US heavy metal band Metallica took to X on Tuesday evening to share a picture alongside Ozzy, captioning it with a broken heart emoji.

Ali Campbell, lead singer and co-founder of British reggae band UB40, branded Ozzy 'a true Birmingham legend.'
In an Instagram tribute, Campbell wrote: 'The undisputed king of heavy metal.
'You didn't just shape a culture, you defined it. You led from the front and never looked back.
'My thoughts are with Sharon and the entire Osbourne family during this time.'
A statement from the Osbourne family said: 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.'
The heavy metal star is survived by his six children — Kelly, Aimee, Jack, Jessica, Louis and Elliot — and wife, Sharon.
The musician married twice, meeting his first wife Thelma Riley in 1971, with the pair going on to welcome Jessica and Louis. Ozzy later adopted Thelma's five-year-old, Elliot.
The couple divorced in 1982, with Ozzy going on to marry his manager Sharon.
Ozzy and Sharon share Kelly, Aimee and Jack with the family going on to star in MTV's The Osbournes, which ran for four seasons from 2002 to 2005.
