Mamitha was recently asked about Vijay's future retirement plans at the Kerala Carnival in Ireland, and she said in Malayalam, 'One day, when we were shooting together, I casually asked him whether Jana Nayagan is truly his last movie. Vijay sir candidly responded that it will depend on how the elections go. He said, we'll see what happens.'
Mamitha also said at the event, 'In the last days of shooting, I got very emotional along with everyone else, and on the final day, he got emotional too.' The film received mixed reviews, and the director recently revealed a surprising detail about his initial casting choices. During an interview with iDream, Phanindra shared that he had initially envisioned '8 Vasantalu' with two of Indian cinema's biggest stars, Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone and Tamil star Suriya , in the lead roles. "I wanted to make the movie '8 Vasanthalu' with adults," he shared. "I wrote it keeping Suriya and Deepika Padukone in mind. That's why the dialogues are so strong."
