Eight-car crash reported on I-635, two hurt, Kansas Highway Patrol says
Two people were reported to have minor injuries.

The crash was reported before 12:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-635, north of Kansas Avenue near Kansas City, Kansas.
According to a crash log from the highway patrol, a 24-year-old man in a GMC Sierra was traveling north on I-635 when he lost control and struck an Acura sedan driven by a 20-year-old man. The Acura spun out and caused one car after another to hit each other.
In total, eight vehicles were involved in the crash, according to the highway patrol.
The driver of the GMC Sierra was not injured.
The driver of the Acura and a 28-year-old driver in a Volkswagen Jetta were taken to a hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries, the highway patrol said.

Additional victims sought of Long Beach high school coach arrested for sexual assault
Investigators are seeking additional victims of a high school coach and substitute staff member at a Long Beach high school who was arrested for sexually assaulting a teenage girl last week. Gabriel Vigil, 34, was arrested a little before 8:30 a.m. on Thursday at his residence near Pacific Avenue and the Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Long Beach Police Department. They say that Vigil was under investigation since July 1, when a staff member at Cabrillo High School reported suspicion that a teenager was sexually assaulted off campus by a substitute staffer who was also working as a coach. Vigil was booked on one count of statutory rape, one count of arranging to meet with a minor for lewd purposes and one count of contacting a minor to commit a felony, police said. Multiple homes damaged after teen loses control of car and crashes in Huntington Beach
Multiple homes were damaged when a teenager lost control of a car and crashed in Huntington Beach on Friday night. Police said that it happened at around 10:40 p.m. in the 19100 block of Newland Street, according to a release from the Huntington Beach Police Department. "Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears that the vehicle was traveling south on Newland Street at a hight rate of speed when the driver lost control," police said. They do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash. The driver, a 17-year-old boy who does not have a license, and his 18-year-old male passenger were both hospitalized after complaining of pain, police noted. The driver was cited for driving without a license and reckless driving and released to a guardian. Huntington Beach city officials were called to check the structural integrity of the homes.
