Heads up, Swifties! 'Taylor Watch' podcast returns after hiatus
On July 15, hosts Kelly Keegs and Gia Mariano returned to the airwaves following a month hiatus.
"Oh, you thought you could kill us! Nice try, haters," Keegs boomed at the top of the two-hour YouTube video titled "Episode 152."
"We have risen from the dead, we do it all the time," Mariano jumped in, quoting Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" lyric. The two hosts debuted a new logo in a "Folklore"-esque font surrounded by stars, a microphone and a clapboard.
Whether a rebirth or a resurrection, Season 2 started with an explanation of what happened since the show was canceled on June 4. Last month, Keegs told USA TODAY that copyright issues ultimately prompted Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy to pull the plug.
"If you have a business account, which 'Taylor Watch' does count as a business account, and we are using Taylor's music − technically, it could be said that we are using her music to promote our brand, which is not allowed." Keegs told podcast listeners.
Portnoy texted Keegs and Mariano on July 7 renewing their contracts and saying they could bring back the podcast.
"It was so out of the blue," Mariano said. "He made things right."
"The past is the past and all we're thinking about is the future," Keegs said.
Mariano explained the solution will be for "Taylor Watch" to stay away from copyrighted music and videos and steer toward posting reaction videos. The show will return to a twice-a-week format with new episodes on Tuesdays and Thursdays to dish on Swift news, commentary and Easter egg theories.
"It just feels like a clean slate, a fresh start all around," Keegs said.

YouTube golf influencer Grant Horvat explains why he boldly rejected PGA Tour event invitation
Golf influencer Grant Horvat turned down a sponsor's exemption to the Barracuda Championship this week, and his reasoning revolves around his YouTube content. Horvat is one of the most popular content creators in the YouTube golf space, sporting almost 1.4 million subscribers and playing with some of the best players in the world like Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm and Phil Mickelson, to name a few. He was invited to play at Tahoe Mountain Club this week for the Barracuda Championship, but he turned down the sponsor's exemption because, as he explained, the Tour wouldn't allow his camera crew inside the ropes to film his rounds. "The reason I will not be playing in a PGA Tour event is due to the rules and regulations around media rights and filming during tournament play of a PGA Tour event," Horvat said in a video on his YouTube page. "Basically, that means I was not going to be allowed to film my round during tournament play. "For me personally, doing YouTube for a living and wanting to document everything I do — this is the reason we got the invite in the first place was because of YouTube and because of the amazing experiences I get to share because of you guys." Horvat said that he hopes he can participate in a Tour event in the future, but for now, he won't be playing with the rules in the place. "I am hopeful that sometime in the future we'll be able to play in a PGA Tour event… and document and film the entire thing to share with you guys because I know what I'd be feeling teeing it up in a PGA Tour event and boy, do I want that on camera," Horvat said in the video. The PGA Tour may have viewed a sponsor's exemption for Horvat as a way to reach a new demographic. However, Horvat stayed true to his followers, which includes almost one million on Instagram, and didn't want to play if it involved no cameras. The Barracuda isn't a regular PGA Tour field, as The Open Championship, the final major of the year, is being played in the United Kingdom this weekend as well. Players like Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and many more won't be available in California this week. The PGA Tour has been leaning into the golf content creator space of late, though. It seems Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham may be ready to move past their longstanding feud — and fans are taking notice. The former Fleetwood Mac musicians, who famously dated and broke up as the band recorded its 1977 album 'Rumours,' recently began following each other on Instagram. Though it may seem like a small gesture, those who have watched the tension between the former couple grow over the decades believe it's a monumental step. Though it is unclear when exactly Nicks and Buckingham began following each other, the post notes that they weren't connected on social media as of three weeks ago. Several other fans online began expressing similar excitement about the detail on June 27. X user @RumoursEra shared a GIF of a man walking toward a group of athletes in a locker room with a smile on his face as they all begin to jump together in excitement. 'ME OPENING THIS APP TO FIND OUT FROM OOMFS THAT STEVIE AND LINDSEY FOLLOW EACH OTHER ON INSTAGRAM,' they captioned the post, shared on June 27. Later that day, Instagram user @stevienicksnation shared a screenshot of the post with the caption: 'What could this mean?' The two have had a bitter relationship since their split. I know I'm broken. I know I have anger issues.' The 'Baby' singer continued, 'I tried to do the work my whole life to be like the people who told me I needed to be fixed like them.
