Diddy trial day 11 sees Kid Cudi car bombing described as targeted attack by arson investigator
Lance Jimenez, an arson specialist, described the incident involving Scott 'Kid Cudi' Mescudi's Porsche, which caught fire outside his Los Angeles home in January 2012. Jimenez said a Molotov cocktail was used but did not shatter correctly, causing a slow-burning fire rather than an explosion. He found a bottle on the car's front seat and a burned cloth on the console. The vehicle's roof had been cut, and damage was consistent with a failed firebombing.
'In my professional opinion, it was targeted,' Jimenez testified.
This followed earlier testimony about a separate 2011 incident, in which Los Angeles police officer Christopher Ignacio responded to Cudi's home after a reported break-in. Ignacio recalled seeing a black Escalade speeding away as he arrived. The vehicle was later linked to Combs' company, Bad Boy Productions. Cudi testified that Combs broke into his home after learning of his relationship with Cassie Ventura, Combs' former partner.
Cudi told the court last week he suspected Combs was behind the later bombing, though Combs denied involvement when confronted.
Jimenez also disclosed that fingerprint cards Cudi provided police after the 2011 incident were destroyed by LAPD in August 2012. Prosecutors called this unusual and relevant, but the defense objected, saying it unfairly implied courtroom misconduct.
Combs is facing multiple federal charges including sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy. Prosecutors allege that between 2004 and 2024, he abused and coerced victims to fulfill his sexual desires. Combs has denied all wrongdoing.

Israel army kills two Palestinians in West Bank
RAMALLAH: The Palestinian Authority on Thursday said Israeli troops killed two Palestinian teens overnight in the occupied West Bank, with Israel's army confirming the deaths but saying its forces targeted people throwing firebombs. 'The General Authority of Civil Affairs informed the Ministry of Health of the martyrdom of Ahmad Ali Asaad Ashira al-Salah (15 years old) and Mohammad Khaled Aliyan Issa (17 years old), killed by (Israeli) gunfire last night, Wednesday, in the town of al-Khader, south of Bethlehem,' said the agency, which is affiliated with the Palestinian Authority. The Israeli army confirmed the report to AFP, saying its forces had killed two people from a group of 'several terrorists'. Gaza civil defence says Israeli fire kills 93 aid seekers 'During an (Israeli army) operation adjacent to the area of Al-Khader… soldiers identified several terrorists hurling Molotov cocktails toward a central highway in the area,' it added. 'The soldiers responded with fire toward the terrorists, eliminating two of them.' Violence has surged in the West Bank since the beginning of the war in Gaza, sparked by an unprecedented Hamas attack on Israeli soil on October 7, 2023. At least 960 Palestinians – including militants and civilians – have been killed by Israeli soldiers or settlers, according to an AFP tally based on Palestinian Authority data. In the same time period, at least 36 Israelis – including civilians and security forces – have been killed in Palestinian attacks or during Israeli military operations there, according to official Israeli figures.

Car plows into LA nightclub crowd
A vehicle that plunged into a crowd outside a nightclub, injuring dozens, is seen on Santa Monica Boulevard in the East Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, US, July 19, 2025. Photo: Reuters A car drove into a crowd outside a nightclub in Hollywood early Saturday, injuring more than two dozen people, including the driver who was pulled out of the car and attacked, authorities said. The cause of the incident is still under investigation and authorities are searching for a gunman who non-fatally shot the driver in the chaos that followed, the Los Angeles Police Department said. More than 100 firefighters responded to the scene in East Hollywood, with 23 people taken to hospital — seven were in critical condition. Six others were in serious condition, ten in fair condition, and seven were treated at the scene, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. Footage apparently of the aftermath showed panicked people running outside the club and victims sprawled on a blood-stained sidewalk while others sobbed nearby. The driver of the car, reportedly a Nissan Versa, was pulled from the vehicle, handcuffed and brutally beaten, a video on social media showed. "When officers arrived, they found the driver being assaulted by bystanders and determined he had sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and his condition is unknown at this time," the LAPD statement said. The suspected gunman fled on foot, it said. Many clubgoers were outside when the car plowed into the crowd, a taco truck and a valet stand, a firefighter said. "They were all standing in line going into a nightclub. There was a taco cart out there, so they were ... getting some food, waiting to go in. And there's also a valet line there," Los Angeles Fire Department Captain Adam Van Gerpen told ABC News. "The valet podium was taken out, the taco truck was taken out, and then a large number of people were impacted by the vehicle." At dawn Saturday, a tow truck hauled away the car, its bumper torn off. Club employees power washed the sidewalk outside The Vermont Hollywood, which was hosting a reggae and hip hop event when tragedy struck. "This is a heartbreaking tragedy. I want to thank the more than 100 LAFD and LAPD personnel who responded to the scene to help to save lives," Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said in a statement. "The hearts of Angelenos are with all of the victims impacted this morning — a full investigation into what happened is underway." The area where the incident occurred is near Hollywood landmarks including Sunset Boulevard and the Walk of Fame — a sidewalk emblazoned with stars commemorating movie industry figures
