Suzanne Somers' widow Alan Hamel dating her Hollywood Wives co-star Joanna Cassidy
Suzanne Somers' widow Alan Hamel is dating the late actress' Hollywood Wives co-star Joanna Cassidy.
The Three's Company star had been married to producer Alan, 88, for 36 years when she passed away on October 15 2023, at the age of 76, following a battle with breast cancer.
However, almost two years on from her death, Alan has a new woman in his life in Joanna, 79, who starred alongside his late wife in the miniseries based on the 1983 novel of the same name by Jackie Collins.
Confirming his new romance with the New York Post's Page Six column, he admitted: 'I don't know where this relationship is going."
The new couple were photographed arm-in-arm in Malibu on Monday (23.06.25).
Alan added: 'I have known Joanna Cassidy for over 45 years.
'Joanna was a guest star on [daytime talk show] 'The Alan Hamel Show' in Canada in the '70s. She was a great guest and it was a dynamic show, and we liked each other, not romantically, but mainly with respect. Both of us were married at the time.'
Alan previously recalled that despite his and Suzanne's "mad fights", they would never put a stop to their love.
He told Page Six: "For the first few years of our love affair, we fought like mad dogs. But we always returned to our passionate love for one another. After one of our fights, Suzanne said to me, 'No matter how bad it gets, let's never break up.' And we never did."
The TV host recalled that he and Suzanne would always hold hands when they were asleep and he would spend the early morning just admiring her before she woke up.
He said: "We always went to sleep every night holding hands, and in the morning I would always awaken a few minutes before Suzanne and I would just lie there, staring at her beautiful face."
Meanwhile, Alan previously revealed that he had been getting signs from Suzanne and eventually accepted that she was "safe" in the afterlife.
He told Fox News Digital: "One day I'm in the kitchen with my family, and all of a sudden, Suzanne's favorite song comes on the audio system; the audio system wasn't even turned on. It's a Latin song, and it's written and performed by someone no one's ever heard of. It's a song we used to dance to in the kitchen. It just came on all by itself. And then, when it was over, that was it. The audio system stayed off.
"Later that day, the fireplace started by itself.
"It stayed on for an hour and then it turned off.
"Then one day, a hummingbird flew into our house. It goes to our little breakfast nook where there's a photograph of Suzanne and me where we're looking at each other. The hummingbird hovers in between our two faces. Then it flies up and sits on top of the photo.
"A few weeks later, I opened all the doors and windows and I saw the same hummingbird – they all have very distinctive colorings… I walked over and extended my hands. The hummingbird jumps into my hands, and she tucks in her little feet. All I felt was her belly. She felt safe."

Bill Hader exposes ‘terrible' celeb encounter
Don't miss out on the headlines from Celebrity Life. Followed categories will be added to My News. Bill Hader has the tea on Martin Kove. Over 10 years before Martin kove, 78, bit his co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim at a fan convention this past weekend, Hader, 47, spoke about a bizarre encounter he had with the Cobra Kai actor on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast. During the 2013 episode, Hader recalled that at age 20 his job was to drive actors to sets. One day, Hader was tasked with bringing Kove to a film shoot, reports the New York Post. 'I'm driving him around in my s***ty car, and he got me lost on purpose,' Hader claimed, adding that Kove 'hadn't read the script yet,' so he gave the Barry star the wrong directions. Hader said that after they arrived late, he got 'screamed at' by his boss. 'It was a terrible day,' Hader said of the moment, which only got worse. 'On the way back, we're driving,' Hader recalled. 'It's at night, and we're driving down the freeway. He was like, 'Bill, are you mad at me?'' Hader named and shamed the celebrity he had a 'terrible' experience with. Picture: Andrew Lipovsky/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images via Getty Images The Karate Kid actor then allegedly forced Hader to stop at a McDonald's and promised to get him a cookie and a milkshake. 'He comes back out eating the chocolate cookie and the milkshake,' the Saturday Night Live alum remembered. 'And he just sits in the back and goes, 'Come on, let's go.' It was the biggest f**k you.' 'It was a weird mind f**k of, like, 'I'm gonna get you this thing,' and then he ate it in front of me,' Hader added. 'And then I just drove home in silence.' Hader, who referred to the interaction as his 'first 'welcome to Hollywood, kid' moment,' noted that he had to keep driving Kove to work for a few more days. 'And I didn't talk to him after that,' Hader said. 'I just kind of stared straight ahead.' Despite Kove's rudeness, Hader said he gave the martial artist a pass. 'I heard he was going through a divorce, or something was happening with him,' Hader noted. 'He might be a really nice guy, but I just … rubbed him the wrong way. I don't know what was going on.' Martin Kove at the 1923 premiere earlier this year. Picture:for Paramount+ The Post has reached out to Kove's rep for comment. On Sunday, Kove was accused of biting Hannah-Kim, 37, in the arm at Washington State Summer Con. The actress, who played Kim Da-Eun for seasons 5 and 6 of Cobra Kai, claimed the alleged attack happened when she tapped Kove on the shoulder to greet him at their cast booth, according to a police report obtained by People. When he was questioned about the incident by police, Kove reportedly 'admitted to biting' Hannah-Kim but claimed 'he did it out of jest.' 'He thought he was being funny, and they play fight all the time on the set of Cobra Kai, and he did not think it was a big deal,' the report stated. Hannah-Kim declined to press charges against Kove, who was reportedly escorted out of the fan convention. Kove gave a full apology for the incident in a statement obtained by TMZ. 'I deeply regret and apologise for my actions regarding the incident with Alicia, a genuinely kind and wonderful person who didn't deserve to be put in this position,' he stated. Rihanna's dad's cause of death revealed
Rihanna's father died of cancer and other serious illnesses. The Diamonds hitmaker's dad Ronald Fenty passed away on 30 May at the age of 70, shortly after being admitted to a Los Angeles hospital, and now it has emerged he had multiple health conditions at the time of his death. According to a death certificate obtained by TMZ, Ronald's death certificate listed acute respiratory failure, pancreatic cancer and aspiration pneumonia - a bacterial lung infection - as well as two kidney conditions, acute renal failure and acute tubular necrosis. As well as Rihanna, Ronald is also survived by the singer's mother Monica Braithwaite - whom he split from in 2002 - and other daughters Kandi, 54, and Samantha Fenty, 44, and 35-year-old son Rorrey Fenty. Prior to their divorce, Ronald and Monica had raised their children in Bridgetown, Barbados where he worked as a warehouse supervisor and she was an accountant. Rihanna had endured a rocky relationship with her father when she was growing up, and was at the centre of a public battle with him when he spoke to the press after she was assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown in 2009. However, the in the years that followed, she noted that she had "repaired" her relationship with her father and had to learn to "come to terms" with things that had gone in in the past. She told Oprah Winfrey: "He taught me everything, and as awful as he was to my mom, at times, it didn't compare to how great he was as a father. "And I had to come to terms with that, and I was able to close that gap with him." Despite this, in 2019, Rihanna sued her dad for allegedly exploiting her name for financial gain but elected to dismiss the complaint just weeks before it went to court. The 'Diamonds' songstress is currently expecting her third child with rapper A$AP Rocky - with whom she already has RZA, two, as well as 22-month-old Riot - and Ronald previously shared how much he approved of his daughter's relationship. He told PageSix in 2023: "He's such a cool guy. Very respectable. He's taking to fatherhood very well."

Prince Harry ‘regrets' his role in how the royal rift unfolded with Prince Charles and Prince Williams
Prince Harry is reportedly reflecting with regret on his role in the deepening royal rift, with a prominent royal author claiming the Duke of Sussex wishes he had handled things differently. The Duke of Sussex is reportedly extending an olive branch to his estranged father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William — and he's doing it through one of his most personal projects. Prince Harry is planning to invite his royal relatives to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, in a move insiders believe may be an attempt at reconciliation. Formal invitations will be sent closer to the time, but emails to Buckingham Palace are expected this month. The Games are scheduled for July 12–17, 2027 — a date that coincides with Queen Camilla's 80th birthday, the New York Post reported. The Sussexes, who relocated to Montecito, California, in 2020, have only returned to the UK a handful of times since stepping back from royal duties. One key reason for their absence is security. After losing their taxpayer-funded police protection, Prince Harry launched a legal challenge to reinstate it, which he lost earlier this year. Following the ruling, Prince Harry said he 'couldn't see a world' in which he and his wife, Meghan Markle would be able to bring their children — Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4 — to the UK. 'By saying he can't bring them here because of the court ruling, Harry has nailed his colours to the mast,' royal author Duncan Larcombe said. Meghan is also reportedly reluctant to return to the UK. 'They'd have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to realise just how much criticism they've had for their betrayals and truth bombs. But more importantly, there are real and genuine threats,' Mr Larcombe said. The royal expert claimed threats likely come from 'lunatics and radical protestors,' noting that the visible security at major royal events is only 'the tip of the iceberg.' Without official support, he said, Prince Harry and Meghan are left with a limited private security detail that may not detect more serious risks. Amid this ongoing distance, Mr Larcombe said the upcoming Games — along with recent royal milestones like Trooping the Colour and Father's Day — may be prompting Harry to reflect on how fractured the relationships have become. 'Harry is a sensitive soul and always wore his heart on his sleeve,' Mr Larcombe said. 'So whether he'd admit it publicly or not, I'm sure he's full of regrets and wishes he'd done things differently.' The royal biographer added that the duke is likely thinking back to 'the happy relationships he once had with his brother and dad,' and that deep down, 'he'd love to be able to rebuild those.' The Sussexes have not commented publicly on the reconciliation effort.
