The Women's Euros get under way on Wednesday, with holders England hoping to defend their title and Spain attempting to complete a treble of major tournament wins.
The world champions are the favourites, having followed up their World Cup win in 2023 with Nations League success in 2024.

The competition is taking place in Switzerland and runs from July 2 until July 27.
All the squads are in and the pre-tournament friendlies are almost complete, so how is everyone shaping up? We have analysed the four groups — you can read them below. We have also published team guides for all 16 competing nations, which you can find here.

'We had, I don't know, 40 or 50% of the squad injured. So it was tough to handle it. It's not going to change whether we win this competition or we arrive in the last stages.' 'Many, many good things come from South America, from Brazil, from especially Brazil, Argentina, from Colombia, Uruguay. 'I admire how they defend, see Boca Juniors, how every single ball is like, wow, the end of the world, it's a different style, different way to play it's really, really good.'

Sunderland to smash club record transfer to sign Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra
Sunderland AFC have reached an agreement with Ligue 1 side Strasbourg to sign their highly-coveted midfielder and captain Habib Diarra (21), according to a report from Foot Mercato. The Black Cats, who have been promoted to the Premier League after defeating Sheffield United in the promotion play-offs final, are set to smash their club record transfer to sign Diarra. The outlet understands that Sunderland's transfer fee rises to €35m, taking into account add-ons, outbidding Leeds' previous offer. Sunderland AFC were in the market for a midfielder after parting ways with Jobe Bellingham, who followed in his older brother's footsteps in signing for Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund. As for Diarra, he was allowed to leave Liam Rosenior's Alsatians, should a suitable bid go their way. Selling Diarra for €35 million would also constitute a record for the Ligue 1 side. Premier League clubs had taken notice of Diarra when the midfielder scored for Senegal in a friendly against England on June 10, and the Tyneside outfit has now won the race for his signing.
