Cherries development squad beat Bees 8-1 after 13-minute onslaught

Yahoo25-03-2025
THE Cherries development squad produced a breathtaking second-half display to dismantle Brentford U21s 8-1, with Daniel Adu-Adjei netting a hat-trick and assisting twice in a 13-minute onslaught that left the visitors stunned.
Brentford started the stronger of the two sides and took the lead in the 14th minute through Ben Krauhaus, who calmly slotted past the goalkeeper to give the Bees an early advantage.
Bournemouth came close to levelling before the break, with Adu-Adjei playing in Silcott-Duberry, but a sharp save from the Brentford keeper preserved the visitors' 1-0 lead at half-time.
The second half told a very different story.
Just eight minutes after the restart, Bournemouth found their equaliser as Winterburn rifled a shot from the edge of the box into the net to make it 1-1. That goal sparked the Cherries into life, and from that moment, they never looked back.
In the 57th minute, Koby Mottoh's cross found Adu-Adjei, who coolly tucked the ball into the bottom corner to put Bournemouth ahead. Moments later, Adu-Adjei rattled the crossbar, but Dominic Sadi was alert to guide in the rebound, extending the lead to 3-1.
Adu-Adjei then doubled his tally with another composed finish, before turning provider again, this time squaring for substitute Kian Tydeman to slot home Bournemouth's fifth.
The relentless forward completed his hat-trick in the 66th minute, finishing a precise pass from Remy Rees-Dottin to make it 6-1 and cap off a remarkable run of six goals in just 13 minutes.
The attack didn't stop there. Tydeman turned provider, setting up fellow substitute Jonny Day for Bournemouth's seventh, before converting from the penalty spot after Ashley Clark was brought down in the box to round off an incredible 8-1 victory.
It was a sensational performance from Bournemouth's youngsters, and particularly from Adu-Adjei, who finished with three goals and two assists in a display of ruthless attacking football.

Sevilla star turns down €30m Premier League move

Sevilla are once again enduring a long, hot summer, with very little to get excited about. As has been the case for the last two summers, Los Nervionenses are in need of departures before they bring players in, allowing them to clear space in their salary limit. Negotiations for an exit for Juanlu Sanchez have been ongoing for weeks, while Dodi Lukebakio is also yet to bring in an offer that has satisfied the club. The other major sale they could pull off is for central defender Loic Bade. The French defender has four more years on his contract, and at 25, is the right age to come into his prime, having already impressed at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in his 2.5 years there. Bade rejects Premier League move As reported by Diario AS, Bournemouth have made an offer of €30m for Bade including variables, which Sevilla were willing to accept. However thus far, the Cherries have been unable to persuade Bade to give the green light for a deal. Photo by ABC / EFE Bournemouth join two others It is not the first time that Bade has turned down a move since arriving at Sevilla for €12m in 2023. AS Roma had an interest in him, while both Stuttgart and Aston Villa could not get the go-ahead from Bade. It seems that he is keen to pick his next move carefully, having had a bad experience at Nottingham Forest in 2022, and could well hold out for a move to a title contender, wherever it may be in Europe. Sevilla's transfer window so far So far the only exit from Sevilla has been Suso, whose contract expired. Right-back Gabriel Suazo and forward Alfon Gonzalez have both signed as free agents, the former likely as a replacement for Juanlu. New Sevilla Sporting Director Antonio Cordon will already be feeling the pressure early on in his reign.

Botafogo agree deal to sign Bournemouth keeper Neto

Botafogo have reached an agreement with Bournemouth to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Neto, according to The Athletic. The Brazilian top-flight club are seventh in the standings and are keen to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season. There will be no transfer fee involved in the deal, but Bournemouth will benefit financially. Neto was one of the highest earners at the club, and his exit will help cut wage costs significantly. His contract was due to expire in June 2026, but both parties have agreed to part ways earlier. Botafogo will offer Neto a deal that runs until 2027. The contract also includes an option to extend by an additional six months. Bournemouth move on from Neto Bournemouth recently signed Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea, a move that reduced Neto's chances of playing regular football next season. Before arriving at Bournemouth, the former Brazilian international played in Italy and Spain. Neto joined Bournemouth in 2022 after a brief stint at Barcelona. He made 63 appearances in all competitions for the Cherries. During that period, he kept 13 clean sheets and established himself as a reliable figure in goal. However, he spent last season on loan at Arsenal and has now been deemed surplus to requirements by Bournemouth. Neto is now set for a new chapter in Brazil as Botafogo continue their push for a strong finish in the league.
