Vernon Kay has admitted that he made one of his family members cry when his exam results came through.
The 51-year-old reflected on the "dreaded" moment to his BBC Radio 2 audience, as he realised that exam results are set to be released in just a few weeks.
Vernon, who shares two children with his wife Tess Daly, including their youngest daughter Amber, who is awaiting her own exam results this summer, remembered what happened when his came through the door, and how he upset his mum.
He said: 'We're only a few weeks away from the dreaded school exam results. I made Gladys cry. What have you been doing for two years?' 'I'm really good at football'. That was when I got me A-Level results.'
Before explaining how he had disappointed his mother, Vernon told his audience earlier this year that his daughter Amber, 16, had been working hard on her GCSEs.
Speaking in May he said: 'Got GCSEs on the horizon…well, they're here. We've started ours, we're up and running.
'Of course, it's stressful. I remember my GCSEs…well, I don't…I'm lying, it was so long ago - 1990 I did mine. I remember sitting there thinking, 'Gosh, I wish I'd revised'. I'm not remembering anymore, it's making me depressed.'

This, in turn, led Vernon to ruminate on his genuine thoughts about the place of exams in educating the country's young people. He said: 'It's not the way education should be for me, more practical, playing out, hide and seek, I'd have got A+ in that.
'It's torturous for some kids, isn't it? If you've got who are going through GCSEs, just put your arm around them. There's nothing else they can do.
'There's no point cramming. You can cram all you want in your revision, which we all did, let's be honest, but you've just got to hold their hand haven't you? Guide them along, make sure they're alright between their ears, in their noggin.'
Alongside reflecting on his time as a student, Vernon has also been speaking about a band that came along just a few years after he did his GCSEs, Oasis, and their reunion gig's impact on him.
Speaking to the Mirror the day after their comeback in Wales, he said he hoped the performances would lift the UK during a tricky time for the country.
Vernon explained: 'Oasis was epic. We expected greatness, and we got fantastic.
'It was a gig of a lifetime, especially I think for all those people who have just got into Oasis. There were a lot of young people there. It was just a great gig, hit after hit after hit. The atmosphere was really positive.
'And I've been saying on the radio that if the weather is great, this Oasis tour is really going to elevate the mood of the nation and the majority, I think all of the reviews have been fantastic, and rightly so. Oasis are back and long may continue.'

FLOOD DISASTER Heartbreaking photo of dead & missing girls in Texas floods emerges as death toll reaches 104 – & MORE floods are feared Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A DEVASTATING photo showing the smiling faces of the Camp Mystic girls has become the symbol of the Texas floods as the death toll climbs to 104. The entire group from the Bubble Inn cabin — 13 girls and two counselors — were swept away when a wall of water slammed through the summer camp. Among the lost are some of the camp's youngest attendees, aged just eight and ten. The Bubble Inn cabin sat just 500 feet from the Guadalupe River, where the floodwaters hit hardest over the July Fourth weekend. So far, 10 girls and 18-year-old counselor Chloe Childress have been found dead. The camp's director, Richard 'Dick' Eastland, died trying to save the children. Katherine Ferruzzo, another counselor, and campers Molly DeWitt, Ellen Getten, and Abby Pohl remain missing. Among the victims were eight-year-olds Renee Smajstrla and Sarah Marsh, nine-year-olds Eloise Peck and Lila Bonner, and 13- and 11-year-old sisters Blair and Brooke Harber, whose bodies were found 'with their hands locked together' 15 miles downstream. 'We are beyond devastated and so heartbroken,' their aunt, Jennifer Harber, said. A desperate search is still underway in Texas as rescuers scour the wreckage for the dozens still missing. The Guadalupe River, swollen by torrential rains, burst its banks early Friday, sweeping through camps, homes, and entire communities across Central Texas. At least 28 children are among the dead, and 41 people remain unaccounted for, with frantic families clinging to hope. As rescuers enter their fifth day of searches, brave crews refuse to give up hope that survivors are waiting to be saved. What we know so far... Torrential rain sparked deadly flash flooding around the Guadalupe River At least 104 people lost their lives, mostly in Kerr County, and rescue teams continue to search for survivors Families of some Camp Mystic girls have confirmed their deaths A woman was rescued after being washed 20 miles downstream Two brothers told of their brave escape from a flooded cabin The victims include the niece of the Kansas City Chiefs' owners, a dad who died while saving his wife and kids, and a beloved high school coach "We will never presume they're dead," Jake Stovall, the founder of Gulf Search and Rescue, told CNN and vowed to keep working the scene for up to 15 days. It comes as five million people across Central Texas remain under flood watch as more floods are feared. Governor Greg Abbott said more flooding is likely, though not expected to match the devastation seen in Kerrville. President Trump is set to visit Texas on Friday, though his administration has come under fire amid claims that National Weather Service staffing cuts may have delayed warnings. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is demanding an investigation into whether vacancies and outdated systems contributed to the scale of the tragedy. Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, called the accusations 'a depraved lie,' insisting the NWS 'did its job' and the floods were 'an act of God.' Authorities recovered his body after reports came in that a walker had fallen on June 30. A coastguard helicopter was also used to retrieve the body, alongside a drone team from Buxton and Glossop Mountain Rescue. A huge team of 31 workers were part of the recovery effort, including Kinder Mountain Rescue and the Derbyshire police. It took ten hours for the man's body to be collected by the helicopter, using a stretcher to hoist the body from the base of the Downfall. The mountain rescue team released a statement following the incident. The statement read: "When the helicopter arrived, conditions proved to be too challenging to winch directly from the base of the Downfall. "So the team performed a difficult stretcher carry to a lower location where he could be collected by the helicopter and flown to our vehicles. "This was a challenging ten hour incident for all involved. We would like to thank the group of walkers who called in the incident for their assistance. "The team would like to pass on our sincere condolences to the walker's family." The Peak District is one of the most popular natural attractions in Britain. The Kinder Downfall is the tallest waterfall in the Peak District National Park and is found in the High Peak region. Kinder Scout is the highest point in the Peaks and reaches a staggering 2000ft high. More to follow...
