AN EASTENDERS actor and pop star has shared his heartbreak after losing his beloved brother.
The actor, who is now based in LA and aged 49, joined BBC kids TV as angel-faced Tegs Ratcliffe in 1988.

Responding to the latest Instagram post from the legendary Lewis Capaldi - EastEnders Sean Maguire wrote a heart breaking comment.
The actor said: "Lewis been a fan for a while. Don't like talking about this sh***.
"But having a tough time just now. Lost my brother six months ago. Holding it together.
"But dropped my kids off this morning and played 'someone you loved' and hit differently. Then burst into tears.
"I didn't know I needed it. Maybe I did. Had to pull the car over and keep singing and crying.
"Thank you for the therapy. Really thank you. You helped me get back up. X"
The emotional and heartfelt post comes weeks after Sean announced his brother's death on his own account.
The star wrote at the time: "I've struggled to find the words or even choose the pictures for this.
"Because it means that it's real but for those who don't already know our beloved brother Darren Maguire passed away on Saturday, 11th January.
"He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was a truly remarkable man, friend, son, brother, and father.

"He was so loved by everyone that knew him. I'm still in so much shock.
"I can barely form a sentence, but I know the world has lost one of its most beloved people and I have lost my best friend.
"We love you Darren and we'll never stop loving you. Now go make them laugh and dance heaven."
Sean joined BBC kids TV as angel-faced Tegs Ratcliffe in 1988.
Yet his character was forced to quit Grange Hill school in 1991 when his step-dad secured a job in Germany.
The English-American performer later spent a year in Albert Square as troubled teen Aidan Brosnan.
Joining the soap as a 17-year-old in 1993, Sean took on tough storylines focused on homelessness and drug abuse which culminated in a near suicide attempt.
While he was stopped from taking his own life by girlfriend Mandy, he blamed her for ruining his life and fled to Ireland.
Sean became a pop star after leaving EastEnders, scoring eight top 30 hits including Good Day which peaked at number 12 in the UK.
And he joined the cast of Scott & Bailey in 2012.
Sean swapped grey Britain for sunny California in 2000 and became a US citizen just in time to vote in the presidential election.
His career has gone from strength to strength in the States.
He played the lead role in 300 parody Meet The Spartans, starred alongside Kevin Hart in fantasy comedy Krod Mandoon, and took over the part of Robin Hood in ABC's Once Upon A Time.
In addition to acting, he also teaches aspiring thespians through his business The Players Conservatory.
But most of all Sean is a proud dad of three with his former cop wife Tanya Flynn.

As she prepares to "officially launch" the brand in September 2025, Gemma has decided to try and raise funds through Crowdcube - which asks people to "invest in Europe's best startups". On the Crowdcube page, which has already raised £48,296 from 354 different investors, Gemma says: "We're now looking to raise £500,000 to officially launch in September 2025 to continue the movement and the community we've already started. "If you're looking to invest in a brand with a real community in real demand, you've found yourself a real good gem." The page also highlights some of the company's successes to date, including the fact they made £127,000 in pre-order sales in just three weeks. The equity investment has a share price of 90p and a pre-money valuation of £2.25 million. "The Company had already raised £250,000 prior to the Crowdcube raise," the page reads. "For the avoidance of doubt, this has been included in the pre-money valuation displayed in the pitch." And for those investing in the business, there are various 'rewards' for doing so - all of which start from an investment of £50. Investing £50 will get you a signed thank you card from Gemma, while for £25,000 you'll get to "meet Gemma and have lunch with the G&T team", as well as an investor-only lifetime discount of 15%, a product bundle, an invite to the press launch, lifetime early access to new products and Gemma's signed thank you note. "This is a high-risk investment and you are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong." News of Gemma's crowdfunding efforts quickly made its way onto social media, with trolls using the comments section of the videos to have their say on the controversial move. "Why hasn't she used her own money?" one wrote. "I don't want to Invest of your not engaged to the hilt in every financial way." "Crowd funding to make herself rich," another added. What is crowdfunding? Crowdfunding is a popular choice for startups trying to raise money, typically via the internet. It's described as an alternative way to fund projects "without standard financial intermediaries". There are four different ways of crowdfunding: rewards-based, equity-based, debt-based and donation-based. Judging by Gemma's Crowdcube page, it seems she has adopted a reward-based approach to the funding attempt, with investors offered perks in exchange for their financial support. "Ok send me money and I'll start a business!" "So she wants people to help her… doesn't she know about the cost of living crisis us normal people are dealing with?" a third commented. "Over 1/2 mil in her bank - usual rich get richer!" someone else sighed. "Crowd funding? Gemma can do one," another raged. "Bloody hell she has more than most for money!" someone else said. And as another labelled it ridiculous, someone else agreed, writing: "Clearly not confident in her own idea to fully invest herself, putting up her property as collateral. "Guaranteed to fail." The Amazon billionaire and his new wife celebrated in front of 200 VIP guests, following days of blatant excess in the floating city, two years after the billionaire proposed to the TV journalist on his $500 million superyacht. While locals have been protesting the 'absurd wealth theatre' on display – with creepy mannequins of the pair spotted floating through the Venice canals — Jeff has been pictured frolicking in the suds of a foam party aboard his lavish yacht before the big day. Guests began arriving earlier this week, with the likes of Ivanka Trump, Barbara Streisand, Kim Kardashian and Bill Gates jetting in. But things haven't exactly gone to plan: Thursday's pre-wedding party at the historic Madonna dell-Orto cloisters was hit by torrential rain. A-listers including Kylie Jenner were forced to take cover during the freak thunderstorm. Because even billionaires can't control the weather… yet. But according to top UK wedding planner Mark Niemierko, we shouldn't be rolling our eyes — we should be getting inspired. 'I think overall myself, and other fellow planners in the industry are excited,' he tells Metro. 'While their taste might not be to everyone's liking, I feel this is what is most important when it comes to planning and designing your wedding – being yourself.' Mark has been a luxury wedding planner for 20 years, with a client list that includes Julia and James Cordon and Rochelle and Marvin Humes. His company, Niemierko, has even planned weddings attended by royalty. After seeing enough drab wedding concepts while in the business, he's excited to see someone doing something different. 'I am thrilled we might have a break in the beige weddings taking over Instagram, the algorithm needs a refresh,' he says. 'Overall, I'm loving every minute from the leaked gift Registry card of the invites, to the foam party snaps, to the drama of having to move venues.' Mark knows a thing or two about excess — he's planned countless weddings, with the average budget stretching between £500,000 and £750,000, and some soaring into the millions. Think six-figure cake rooms, karaoke machines on the dance floor, private jets for a family's pet dog (and the pet's walker), entire countryside hotels restaffed top to bottom, and the London Museum's Christmas decorations removed overnight to fit a bride's specific vision. 'Very early on I learnt to listen to my couples, to ensure I created days around them – and not my own personal taste and style,' he says. 'Back in 2006, a bride told me she wanted this 'booth thing', a bit like at train stations where you have your passport photo taken. I immediately thought, what, that won't work. Well, it was and photo booths are now as common at weddings as confetti.' But, is there such a thing as too much? Mark says: 'The only time I draw a line is if it will ruin the guest experience. If it's a mad idea that'll work and keep guests guessing, and the night alive and not dull – I'm all for it. 'But if it's long-winded and service will be affected, I'll likely ensure we ditch it.' For Mark, the best weddings aren't just stylish, they're fun. 'Humour I think is a very important part of a wedding day, if it's all taking yourselves too seriously, posing for photos – where's the moment in that? Less fake, more fun I say,' he adds. If you're planning a wedding – but don't have quite the same budget as Jeff and Lauren, according to Nick there are still things you can do to make sure your nuptials have an A-list vibe. 'I think loos generally are the most important things,' he says. 'Whether you're at an airport or a nightclub, we all need to go for a wee. It shouldn't be an experience of 'Oh my God! I need to go for a wee, but I need to get out of this room so quickly'. 'It should be 'Oh my god, this is insane. I want to stay in here all night.' Mark doesn't hold back when it comes to styling the bathrooms at his weddings, adding everything from scented candles to tarot card readers to pleasantly surprise guests. One simple tip? He says: 'Get yourself crystal decanters, fill them up with mouthwash, get little paper cups and put them on the side. 'There's nothing more fabulous than being on a night out and thinking, 'I almost feel like I've brushed my teeth'.' Obviously, Mark adds, don't be stingy on your choice of soap, and if you can, add personal touches. 'I love doing a sweet jar full of every different coloured vaseline.' And, if he finds out which perfumes the couple wears, he might add little bottles of them in the bathroom. 'But, just beware. They're going to get nabbed,' he adds. 'A guest is going to take them. Someone will steal them.' Next on Mark's essentials list? The bar. And not just what's in it, but where it is. 'You could not be a drinker. But you still need a drink. So the bar is going to need to be fully stocked,' he says. 'If you can't afford to water and feed all of your guests, then don't invite them. Have a fully open bar if you can afford it.' You want to make sure it's close to the action. Mark advises: 'Don't have it separate from the dance room, because you'll end up with a split group, and you want it closer to where the dancing is. More Trending 'Not on top of the dance floor, but close enough to make sure it's flowing and whoever's managing it doesn't run out of glassware. It needs to flow.' You might assume it's all over when the music stops, but Mark wants guests to be surprised until the very last moment. He's even set up a Shawarma kebab stall for guests to enjoy on their way out. 'Can you imagine what the guests are saying to each other when they leave that wedding? They're drunk and they're turning to each other, probably talking with their mouths full, going, 'Oh my God! This is the best wedding I've ever been to'.' Battersea Power Station (pre-renovation) – one of Mark's early large-scale projects was held at Battersea Power Station when it was still derelict in 2012. He turned it into a grand-scale rock-and-roll wedding. He says: 'It's funny going back there now and it's all so polished and beautiful.' British Pullman Train – in 2012, Mark transported guests to a countryside wedding at Blenheim Palace via the Belmond British Pullman Train. 'Everyone got on the British Pullman, and we had a fabulous dinner on the train. Then you arrived in Woodstock, and your hotel was taken care of,' he says. The British Museum – Mark orchestrated the first-ever wedding at the British Museum for just 20 guests in 2018. 'Guests didn't know where they were going,' he says. 'We did a very simple registry office and then they got in cars to a mystery venue and pulled up at the British Museum. It was like Night at the Museum. Totally empty. And then you walked to the Egyptian galleries and that's where we had a dinner. It was quite epic.' Private jet for dogs – Niemierko has gone the extra mile for all sorts of guests. 'There's obviously been private jets for dogs, he says. 'We can't say where they were flying from, but we had to make sure that dog was somewhere else and they pretty much flew with a staff member on a private jet.' Do you have a story to share? EastEnders' Linda Carter makes life-changing decision after 11 years
EastEnders' Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) makes the life-changing decision to call time on her 11 years as landlady of The Queen Vic next week, but there's one obstacle standing in the way of her plan – her mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe). Linda has been co-owner of the Walford boozer since she and then-husband Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) debuted on the BBC soap at the end of 2013. She currently owns The Vic with Elaine, who came on board in 2023, buying Mick's share from his new wife Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) following his presumed drowning. Recently, recovering alcoholic Linda has been struggling to run the pub single-handedly, as Elaine has been behaving erratically since her split from husband George Knight (Colin Salmon) earlier this month. With rumours currently swirling that previous landlady Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) is poised to take the reins of the Vic once more, there are tense scenes next week when Linda tells her mum she wants to sell her half of the pub. Reeling from the bombshell, Elaine tries to convince Linda to rethink her decision, but a furious argument breaks out. After Linda retreats to the café, she bumps into George, who encourages her to see the situation from her mum's point of view. But when Elaine spies their conversation, she becomes convinced they are plotting behind her back. Trying to take charge of the situation, Elaine meets with a bank manager, but it doesn't go to plan, and so later puts a proposal to her grandson Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) to become a silent partner, but he refuses. Feeling deflated and emotional, Elaine loses it in The Vic and orders all the punters out, before getting into another blazing row with Linda – but the stress of recent events becomes too much, and she suddenly collapses. Elaine later tries to play her collapse off as a panic attack, but it's clear something more is at play. Felling guilty, Linda reasons she should keep her share of The Vic for Elaine's sake, but Johnny is adamant she should sell – but as they return to the bar, Elaine has collapsed again.
