Rod Stewart Admits His Lavish 80th Birthday Celebration Cost an ‘Absolute Fortune'
The legendary singer-songwriter, who turned 80 in January, revealed he celebrated his milestone birthday by cruising the ocean on a yacht with his loved ones.
'We hired a massive yacht. Cost me an absolute fortune. I don't mind—you're only 80 once,' Stewart told AARP in an interview published on Thursday, May 22.
The 'Maggie May' hitmaker, who has been married to wife Penny Lancaster since 2007, said he took his whole crew on the trip.
'I've got eight kids and five grandchildren, plus various boyfriends and husbands, so there were 15 of us,' he noted. 'We had three chefs. The boat was so big that I didn't even see some of it.'
The Grammy winner also recounted the heartwarming way his family paid tribute to him one evening.
'We dressed up every night, with a different theme,' he explained. 'One night, they all dressed up as Rod Stewart and didn't tell me. My dear wife brought wigs for everybody and some of my old outfits. It was a wonderful time.'
The fun didn't stop on the high seas, as the rockstar also had a belated birthday celebration with his Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood.
The 77-year-old Rolling Stones member posted an Instagram carousel with photos and videos that showed Stewart wearing a 'Birthday Bhoy' pin as they enjoyed a night out with each other and their wives.
'
Really fun night celebrating Rod's 80th!' Woods captioned the post, shared in January.
While the 'The First Cut is the Deepest' vocalist has gotten older, that hasn't slowed down Stewart's career, as he told the outlet he's still 'got so much more music to do.' He also continues performing live as he is on his One Last Time tour.
Stewart reflected on touring at his age, telling the publication, 'When I feel I might be sick enough to cancel a concert, that's when I go, 'Maybe I'm getting old.' Then a couple of days later, bang, I'm back at it again.'
He added, 'I enjoy doing concerts more than I did back then. Maybe I've come full circle to appreciate how lucky I've been.'

Did Cardi B and Stefon Diggs actually break up?
It's been a whirlwind summer for Stefon Diggs and Cardi B, but ... is their relationship over after the infamous boat party with the pink substance, the Knicks game they attended and going Instagram official? The speculation has begun thanks to the rapper apparently deleting all her Instagram photos of the New England Patriots wide receiver -- that included the one of them that told us they were "Instagram official." As far as we can tell, Cardi is still following him on Instagram, for what that's worth, and that's true of Diggs following her. But maybe this means nothing. Sometimes, that happens, although in many cases it's a precursor to a breakup. Cardi also posted a video on Instagram talking about how tired she is, but again: this is all we've got to indicate there might be some trouble here. Fans are speculating about Cardi B and Stefon Diggs' relationship status Do I believe Cardi and Stefon broke up? Nope. Do I believe they decided to be more private because people are overly weird and obsessed? Yup. Why did Cardi B delete all Stefon Diggs pictures from her Instagram Cardi B and Stefon Diggs were just in Paris last month He apparently rented a castle the couple stayed in a few weeks ago.

Maura Higgins hacks off her long locks for a shaggy pixie haircut – see the shocking transformation here
The unexpected hair chameleon of reality TV, Maura Higgins, has only gone and done it again, debuting yet another shocking hair transformation – and it's one to rival her hip-skimming blonde curls from a few months back. So, considering, prepare to catch some flies with your jaw that's about to drop... Over the weekend, the Love Island alum attended the F1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone and, for the coveted event, went all out in the hair department. Styled by her hairstylist, Milosz, Maura decided to rock a jet-black head-hugging pixie cut, a look worlds apart from her trademark brunette lengths. The presenter shared a snap of her short 'do over on Instagram. That all said, it wouldn't be a celebrity hair transformation without scepticism. Because just the day before (and a few weeks earlier), Maura shared a number of images of herself rocking her trademark mid-length locks. So, I think it's safe to assume that, as much as we love this shaggy pixie, the look comes to as the result of a wig. But that's not to say that she wouldn't go for the big chop in the future! After all, there's no denying that she looks absolutely stunning. Hint, hint, Maura... Follow Lia on Instagram. Lia Mappoura (she/her) is the Beauty Writer at Cosmopolitan UK.
