Actor Sanvikaa, who plays Rinki in Panchayat, exclusively told News18 Showsha that Season 5 is in the works. She also spoke about the makers' strategy to opt for a Tuesday release.
Pooja Singh, popularly known by her stage name Sanvikaa, plays Rinki, the daughter of Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav's characters, in the critically acclaimed Prime Video series, Panchayat. The show, known for its niche but devoted audience, was released ahead of schedule on June 24. Sanvikaa spoke exclusively to News18 Showsha about Panchayat Season 5 and the overwhelming response of the recently-released season.
In a candid chat with us, Panchayat actor Sanvikaa, also known as Rinki, confirmed that Panchayat Season 5 is officially in the works. While fans have been eagerly waiting for updates following the release of Season 4, Sanvikaa assured that the next installment is very much on the cards.
'Yes, yes, yes, definitely. It is happening," Sanvikaa said, addressing the much-asked question. 'The writing is still in the process, and hopefully we should go on floors maybe by the end of November or the start of next year."
However, she kept details about the plot tightly under wraps. Teasing fans about the unresolved storyline, especially between her character Rinki and Jitendra Kumar's Sachiv ji, she said, 'That's why we left the season at that point, so we can take it up in the next season. But what is happening with Sachiv ji's and Rinki's life? We have no idea!" She added that only the writers and the director know what's coming next, and fans should let them know they want to see more of the pair together.
Speaking about the reception of Panchayat 4, which released earlier this week, Sanvikaa shared that fan messages began pouring in even before the season dropped. 'People used to rewatch previous seasons and message me. Even now, after the release, I've been flooded with love from fans who are saying how much they loved the new season," she said.
Sanvikaa noted that the true response of Panchayat 4 might be more evident over the weekend, as viewers get a chance to binge-watch with their families. 'It released on a Tuesday, so we'll probably know the actual response once the weekend hits," she said.
Interestingly, Panchayat 4 dropped on a Tuesday, which is uncommon for major OTT shows that usually go live closer to the weekend. When asked if there was a strategy behind the unusual midweek release, Sanvikaa told us, 'Honestly, I have no idea. That's something handled by the marketing team at Amazon Prime. It depends on their upcoming slate and internal strategies."
As fans continue to celebrate Panchayat 4, with the promise of a Season 5, and possible developments to Rinki and Sachiv ji's storyline, fans surely have already started the countdown for the upcoming season.

Samantha took to her Instagram stories on Saturday to post a video of her doing pullups during her workout. Sharing it, she challenged people to do at least three pullups before criticising her, her body or her health. She wrote, 'Here's the deal. You don't get to call me skinny, sickly or any of that crap unless you can do 3 of these first. If you can't… Then read between the frikkin lines…' Samantha Ruth Prabhu challenged naysayers to perform pullups. This is not the first time Samantha has had to respond to comments on her weight or looks. In November last year, the actor-entrepreneur responded to a social media post asking her to gain weight and 'bulk up'. She wrote, 'If you guys must know, I am on a strict anti-inflammatory diet which is required for my condition, which prevents me from putting on weight, keeps in a certain weight bracket and keeps me in a sweet spot with my condition (myositis).' She ended the note by asking people to stop judging and reminding them it's 2024. Recent work Samantha took a break from filming due to a flare-up of her myositis. In 2021, she divorced from Naga Chaitanya and was public about her disorder in 2022. Films she had shot for by then – Shaakunthalam Yashoda – were released in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, she starred in Shiva Nirvana's romantic drama Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda. She also acted in Raj & DK's Prime Video web series, Citadel: Honey Bunny. Samantha recently turned producer with Subham. She will soon star in Maa Inti Bangaram, which she's also producing and Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom for Netflix.
