Love Island fans fume as Harry charms Helena's parents after heartache and is branded a ‘lovable villain'

LOVE Island viewers were left disappointed when Harry seemed to redeem himself in the eyes of Helena and her parents.
Fans of the ITV2 reality dating show watched in horror as Harry approached his recent ex's parents, Jasmine and Phil, who'd come to the Spanish villa for the Meet the Family segment.

Harry and Helena had split just days prior in an emotional breakup before recoupling with Shakira and Blu, respectively.
Helena's parents were full of praise for their daughter and how she'd handled Harry's controversial behaviour.
"From my end, it was so genuine and so real," Helena told her mum, Jasmine who replied, "Helena, you're a winner."
Her dad, Phil, managed to steal the show while in the villa saying Harry "wore his d*** on his sleeve," referring to the footballer's high rotation of women while appearing on Love Island.
But as Helena bonded with her parents, the Islanders watched on as Harry approached them for a chat.
"Ah the man himself," Phil said to Harry who responded, "I just wanted to come and say to you both in person - I apologise for a lot of my behaviour towards your daughter."
They chatted for a bit longer and Harry managed to win them over with his charm and was even dubbed a "lovable villain," by Blu's mum as they bid farewell.
Love Island viewers were left furious that Harry was able to charm so many of the parents, despite his behaviour.
"Helena's dad hasn't got a clue does he 'it is what it is,' are you having a laugh! If I had a daughter and Harry treated her like that I would be ripping Harry a new a***hole, Harry knows he can get away with anything, he will NEVER change," wrote one angry fan on X, formerly Twitter.
Another added: "Can't understand why Helena's mum would hug Harry and her dad shake his hand, weird."
'She's such a liar' rage Love Island fans as Meg makes bold claim to Shakira
And a third wrote: "If that was my dad and he met someone like Harry & he hurt me my dad wouldn't be complimenting the man or laughing with him and mum would be the same."
But it was not all friendly for Harry with some of the mums, including Shakira's mum, giving him a wide berth.
Shakira's sister Shanti and mum Sukina arrived to the villa, but the latter gave Harry a very icy reception.
'What I will say, with him, he can prove himself to you before he has to prove himself to me,' she told Shakira as he then approached them at the Firepit with his own mum and best mate, Harry.
As Harry walked over to the Firepit, Shakira's mum refused to stand up.

Love Island frontwoman Maya Jama reveals she 'prides herself' on not using cue cards and tells fan to 'shut up' after being criticised for 'unbiased' hosting style

Maya Jama won huge praise for her hosting skills during Monday night's Love Island final - with fans lauding the star on X. After the final, the star, who has fronted the show since 2022, took to the microblogging site to respond to the adoring viewers. The delighted fan penned: '[For real] @MayaJama eating this interview. No card in her hands too. #LoveIsland', to which she revealed a behind-the-scenes insight. Maya replied: 'Cutey! I pride myself on the no Que cards so thankyou for noticing'. Adding to her organic presenting style, the host also hit out at a fan who claimed she should be more unbiased, although she remained defiant in her stance - telling the follower to 'shut up' amid criticism of a tender moment. Among the tweets, Maya was praised for one of her interviews and the fact she did not use cue cards - something she was glad had been spotted She also told a fan to 'shut up' when she was accused of being unbiased Maya was at the helm of the operation on Monday as she hosted the live final, which saw Toni Laites and Cach Mercer storm to victory. The loved-up pair beat Shakira Khan, 22, and Harry Cooksley, 30, to the top spot, while Yasmin Pettet, 24, and Jamie Rhodes, 26, placed third, and Ty Isherwood, 23, and Angel Swift, 26, came fourth. A number of hilarious, dicey and awkward moments took place on the show, particularly during Maya's grillings of the stars. She was praised for her professionalism in the face of scandals. Delighting in praise from followers, Maya responded with a heart Emoji when a follower wrote: 'A real professional presenter grew up with you Maya we know you're a real one who had to grind her way to the top... 'Not one of these tiktok-influencer turned journalists you get these days.' A stand-out moment in Maya's interviews was when Toni's ex Harrison Solomon, 22, rolled his eyes when she made a comment about his behaviour during the show. In her candid style, Maya pointed out: 'You did say that you learnt a lot being in here...' to which Toni said: 'That's for damn sure'. An intrigued Maya continued: 'What has been the biggest lesson for you do you reckon?' Toni replied: 'Don't put up with sh**ty men.' The camera then went to Harrison sitting with partner Lauren Wood, 26, at a table in the audience. The footballer rolled his eyes a number of times shortly after she made the dig at him. The crowd cheered in support of her and then he mocked the cheers by joining in. He then rolled his eyes again when she revealed to the audience that Cach had dropped the L-Bomb. In 2023, Maya spoke about being the woman for the job as she told British Vogue: 'I've been a fan of the show pretty much since it started. I know everything about it... My role is to deliver information and facts but, because I love it so much, I just want to be their best mate and be like, 'Are you sure you really like that guy?'' 'I'll be as involved as I can.'

Meghan Markle's brand sends her gushing birthday message as pals share unseen photos

Meghan Markle has turned 44 but stayed silent on her Instagram account having not posted on there for over a month - however, her As Ever brand did send her a birthday message Meghan Markle's own lifestyle brand sent her a gushing birthday message as she celebrated turning 44. ‌ The Duchess of Sussex marked her birthday yesterday but has been completely silent on her own Instagram account for almost a month. But to mark her special day, her As Ever lifestyle brand shared a new image of Meghan smiling as he wears a dress and sun hat in the garden. ‌ The message to Meghan read: "Celebrating the woman behind it all. She pours her heart, vision and magic touch into every detail, and today, we raise a glass to her! Happy birthday to our founder." It comes after claims Prince Harry 'admits he is still part of the Royal Family and finally sees sense'. ‌ Meanwhile, As Ever wasn't the only Instagram account to share unseen photos of Meghan as many of her celebrity pals took to the platfrom to wish her a happy birthday. Among them was her Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, who featured on the Netflix show With Love, Meghan with her pal. Sharing a selection of snaps of them together, Abigail wrote: "As glorious as the day I met you. Champagne in human form. A creature unlike any other. Thank you for being a sister in this life, and beyond. Words can't capture. From the rooftops. So grateful for your life, @meghan. Thanks for saving mine. Love, Abs. ‌ And in a rare comment, Meghan replied: "Thank you, sweet Abs! Right back at you, and happy birthday to YOU!" Jamie Kern Lima, who invited Meghan on to her podcast also shared a snap of the pair with the message: "Happy Birthday @meghan Wonder had so much fun making this for you! Can't wait to see what we learn on Season 2 of your show! Thank you for being love, light and such a generous friend to everyone you meet!" ‌ Fellow pal Tracy Robbins posted a photo of her and Meghan enjoying cocktails with the message: "Happy birthday my dear @meghan Oh how I can laugh and dance with you like no other. You are sunshine in a bottle! Thank you for always making time to be such a loving and connected friend no matter what's going on in your life. You dance through this life with so much grace, light and love! I hope your wee posse of 3 are smothering you with hugs and kisses today my dear! Happiest of birthdays M!' While her make-up artist Daniel Martin, who also appeared in With Love, Meghan, wrote: "HBD sis!" alongside a snap of Meghan with her dog Mia. It is not known exactly how Meghan marked her birthday but it is likely that any celebrations would have included her husband Prince Harry as well as their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. At the weekend she joined Harry at the beach near their home as they watched six-year-old Archie take part in a surfing lesson. ‌ The past 12 months have marked many major changes for Meghan, especially since the dawn of 2025, with the launch of her new Instagram account, lifestyle brand as well as her Netflix cookery show. However, one thing has remained - Meghan and Prince Harry's long-running rift with the Royal Family following their dramatic departure from the Firm. It comes as news that Harry will 'never be forgiven' by two major royals despite reconciliation hope. ‌ And for royal expert Jennie Bond, while Harry will be keen to make his wife's special day as memorable as it can be, she believes the same can't be said for the rest of the Royal Family. The former BBC royal correspondent told the Mirror: "I definitely thought that being 44 was a bit of a nondescript birthday, not particularly worthy of a special celebration. But I'm sure that Harry will want to make a fuss of his wife on her special day. ‌ "As far as I can see, he is still head over heels in love with Meghan and will probably organise a romantic dinner or perhaps a beach party with friends and lots of children to celebrate their happy family life in California. Maybe a sunrise yoga session would set the day up rather nicely! "I don't think Meghan should hold her breath for birthday messages from the Royal family, though it may well be that Princess Eugenie- and possibly Beatrice - will send a present or a card." Meghan's small hiatus from social media comes despite her lifestyle brand As Ever continues to post on the platform, with announcement last week she will be selling another batch of her rose wine. And Jennie added: "I think Meghan deserves to be pretty happy with how this year has gone so far. Whatever she does or says gets slammed in the media, but she has built up a substantial social media following in very little time, the products that she endorses or sells seem to do exceptionally well, and her TV and podcast shows — although clearly not ground breaking – – are perfectly watchable, however much her critics like to pan them."

"But I don't feel like I can really talk, so I just write everything down in my notes." One of Katie's rockiest relationships was with ex-husband and former stripper, Kieran Hayler. With tears in his eyes as he reads one of the messages, Pete tells the teen she's still his "baby" as he pleads with her to make her social media private. Responding, Princess says she has to keep her profile public because it's her job and how she makes money. Conceding she knows where he dad is "coming from", she states: "If no-one reads my posts, it's not going to work."
