Goldilocks and the Three Trucks! Actor Glen Powell and Ram Brand Put New Spin on Classic Fairy Tale in Big Game Commercial
Stellantis is the only automaker with Big Game commercials
Ram returns to the Big Game, reveals the 60-second film starring actor Glen Powell
Sixty-second film directed by David Leitch ('Deadpool 2,' 'John Wick,' 'Bullet Train')
With Ram trucks, a fire-breathing dragon, flame-spewing volcanoes and, yes, bears and a spoonful of porridge, Powell puts a humorous and rugged twist on the classic children's bedtime story, 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'
Out with the porridge, and in with the trucks, the campaign features the 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, the new heavy-duty Ram 2500 Rebel and the Ram 1500 RHO
The one-minute film, 'Drive Your Own Story,' shines a spotlight on freedom, power of choice for truck buyers, from gas-powered to battery-powered to heavy-duty options
Glen Powell is no stranger to the Ram brand; he helped kick off the new generation of Ram trucks in 'The Calling' advertising campaign in April 2024, and Universal Films and Ram's co-branded advertising campaign for last summer's blockbuster film 'Twisters'
As part of the campaign, Ram to offer consumers branded merchandise that pays homage to the Super Bowl commercial at RamTrucks.com, including stuffed dragons and bears, T-shirts, hoodies, blankets and a dragon-wing hot sauce
An extended 90-second version of the film can be viewed on Ram brand's YouTube channel
The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger will be available for orders in the second quarter of this year
The spot is soundtracked to Van Halen's classic 'Panama'
Ram brand revealed its Big Game commercial today, featuring actor Glen Powell ('Twisters,' 'Hit Man,' 'Top Gun: Maverick') in a truck-twisted version of the children's fairy tale, 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears.' In 'Uncle Glen's' version of the classic story, he tells a high-octane adaptation to his real-life twin niece and nephew that includes Ram trucks, a fire-breathing dragon, jumping across active volcanoes and, in the end, does include actual (CGI) bears! The 60-second commercial, " Drive Your Own Story,' can be viewed now across the Ram brand's social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Stellantis is the only automaker with commercials in the Big Game this year, with both Ram and Jeep® brands making appearances.
'The wealth of Stellantis is the ability of our wide array of iconic brands to address any customer needs in their different life stages,' said Olivier Francois. 'So much so, we are a bit like Goldilocks. Our commercial acts as a metaphor through a classic fable that is deeply rooted in American culture, with our Ram trucks partner Glen Powell serving as our Goldilocks trying out our Ram 1500, Ram 2500 heavy duty and the new Ramcharger 1500. With options that include fully electric, hybrid or gas, we've set the table for our customers to choose what is 'just right' for them.
'Our participation as the only automaker in the biggest American television event makes perfect sense for us. 2025 will see our brand portfolios grow and stand out against the competition.'
'I spent most of the 'Twisters' shoot in a Ram truck and it just felt right,' says Powell. 'Being part of this Super Bowl spot feels like a natural continuation of my connection to a brand that has already brought me so much joy behind the wheel. And to top it all off, one of my favorite filmmakers, the legendary David Leitch, brought his signature style to create something truly fun and action-packed. As if that wasn't enough, I had the chance to play Uncle Glen alongside my real-life niece and nephew, Gwen and Witt, a role that hit close to home in the best way. In my family, the Super Bowl is more than just football, it's about coming together and, yes, judging the commercials. Having my family in my first Super Bowl ad felt like the perfect way to bring everything full circle.'
'Hauling a barbequed dragon and jumping volcanoes definitely falls out of the common duty cycle for a Ram pickup, but that doesn't make it impossible,' said Tim Kuniskis, Ram Brand CEO. 'The choice between the all-new 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, a combination of electric and ICE that will open up for orders soon, the Ram 2500 Rebel heavy duty and the Ram 1500 RHO may not come easy, but we always want to offer our truck-buyers options. Whether it's gasoline powered or electric powered, or perhaps a combination of both, Ram truck buyers, like Glen, are given the power of choice, allowing them to be the hero of their own story.'
'We wanted to take a classic tale and give it a bold, unexpected twist—just like the Ram brand does with every truck it builds,' said Director David Leitch. 'Glen Powell brings the perfect mix of charm, toughness and humor to our modern-day Goldilocks story, proving that the right truck isn't too big or too small—it's just right. This spot is all about adventure, capability and finding the perfect fit, with a little cinematic magic thrown in for good measure.'
Instead of Mama Bear, Papa Bear and Baby Bear with porridge options, the Ram version of the children's bedtime story (soundtracked to Van Halen's classic 'Panama') features Powell having the power to choose from, one, the 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, two, the new heavy-duty Ram 2500 Rebel and, three, the new Ram 1500 RHO to take on his own adventures. Depending on his needs, he picks the one best suited for his story.
With the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, Powell flexes his artistic muscles and shows off his chainsaw carving skills, then he goes into full superhero mode to slay a fire-breathing dragon, which he then proceeds to eat after towing it behind him in a dragon-size smoker with the heavy-duty Ram 2500 Rebel, and he jumps volcanoes in the Ram 1500 RHO. He is ultimately snapped back to reality as 'Uncle Glen' during his reading of the bedtime story by his twin niece and nephew (the children of Powell's real-life sister).
The one-minute film was directed by blockbuster filmmaker David Leitch (Minted Content), known for global action hits, such as 'Deadpool 2,' 'John Wick,' and 'Bullet Train.' An extended 90-second version of the film can be seen on the Ram brand's YouTube channel.
Ram is also offering branded merchandise tied to the Big Game commercial to consumers, including plush/stuffed dragons and bears, T-shirts, hoodies, blankets and even a dragon-wing hot sauce, all of which are available beginning February 6 at RamTrucks.com.
The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger will be available for orders in the second quarter of this year.
' Drive Your Own Story" was created by the Ram brand, in partnership with GSD&M and produced by Minted Content.
Powell's connection to the Ram brand goes beyond his debut in Ram brand campaigns, 'The Calling' and 'The Convoy," but extended onto the silver screen as his character was seen navigating treacherous storms and relying on Ram trucks in last summer's Universal Films and the Ram brand co-branded " Twisters" advertising campaign.

Chinese automakers gain ground in contracting European market, data shows
By Amir Orusov (Reuters) -Car registrations across Europe declined in June, with a 4.4% year-on-year drop to 1.25 million vehicles, data from Jato Dynamics showed on Wednesday. While overall demand softened, Chinese automakers continued to gain ground, taking a record market share and squeezing several established European brands, the research data showed. WHY IT'S IMPORTANT Chinese automakers are expanding in Europe, breaking into a market traditionally dominated by European and American brands supported by their cheaper pricing amid a shift towards electric vehicles. This has stoked trade tensions between Brussels and Beijing, including a row over EU tariffs on Chinese-made EVs, imposed to protect European producers. BY THE NUMBERS Chinese brands nearly doubled their combined share of the European market to 5.1% in the first half of 2025, just shy of Mercedes-Benz's 5.2%, the report said. Registrations of Chinese vehicles surged 91% since the start of the year. BYD, Jaecoo, Omoda, Leapmotor and Xpeng were the five names fuelling the surge, with BYD alone registering 70,500 units in the first six months of 2025, a 311% jump from a year ago. Stellantis saw the steepest market share decline among major automakers, to 15.3% from 16.7% a year earlier. The second biggest decline came from Tesla, to 1.6% in the half-year period versus 2.4% last year. Registrations of battery electric vehicles (BEV) surpassed one million for the first time in the first half, with a 25% rise to 1.19 million units — 17.4% of the market. KEY QUOTES "Persistently high prices, geopolitical and economic tensions with Europe's trading partners, and the postpandemic market reality are behind the decline," Felipe Munoz, global analyst at JATO Dynamics, said. "The updated Tesla Model Y has so far failed to provide the expected sales boost for the brand," Munoz said. "At the same time, competition from BYD and Volkswagen Group is making it harder for Tesla to maintain its leadership position."

Automakers say tariffs are costing them billions and warn of steeper losses ahead
Two automakers with manufacturing operations in Canada, General Motors Co. and Stellantis NV, reported this week that tariffs are taking billions of dollars out of their profits. On Tuesday, GM said tariffs had a net impact of about $1.5 billion on its second-quarter earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT). One day earlier, Stellantis, which produces Fiat and Chrysler vehicles, reported that tariffs exacted a hit of about $477 million through the first half of the year, but warned of steeper losses ahead. Since the tariffs took effect earlier this year, automakers in North America have been warning that tariffs will add costs and make them less competitive at a time when they are navigating a complex transition to electric vehicles. One end result may be less vehicle production in Canada. 'These earnings reports from automakers underline the reasons why we urgently need to get to a deal (with the U.S.) that removes tariffs,' said Brian Kingston, president of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers' Association (CVMA), a trade industry lobby group that represents both GM and Stellantis. Beginning in March, when the U.S. briefly imposed blanket 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods, and then resuming in April, when the U.S. imposed a 25 per cent tariff specifically on all vehicle imports, auto exports to the U.S. have faced a 25 per cent tariff. The U.S. ultimately adjusted its policy such that vehicles compliant with the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) could mitigate the tariff rate based on the percentage of U.S.-built parts contained in a vehicle. At the same time, in April, Canada applied its own 25 per cent counter-tariffs to U.S.-built vehicles. Taken together, the policies are forcing North America's automakers to overhaul their operations so that more vehicles are built in the market where they are sold. That is proving to be an expensive proposition for an industry that spent the past two decades operating under free trade agreements that incentivized global supply chains, under which vehicles cross borders multiple times before being delivered to their end markets. Prime Minister Mark Carney has said he is aiming for a comprehensive trade deal by early August, but also has said there is likely to be some baseline level of tariffs on exports to the U.S. Overall, the uncertainty is already having an impact on Canada's auto sector. GM, for example, has said it plans this fall to cut the third shift at its Oshawa, Ont., plant — expected to cause about 700 layoffs — where it makes light duty and heavy duty Chevy Silverado pickup trucks. At the same time, it has added a shift in Indiana where it also makes the trucks. In addition to the impacts of layoffs on Canadian workers, the move could have another effect: Canada created a 'duty remission' scheme that allowed automakers to import vehicles from the U.S. duty free, based on the number of vehicles produced here. The shift change could reduce GM's production in Canada by one-third. Jennifer Wright, a GM spokesperson, said the federal government is well aware of the impending shift reduction, but could not say how it would affect its duty remission allowance, not least because Carney is hoping to reach a trade agreement before that. The situation shows how automakers are seeking to reconfigure cross-border operations to mitigate their tariff exposure. Wright noted that in 2024, GM sold 294,000 vehicles in Canada, which were produced in South Korea, Mexico, the U.S., and Canada. Now, tariffs create incentives to disentangle global supply chains. 'The auto sector has been designed in the last few years to be a very integrated market,' said Wright. GM said on its earnings call on Thursday that it expects tariffs to take US$4 billion to US$5 billion out of its earnings for 2025. So far, the company has posted strong sales in Canada in 2025, showing an eight per cent year-over-year increase in the second quarter. But Wright also said sales surged before tariffs took effect and she expects to see a softening as the year progresses. Meanwhile, Stellantis earlier this year indefinitely paused a multibillion dollar overhaul of its assembly plant in Brampton, Ont., which was being retooled so it could produce battery-electric, hybrid or internal combustion engine Jeeps, depending on market demand. At its Windsor, Ont., plant, the company continues to produce hybrid and internal combustion engine Chrysler Pacifica minivans, and battery-electric Dodge Chargers, but it has temporarily paused operations twice this year since tariffs were announced. Earlier this year, the company estimated that tariffs could cost it more than $2 billion. But the company is also battling sluggish sales, and shipments within North America fell 25 per cent in the first quarter of the year. GM to cut shifts at Oshawa Assembly Plant in move union calls 'reckless' How Trump's tariffs are already hobbling Canada's auto sector Kingston, of the CVMA, said that overall he expects vehicle sales in all of North America to drop by roughly 10 per cent in 2025. Although Carney has set an Aug. 1 deadline for a trade deal, Kingston called it an 'optimistic scenario.' Nonetheless, he said it is vital to the health of his industry to resolve the trade war quickly. 'The U.S. trade policy is doing significant damage to American automakers,' Kingston said. 'We need a resolution and we need it quickly.' • Email: gfriedman@ Error in retrieving data Sign in to access your portfolio Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data

Eastern Accents, known for their American-made quality, has been a leader in soft home furnishings for over 30 years, consistently setting trends in the luxury bedding market. For a bright, summery collection, they've partnered with renowned interior designer Barclay Butera. Drawing inspiration from the elegance and breathtaking colors of Barclay Butera's native Newport Beach, California, this collection captures coastal beauty and brings it effortlessly into the home environment. Eastern Accents and Barclay Butera's Corona del Mar bedding collection is a testament to coastal living at its finest. We met with these expert designers to get an inside look at this collection and how it came together to celebrate design, texture, and California living. Behind the Design: Barclay Butera Nestled along the stunning shores of Newport Beach lies the inspiration behind this coastal bedding collection: Corona Del Mar. The heart of this collection is the beautiful shades of blue, green, and white as well as the luxurious fabrics in the mohair and embroidered cottons that reflect the laid-back yet sophisticated spirit of the seaside. Drawing inspiration from his coastal upbringing in California, Barclay Butera infuses his designs with a sense of elegance and relaxed luxury. Butera, now a renowned interior designer, launched his firm in 1994 after growing up, inspired by his mother's work as a designer. This collection isn't the first time Butera has partnered with Eastern Accents; the two have been working together on numerous projects over the last decade, always with a shared passion for timeless, high-quality design. From chic beachfront retreats to opulent urban residences, Butera's portfolio showcases his unwavering commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. He brings his unique aesthetic - inspired by blue and white antiques, old Hollywood chic, and serene shorelines - to any of his luxury bedding pieces. This collection, Corona del Mar, was no different. Butera has been influenced by California's beautiful nature across his various looks. 'California living is all about indoor-outdoor flow, relaxed luxury, and effortless elegance,' he explains. 'The natural landscapes, from the beaches to the desert, inspire my use of color, texture, and light.' The goal for Corona del Mar, the team explains, was to create a palette that echoes the serene hues of the seaside, pulling beautiful and timeless blues, greens, and whites from the sea. With this vision, every piece tells a coastal story that's both contemporary and deeply connected to tradition. With luxurious fabrics, soothing coastal hues, and seaside elegance, Corona Del Mar offers luxurious coastal allure that evokes the essence of a breezy summer retreat. The Collection: Corona del Mar With attention to detail in mind, Corona Del Mar features a harmonious blend of luxurious fabrics, each chosen to ensure both comfort and style to this coastal bedding collection. One of the signature fabrics featured in this collection is Eastern Accents' Bach. In emerald, this fabric is a rich green mohair used on throw pillows. The team explains that the mohair was chosen to bring an opulent shine and smooth finish to the collection. Emulating soft nature, tranquility, and sea grass, it blends with this cool collection seamlessly. Contrasting the mohair is a breathable 200 thread count percale sheet set using Egyptian cotton. Cool and crisp, it brings in a fresh coastal breeze to the bedding. Percale, the team reveals, is known for its breathable, light quality. It's an ideal sheeting for warmer climates and sleepers, as well as being durably strong. In line with this beachy bedding, this makes it an ideal choice for summer beds, vacation homes, or anyone who prefers a cooler sleep. The star of this collection is the azure bed scarf and throw pillows which feature an embroidered geometric pattern. The team explains that this Esha Azure fabric is embroidered in India with a handcrafted look to it. Using embroidered fabrics infuses the bedding with intricate patterns and textures, transforming simple fabrics into works of art. It makes for a unique and detailed statement piece that sets this collection apart. The embroidered details tie in the rest of the coastal colors and add an organic texture to the whole set. Along with Corona Del Mar's green mohair throw pillow, other throw pillows include a deep blue and white brush fringe detail adding a soft and deep detail to the side edges. The designers explain that adding trim and embroidered fabrics to their bedding collections and throw pillows adds extra depth and luxurious texture. The tassel fringe and brush fringe add to the global style with their color story and texture. Perfect for summer nights and coastal homes, this California-inspired bedding collection was tailor made for this season. Barclay Butera's coastal motifs paired with Eastern Accents signature fabrics make this summer specialty come to life.
