before-and-after photo of Sánchez that appeared to criticize her use of plastic surgery. "Why would he choose her after the salt of the earth Mackenzie," O'Donnell continued, referring to Bezos' first wife, author and billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott. He "sold his soul is what it looks like from here. The devil is smiling at all his conquests." Bezos-Sánchez wedding festivities: Couple puts a bow on wedding weekend with last bash O'Donnell, who moved to Ireland in January following the 2024 election victory of President Donald Trump, also referenced the Republican president's proposed "big, beautiful bill," as well as other sociopolitical issues such as LGBTQ rights in the U.S. and the humanitarian crisis of the Israel-Hamas conflict. "Bezos was raised by a single mother. He knows exactly what he does," O'Donnell wrote. "So do all of his guests — posing for photos, forgetting themselves in their designer outfits. Ready for a Vogue cover, a spot on 'ET,' more worthless performative nonsense." She added: "We have become numb to gross excess. We have learned to tolerate it: celebrity worship, devoid of humanity." 10 bingeable memoirs to check out: Celebrities tell all about aging, marriage and Beyoncé In the weeks leading up to Bezos and Sánchez's luxury wedding, several protesters — comprised of local anti-tourist activists, members of Greenpeace Italy and the U.K. group "Everyone hates Elon" (Musk) — took to the streets to air their grievances, arguing that city authorities were prioritizing tourism over resident needs, per Reuters. The celebrity nuptials similarly caused an uproar on social media, with one user describing the wedding as the face of "oligarchy." "There is something wrong here. There can be no denying," O'Donnell concluded. "Something inside has died, and I can't hide. I just can't fake it." 5 Forgotten Celebrity Scandals That Still Haunt Us

In 2000, Angelina Jolie took home two Best Supporting Actress awards for her portrayal of Lisa Rowe in the 1999 film Girl, Interrupted. She then infamously kissed her brother on the lips. In January, after winning a Golden Globe for her performance, Angelina made headlines for locking lips with her brother James Haven. She continued the love at the 72nd Annual Academy Awards in March, where the two shared a passionate kiss on the red carpet as they wore matching black outfits. Later that night, she took home the Oscar."I'm in shock," Angelina said in her Oscar speech. "And I'm so in love with my brother right now. He just held me and said he loved me, and I know he's so happy for me, and thank you for that." After thanking her parents and others, Angelina went on to shower her brother with love. "Jamie, I have nothing without you. You are the bravest, strongest man I've ever known. Thank you. I love you so much.""Saying I'm 'in love' with him is just an expression," she told Vogue, two years after winning the Oscar. 'What I meant was, in this moment, with all this shit going on, all that matters to me is that guy sitting right there who has stood by me and is so fucking happy for me." "Matthew McConaughey was arrested in 1999 for getting really high and playing the bongos while naked at 3 a.m." — anonymous In 1999, Matthew was put in handcuffs for a loud music complaint and resisting arrest, after he was reportedly found naked in his home playing the bongos while smoking a bong. The incident happened after the University of Texas alum attended a Texas Longhorn football game. He was arrested in Austin, Texas, after police responded to a noise complaint — only to find him naked, playing the bongos (yes, seriously), and dancing around his home in the early hours of the morning. Officers reportedly found some marijuana at the scene, which added to the charges, but honestly, the most memorable part was the image of McConaughey, in full free-spirit mode, bongo-drumming in the buff. He later laughed it off, saying, 'What's wrong with beating on your drums in your birthday suit?' Classic.'What I didn't know was that while I was banging away in my bliss, two Austin policemen also thought it was time to barge into my house unannounced, wrestle me to the ground with nightsticks, handcuff me and pin me to the floor,' Matthew wrote in his memoir. Before Rocky made him a star, Sylvester Stallone's first movie role was actually the lead in an adult film called The Party at Kitty and Stud's. In 1970, a then-struggling Stallone starred in a low-budget softcore film called The Party at Kitty and Stud's. He was in his early twenties, broke, and sleeping in a bus station when he landed the role. For $200 for two days' work (and a roof over his head), he played 'Stud,' a very enthusiastic young man in a plot that included light bondage and a dinner Stallone hit it big, the film was re-released — very opportunistically — as Italian Stallion, a nickname that would follow him all the way to the boxing told Playboy in 1978, 'It was either do that movie or rob someone because I was at the end – at the very end – of my rope. Instead of doing something desperate, I worked two days for $200 and got myself out of the bus station.' A tale so outrageous it sounds made up, but it's 100% real (and very unfortunate for some unsuspecting tourists). In August 2004, a tour bus belonging to the Dave Matthews Band was crossing Chicago's Kinzie Street Bridge when the driver decided to empty the bus's septic tank — right into the Chicago River below. The very bad timing? A boat full of tourists was cruising under the bridge at that exact moment. Over 800 pounds of raw sewage came raining down. A literal band quickly apologized and insisted it was done without their knowledge. They even donated $100,000 to environmental causes and paid fines. But the damage was done — and the story lives in infamy as one of the nastiest (and oddly hilarious, depending on your humor) mishaps in music the next time you visit Chicago, maybe bring an umbrella if you decide to take the open-top boat tours. Yes, the same Nikola Tesla that Elon Musk named his electric car company after as a way to honor his contributions to electrical engineering. Serbian-American inventor, engineer, and futurist Nikola Tesla was widely known for being a brilliant and eccentric inventor, but somewhere along the line, he built up a reputation for falling in love with a his later years, Tesla became more reclusive and isolated, living mostly in hotel rooms and spending time feeding pigeons in a park in New York City. This one particular pigeon stole his heart. But not just any pigeon, a radiant white one with gray-tipped wings that he said would visit him daily through his hotel window, and they'd spend time together in quiet companionship. Tesla claimed he could communicate with her in a way that transcended words and that he loved her 'as a man loves a woman.' He even believed the pigeon loved him back. Tesla said that one night, the pigeon flew in to see him for the last time. Her eyes gleamed like powerful lamps, and he saw a light so bright he believed she was dying. When she passed, Tesla said he felt his life's work was finished, as if her death marked the end of something sacred. Is there a wild celebrity or Hollywood story that the world seemingly forgot about, but you think about often? Let me know in the comments!

"Mormon Wives" Drama: Season 2's Explosive Moments

Season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was possibly even messier than the first season — and that's saying something. Ahead of the upcoming Season 2 reunion special airing on Hulu on July 1, here's a breakdown of aaaaall of the drama that went down... Taylor vs Dakota: Taylor is the star of the show, no matter how much certain other cast members try to deny it (more on that later). Taylor created #MomTok, Taylor created the biggest drama out of it — the "swinging scandal" — and Taylor continues to be open about personal moments and low-points in a way that drives the central plot of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. In Season 2, Taylor confronts her on-again off-again boyfriend (and baby daddy) Dakota over allegations he cheated on her. Taylor even meets up with the other woman and does a forensic search through her phone to compare their message history and timelines. It's pretty iconic. Despite separating from Dakota, the two continue to hook up, which is just messy. Taylor's family mostly sides with Dakota and stages a horrifying semi-intervention at what's supposed to be a family barbecue, which includes Taylor's stepfather basically slut-shaming her while her brother and mom seriously pressure her to just take Dakota back, while Dakota and THEIR CHILD are also sitting at the table. Dakota ends up giving Taylor an ultimatum — either commit or stop hooking up altogether and just be platonic co-parents. Taylor seemingly decides to end things after that — but who knows if that will stick. Honestly, it was hard to watch. And people online agree. The entrance of Miranda (and Chase) The biggest scandal in #MomTok history was the "swinging scandal" – in which Taylor, during a TikTok livestream, revealed that she and her then husband and several other Momtok couples had engaged in "soft swinging". She is still experiencing the repercussions of this reveal, but Season 1 saw her mostly skirting around it because no one else involved in the scandal was on the show. Cue Season 2 and Taylor's former BFF and fellow "soft swinger" Miranda has decided she wants in on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives — and back in Momtok. There's tension between her and Taylor at first, and the group as a whole is resistant to letting her in. Her appearance allows Taylor to go more in detail about what went down with the swinging — and although Miranda at first insists she was involved in no more than "kissing", she eventually concedes that Taylor's laundry list of sexual activities is accurate. But ultimately, there's way less drama between the two of them then might have been expected and they somewhat reconcile. But that doesn't mean there's no drama. Especially since Miranda's appearance also comes with her ex, and another member of the "soft swingers," Chase. It's a brief appearance, but it's memorable. He comes along to Jessi's messy-as-hell Halloween party with his new girlfriend and gets chatting to Dakota, who at this stage is still hooking up with Taylor. Taylor can tell that the two are clearly talking about her — and sees that Dakota is eating up whatever Chase is saying — and she confronts both of them. They have a massive screaming match, which leads to Chase's new girlfriend crying, which leads to Demi telling Chase to sort out his own relationship, which leads to Chase seemingly giving Demi a tap on the hip as he walks past and asking where her husband is, which leads to Demi telling her husband that Chase "laid hands on her", which leads to Demi's husband Bret running after Chase while half-naked (more on that in a sec) and almost coming to blows with him. Which leads to the cops showing up, and Jessi, whose house they're all at, asking if the cops have watched The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives because that's the only way to explain what the hell is going on. It's a lot. Before Chase departs, he delivers his most memorable line: "don't make fun of my podcast". Oh Chase. We will. Jen vs Demi and Jessi Demi and Jessi were the instigators of a loooot of drama this season. Their biggest beef initially is with Jen. After supporting Jen last season when her marriage blew up after she attended a Chippendales show with the other girls (while her husband allegedly gambled away his college money), Jen arranges for the pair to meet up with her husband, Zac, to reconcile as part of Zac proving that he's changed and that he wants to work on their marriage. Unfortunately, the meeting backfires when Demi and Jessi and Zac compare notes and, for some reason, Demi and Jessi immediately believe everything Zac says and come away angry at Jen for supposedly lying to them — including, hilariously, about over whether Zac's family is actually related to Ben Affleck. Demi and Jessi basically mount an anti-Jen campaign in the group and also decide to play a prank on Jen and Zac at Jessi's Halloween party. They invite a Chippendales dancer to perform and rope their husbands into dancing with him, targeting Jen. This causes more tension in Jen and Zac's relationship, as well as between Jen and the other girls. Jen insinuates Demi was unfaithful to her husband when the Momtok ladies appeared on Vanderpump Villa, someone anonymously claims Bret actually cheated on Demi, and another person (who turns out to be Layla) slips an anonymous confession to the group that they think Jen is fake. Amidst all this — and as she's seemingly gearing up to leave Zac — Jen finds out she's pregnant. Isolated and struggling, Jen's mental health spirals to the point where she actually stops filming the show. Only Whitney apparently is aware of how unwell she is, and Demi and Jessi continue to make catty comments about her, which is pretty awful, tbh. Demi vs Taylor (and Jessi) With Jen recovering from depression and off screen, Demi turns her petty sights on Taylor. Demi came away from Season 1 convinced she's a fan favorite and deserves top billing as much (or even more than) Taylor. But she picked the wrong person to tangle with, and ends up losing her main ally, Jessi, in the Taylor brings up on screen, Demi actually said she'd be willing to kick Jessi — her best friend — off the show if it meant she'd get more money, which leads to some tense conversations. But things really escalate when Taylor makes a TikTok complaining about the other Momtokkers after none of them comment on her social media post about attending the Country Music Awards (wow what a sentence to type out). The other women are upset about the public pettiness, and Taylor sends an apology to their group chat, which Demi refuses to accept. She starts ranting about Taylor and basically tries to stage a coup, rallying to kick Taylor out of Momtok. What Demi is in denial about is that Momtok is kind of nothing without Taylor. The others know better and side with Taylor, especially when Taylor once again brings up a time Demi betrayed her bestie Jessi, when she apparently told Taylor she didn't think Jessi's hair business was very good. This is one blow too many for Jessi, and she distances herself from Demi. The other women also seem to be over Demi and her drama. Layla even shows Taylor a group chat where the other women were bitching about Taylor, which adds fuel to the Demi all culminates with Demi claiming she'll leave Momtok if Taylor doesn't — and everyone else is basically like "okay, bye." The return of Whitney Whitney was the villain in Season 1 and wound up leaving Momtok, but she wants back in for Season 2. Of course, the others won't let her back in easily. Especially Mikayla, who really hates Whitney now. The two of them have a couple of confrontations, and there's a Mormon bake-off which gets ultra competitive as they both make sourdough — there's even a whole thing about whose starter it is. It's kind of fun to have a lighter feud in the mix, but for the most part, Whitney is on her best behaviour. It's actually kind of harsh to see her be rejected by the group multiple times. In the end, they decide to let her back in, which is ultimately a win for us all. Pregnancy and personal struggles While all the incredibly petty (and entertaining) fights are happening, there's actually some serious and legit issues happening in the lives of the Momtokkers. In addition to Jen's mental health struggle, both Taylor and Mikayla are shown seeing therapists. Mikayla opens up about experiencing sexual abuse as a child, and there's a brief but impactful sequence about her healing journey. Meanwhile, Mayci and Demi are both having fertility issues, and for some reason Layla (probably at the behest of the producers) instigates a game of "pregnancy test roulette" which winds up being really cruel. It turns out Mayci has had a successful IVF round and is secretly pregnant, and her bestie, Mikayla, is also pregnant, so there are two positive pregnancy tests — one of which Demi pulls out, instinctively reacting with joy until she remembers it's not her own test. It's a brutal scene — Demi may have been the villain of the season, but no one deserves such an awful "game". Whew! So much went down in Season 2, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives reunion is sure to be juicy — make sure to catch it when it airs July 1 on Hulu.
