XcelLabs Launches To Transform Accounting

Business Wire06-06-2025
PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The future of accounting will be built by AI-literate professionals who know how to think better, advise smarter and elevate their firms.
That's the driving force behind XcelLabs, a new platform launched by Jody Padar, the Radical CPA, and Katie Tolin, a growth strategist, who are both known for reshaping accounting from their unique perspectives. The Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs (PICPA) and CPA Crossings, LLC, are partnering with Padar and Tolin to power the launch as strategic partners and investors.
'To reinvent the profession, we must start by training the professional who can then transform their firms,' said Padar, an accounting influencer and author of three books that advocate for radicalizing practice management. 'By equipping people with data and insights that help them see things differently, they can provide better advice to their clients and firm.'
XcelLabs is a training and technology platform that offers solutions to help accountants use AI to build fluency and strategic thinking. This is done through:
- XcelLabs Academy – A series of online courses that will provide hands-on education on topics related to the basics of AI, being a better advisor, leadership and practice management.
- Navi - Proprietary and patent-pending technology that uses AI to help accountants turn unstructured data from emails, phone calls and meetings into insights, while adjusting to the unique emotions and needs of each user.
- Training and Consulting – Training teams at larger firms to think AI-first and use Navi, coupled with ongoing coaching to improve conversations and advice received, as well as advisory actions to be taken.
These solutions, currently in beta testing, will help professionals become exceptional at what they do and be proud of how they do it.
'Accountants know they need to be more advisory, but not everyone can figure out how to do it. Couple that with the fact that AI will be doing a lot of the lower-level work accountants do today, and we need to create that next level advisor now,' said Tolin, an award-winning growth professional and a member of the Accounting Marketing Hall of Fame. 'By showing accountants how to unlock patterns in their actions and turn client conversations into emotionally intelligent advice, we can create the accounting professional of the future.'
Unlike traditional tech or training platforms, XcelLabs blends high-impact strategy with tactical AI tools designed to upskill people, not just automate processes. By pushing boundaries, lifting up people and leveraging AI for every business challenge, firms will become AI-X (SM) firms – firms that use AI to drive excellence.
'AI is transforming how CPAs work,' said Jennifer Cryder, CPA, CEO of PICPA, 'and XcelLabs is focused on helping the profession evolve with it. At PICPA, we're proud to support a mission that aligns so closely with ours: empowering firms to use AI not just for efficiency, but to drive growth, value and long-term relevance.'
At its core, XcelLabs is a human-centric company built to elevate accountants, ensuring that people remain at the heart of an AI-powered profession.
Improve the professional. Transform the firm. Reinvent the profession.

SambaNova Launches First Turnkey AI Inference Solution for Data Centers, Deployable in 90 Days

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SambaNova, a leader in next-generation AI infrastructure, today announced SambaManaged, the industry's first inference-optimized data center product offering, deployable in just 90 days — dramatically faster than the typical 18 to 24 months. Designed for rapid deployment, this modular product enables existing data centers to immediately stand up AI inference services with minimal infrastructure modification. "SambaManaged is a game-changer for organizations that want to accelerate their AI initiatives without compromising on speed, scale or efficiency. Anywhere you have power and networking, we can bring your AI infrastructure online in record time.' Share As global AI inference demands soar, traditional data centers grapple with lengthy deployment timelines of 18–24 months, extensive power requirements, and costly facility upgrades. SambaManaged addresses these critical barriers, enabling organizations to quickly launch profitable AI inference services leveraging existing power and network infrastructure. 'Data centers are struggling with power, cooling, and expertise challenges as AI demand grows,' said Abhi Ingle, Chief Product and Strategy Officer at SambaNova. 'SambaManaged delivers high-performance AI with just 10kW of air-cooled power and minimal infrastructure changes — making rapid deployment simple for any data center.' Key Advantages for Data Centers and Cloud Providers: Unmatched Efficiency: Sets a new industry benchmark for performance per watt, maximizing return on investment and reducing total cost of ownership. Rapid Deployment: Launch a fully managed AI inference service in as little as 90 days, minimizing integration challenges and accelerating time to value. Open Model Flexibility: Achieve lightning-fast inference with leading open-source models, ensuring no vendor lock-in and future-proof operations. Modular, Scalable Design: Scale from small to large deployments with ease, including the capability to build a 1 MW 'Token Factory' (100 racks or 1,600 chips) or larger that scales with evolving business needs. Managed or Self-Service Options: Choose a fully managed service or take over operations as internal expertise grows, supported by a customizable developer/enterprise UI and flexible pricing models. SambaManaged is already being adopted by a major US public company with a large power footprint. The platform will deliver the highest throughput on DeepSeek and similar models, empowering them to maximize inference revenue while optimizing Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). OpenAI tightens the screws on security to keep away prying eyes

In Brief OpenAI has reportedly overhauled its security operations to protect against corporate espionage. According to the Financial Times, the company accelerated an existing security clampdown after Chinese startup DeepSeek released a competing model in January, with OpenAI alleging that DeepSeek improperly copied its models using 'distillation' techniques. The beefed-up security includes 'information tenting' policies that limit staff access to sensitive algorithms and new products. For example, during development of OpenAI's o1 model, only verified team members who had been read into the project could discuss it in shared office spaces, according to the FT. And there's more. OpenAI now isolates proprietary technology in offline computer systems, implements biometric access controls for office areas (it scans employees' fingerprints), and maintains a 'deny-by-default' internet policy requiring explicit approval for external connections, per the report, which further adds that the company has increased physical security at data centers and expanded its cybersecurity personnel. The changes are said to reflect broader concerns about foreign adversaries attempting to steal OpenAI's intellectual property, though given the ongoing poaching wars amid American AI companies and increasingly frequent leaks of CEO Sam Altman's comments, OpenAI may be attempting to address internal security issues, too. We've reached out to OpenAI for comment.
