‘Monster' Casts Ella Beatty as Lizzie Borden for Season 4
'Monster' found its Lizzie Borden for Season 4. The Netflix anthology series cast Ella Beatty in the lead role for the next installment of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan's hit true crime saga, TheWrap has learned.
The series also cast Rebecca Hall to play Lizzie's stepmother Abby, and Vicky Krieps will play Bridget Sullivan, a maid in the Borden home. The news comes as Netflix prepares to debut Season 3 later this year, which will star Charlie Hunnam as serial killer Ed Gein.

The casting marks the return for all three actresses into the Murphy universe. Beatty, whose parents are Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, previously appeared in a recurring role on 'Feud: Capote vs. The Swans' on FX. Hall is in the cast of Murphy's upcoming FX drama 'The Beauty' and Krieps is set to star in 'Monster' Season 3.
Borden's story has been depicted across multiple TV and film adaptations, including the 1975 TV movie, 'The Legend of Lizzie Borden,' which starred Elizabeth Montgomery as Borden, as well as Lifetime's 'Lizzie Borden Took an Ax' and 'The Lizzie Borden Chronicles,' both of which starred Christina Ricci as Borden. More recently, Chloë Sevigny starred as Borden alongside Kristen Stewart in the 2018 film 'Lizzie.'
Season 3 centers on notorious 1950s grave robber, murderer and suspected serial killer Ed Gein, who served as inspiration for Norman Bates, the central character in Hitchcock's classic 1960 film 'Psycho.'
Hunnam stars as Gein, while Laurie Metcalf plays Gein's mother Augusta, Tom Hollander stars as Alfred Hitchcock and Olivia Williams plays Alma Hitchcock.
'Monster' kicked off with a record-breaking run in Season 1 centered around Jeffrey Dahmer, played by Evan Peters. Season 2 focused on the Menendez Brothers.

Perfect Match may well be the final boss of reality tv dating shows. So, with all that in mind, it's clear that a major chunk of time has passed between Perfect Match season three being filmed, and its eventual release this week. The news that Perfect Match was renewed for a third season was announced on June 27, 2024, a week after the second season wrapped. And it seems that the show began filming shortly after, which suggests that Ollie and AD have been loved up for around a year. We don't know if these two will be the winning couple for Perfect Match season three, but they definitely prove that love is real! Currently, the first six episodes of the season are available to watch on Netflix and three more will be made available on 8th August and the show will conclude on 15th August.

Free summer scholarship academy at University of Colorado Boulder aims to make classical music more accessible
In the middle of summer, a college campus can be pretty quiet, but at the University of Colorado Boulder the halls of the College of Music are anything but. Every summer for more than 20 years, young musicians from all over audition for a chance to come to stay in Boulder and train with the Sphinx Performance Academy. The students are some of the best players in the country, including 12-year-old Petra Nkoyoyo. "When I got accepted, I was so excited and like, I would talk nonstop about coming to the camp," Nkoyoyo said. The academy is completely free and provides two weeks of private lessons, mentorship and masterclasses in an effort to make classical music more accessible for young students of color. "At my orchestra, I'm like, pretty much one like me and my brothers just pretty much the only kids, like, there's one other girl that look like us. So it's really nice to have, yeah, just other people who look like us and who want to pursue music and achieve the same goals," Nkoyoyo said. CU Boulder Violin Professor Alex Gonzalez has seen the program's success firsthand. "They've helped with career development ... giving me many, many concert opportunities, as well as helping with other practical things, like helping me purchase the violin I play on today," Gonzalez said. And after going through the program himself he now gets to help these future musicians. "The sense of community that's built when the students are studying with peers that have similar backgrounds, similar experiences, it really brings you back down to the core of why you're doing what you're doing," Gonzalez said. Recitals wrapped up for the summer this weekend as students gave a masterclass of their own by showing what's possible with symphony of support.
