Bernardeschi avoids serious injury, still out for 3 weeks
Bologna will be without new signing Federico Bernardeschi for at least three weeks after a knee injury, but fears of ligament damage were fortunately unfounded. The former Toronto FC wide forward made the move to the Stadio Dall'Ara as a free agent this summer and was hoping to reboot his career after his time in Major League Soccer. There was an immediate setback, as after converting a penalty in the friendly match against Vis Pesaro, he limped off with a knee injury. Bernardeschi knee injury not too serious Federico Bernardeschi playing for Bologna ( Reports immediately suggested they feared it could be serious with ligament damage and possibly the requirement for surgery. However, today it was confirmed Bernardeschi had only suffered a sprain to the right knee. It still means he will be out of action for circa three weeks, but he can at least hope to be back in action for the Serie A season opener against Roma. A more likely scenario is to get him ready for the Week 2 fixture against Como.

Report – Inter Milan Could Completely Change Transfer Strategy If Lookman Pursuit Fails
Inter Milan could completely change their transfer strategy this summer if they're unable to land Ademola Lookman. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri could shift their focus to signing a defender. The status of Inter Milan's pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman is still up in the air. It's been a couple days since La Dea's bombshell rejection of Inter's second offer for the Nigerian. They turned down a bid of €42 million plus €3 million in add-ons. And Inter are still mulling over whether to return with another improved bid. And in the meantime, Lookman has publicly handed in a transfer request. He has accused Atalanta of 'not keeping their promise' to sell him. (Photo by) There is still, however, no guarantee that Inter will sign Lookman. The Nigerian is pushing for the move. But the final decision will ultimately belong to Atalanta, who could also try to sell Lookman to a different club. There are other targets in attack for Inter. First among them, reports the Corriere della Sera, is Christopher Nkunku of Chelsea. However, alternatively, Inter may shift gears from making a big attacking signing that would facilitate the change to a 3-4-2-1 formation. Instead, the Corriere della Sera report, Inter could focus on a defensive signing. Giovanni Leoni would be the top target in this respect.
